Lynne, we had a room in that area once - and turned out liking it very much - the bow elevators aren't terribly busy and it's very handy to the gym, spa, adult pool and Cove cafe, and going down to the clubs and theatre. And, it was quiet as the proverbial tomb with NO traffic in front of the door.
Thanks, I really will try to avoid gty again, Lynne
Today I went to a bookstore about 45 minutes from my home to see Buddy Valestro- the Cake Boss on the cable station TLC. He was doing a book signing. I got there about 9:45 and there were people in line already. He was not scheduled to come until 12:30. It was freezing! We kind of took turns saving spots while people went to their cars to get warm for a while. The wind was awful! Finally he came and I got some great pictures. I was about #25 in line. There had to be at least 300 or more people there. I managed to get a picture taken with him. He seems just like he is on TV- very friendly, funny and an all around nice guy. Now I am trying to get warm again. Will go and see if We are still in a lifeboat or we have a cabin number.
Thats deication, glad it was worth it.
Well, I am a very slow runner, so will sit and watch you all going past on Deck 4!!!;)

And she's not joking:rotfl2:

I should at least walk it but might just sit with you Marilyn!

On the WBTA they did Walk A Mile with a member of the cruise staff at 9:00 on every sea day. We did this on all sea days and really enjoyed it. I hope they will offer that on our cruise as well. If not I have to be disciplined enough to do this on my own.

No room assignment here yet. We have booked a category 11B. So I am hoping that who said that they are doing the category 11s first is correct. I want my cabin number

Corinna

I am wondering how many times I can hit refresh in a day. I am thinking it is getting close to quitting time for DCL so not thinking our assignments will come today. :sad1:

And you went past a good number of times Lynne. We were so very impressed, even more so that you could still smile and say hi on your last lap!!!

:lmao: I panted all the way round till I got to you, then I composed myself and smiled:lmao:

We have a good friend that is 3 star Army General he was head of Rdedstone back in the 80s when we were there. Oh the stories he tells. Yesterday was the Triathalon here in Panama City when I was driving home after midnight people were still competing! Think CC will be too cold to swim? I am a wimp I live in Florida! Gators are making a comeback! I am wondering if the transfers from the resort to PC will be early since maybe there will not be as many people? I am trying to schedule my Mom a massage at Jambo and will like to do it that day. I am thinking 930am. I can do it earlier but would prefer the am of the cruise. I have heard the busses do not pick up until at least 11am.
Lexi

We stayed at AKL last week and were picked up at 1115, stopped at 3 more stops (All Star Resorts), then were at the pier by 1300 and on the ship by 1330.
Phil.

This is great info. We are still undecided if we are using DCL transportation or other company. One main goal us to just be on the ship in time to grab lunch at Parrot Cay.

I better get onboard for lunch.
Was thinking I will have to take extra jeans and sweatshirts as well for sitting outside to eat.
I am going to check out virgin and see how much it is for a extra case.

Lynne, I was actually really excited about being forward...we are close to the spa, the adult area, the gym and the front for Sunrises and PC day :woohoo:
I'm a slow runner so I'll run with you and you can come get me on your way up, but I am planning on getting up at 6!!:scared1:

~Melissa

I have to say our last cabin aft deck 2 was brilliant for getting to dinner on time!
I will probably be up around 6 too, esp as my time clock will be out.
the gym opened at 7 I think if I mind right on the ta cruise, its great running early, you get the sunrises, pilot boats but mind on port days they shut the front of deck 4 off.

I am an early riser too! We can all hold hands! No one will get by us!!!!!!:rotfl2:

'Morning everyone :)

I'm running on 3 hours of sleep - had a major malfunction of two of our freezers at work last night, so I was in the store with the fridge mechanics until nearly 3am this morning (then had to come home and sort out uniforms, swimming costumes, lunches, etc.) At least the time went quickly - it's so easy to do a heap of work with no customers in sight :lmao:

I have DS at home from school today - he's caught my cold from last week. Thankfully, everyone else seems to have been spared, but I won't hold my breath for another week or so.

DD1's exams started this morning. Fingers crossed she does OK, although I try not to stress - it's only year 8 :teacher:

Anyway, onto things cruise-related....

WOOOOHOOOO to the first lot of cabin assignments ! I'll bet it's like opening a present on Christmas morning :) I hope the other cabins start coming thick and fast for the rest of you.

Lynne - that's the attitude - we'll be on a Disney cruise - it's all good. And hey, you can come camp out down the rear of Deck 5 with me if you start suffering forward-ship-itis ;)

Man, I've forgotten what else I wanted to reply to - sorry ! I'm heading back to the lounge for a snooze while DS tunes in to the dulcit tones of Spongebob (oops - probably shouldn't mention a rival character ! :rolleyes1 ).

46 days until we leave home !

I'll BBL.

Cheers,
Sally :)

sally, what do you do? freezers and swim costumes dont sound .... logical!!!

hope all are well and exams go well!

LOL Sherri - it does seem illogical, doesn't it ?

I'm the weekend duty manager for a Supermarket, which means I manage the store from 4pm when the rest of the store management goes home. TBH, I'd much rather something go wrong while I'm in the store, and stay back, rather than what happened a couple of weeks ago, which was a phonecall from our Alarm monitoring company at 3.15am to say the store alarm was going off..... :sad2: (I'm the meat dept. manager on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and build all the adstock ends on Mondays - not riveting work, but it's less than a mile from my house and the kids' school, so I can't complain).

I have another job, which is head cook at the kids' school, but that's been on hold this year while they've been renovating. I LOVE that job.

So many jobs.... for what ? Disney, of course !

The swimming costumes were for the kids - they have swimming lessons at school every Monday.

As for the exams - well, not enough study done - she has the intelligence to blitz them, but the proverbial will hit the fan sooner rather than later when she sits state-wide exams....

Cheers,
Sally :)

Sorry - not cruise-related, but the warm weather has finally hit ! The result ? a cacophony of cicadas outside ! Added to that, I can see the first lavendar blooms on my Jacaranda tree :) I LOVE this time of year :thumbsup2
