Thanks for the cute Halloween photos- I only had 2 trick or treaters (a niece and nephew) so enjoy seeing all the cuties we will be able to enjoy on the cruise.

I might be intrested in being a champaign girl- I'll check with DH to see if he cares. (He's in Taiwan right now but has been gone for 3 weeks with 2 more to go.)

I'm getting excited and am glad people are getting all the projects/papers done and out of the way and those who were unwell are on the mend.

I will be doing the CC5K also just to help keep in shape for the Princess in Feb.

Have a great day Cruisers!

I'll bet Mike won't care as long as you don't ask HIM to wear a tiara and a pink boa!:lmao:

If anyone is staying in Port Canaveral the Residence was fantastic. It was much better than the Radison. But when we stayed at the Radison both the Carnival Dream and magic were in port so that may have been the problem. Everyone was so nice. I would stay there in a heartbeat again. The Residence inn has a nice hot tub and a tiki bar at night too.
Lexi

Deserves a REPEAT.

Sorry, Ive been mia.

We had a Halloween party at the weekend, 60 folks !! It was hard work, we live in a tiny hamlet,we have a community hall we all use, it was great fun but HARD work.

So......its all hottin gup now.

RE the 5k.

LAst time I took naes and we all araanged to meet, we docked early and I hung about to meet everybody, no one turned up out of about 20:lmao:
All week I kept getting messages from dissers saying they werent doing it, I kept getting mixed up,as they would say there real names,so I didnt know who was coming and who was not, so as much as it would be fun doing it as a group its not worth the hassle, I will justy hope disney orginise it, and another fyi, NOBODY had a clue where the 5k route went, the way they sent us was more like a 9 k route!!

:rotfl2: I'll say that's the reason why I'm not walking or running it.

Lynne, I keep a 'cheat sheet' with disboard names vs real names - it's the ONLY way this old lady can keep 'em straight.

No one ever comes T or T in our neighborhood so we neither buy nor turn on the light. Wouldn't you know, last night at quarter to 6 a bunch rang our doorbell. And rang it and rang it, although you can see through the whole first floor from the door and it was OBVIOUSly empty. Eventually, they went away, and that was it for the rest of the night - none. nada. zip.

How many adults are planning to "dress" for pirate night?
We'll be at Palos so nope! Do like seeing all the costumes!

thanks for this heads up. we're still deciding.

I was told anything pre-wrapped is ok. They can't accept homemade from people they don't know (isn't it sad that that is necessary). They love chocolate, even if it is melted. When I asked them what they need or like they answered back in the thank you note that they can always use socks. I was also told pre-paid phone cards. I've sent pudding cups, fruit cups and current car and sports magazines.
I got the name of this squad from another disboard member, I think it is her nephew's company. The USPS gives a slight discount when I mail to a FPO address. I list "chaplain" as a second delivery name should the lst not be there. If anyone wants the name and address to send their own package pm me.

val

We send stuff to troops all the time at work. They also need toiletries and snacks they can throw in their BDU pockets and books and magazines and LETTERS and instant coffe/coffee bags (like tea bags but coffee) and a myriad of other things. the list that comes out is longish but if you want me to copy it i will. btw, I work at the Dept of Defense D.C.

Sounds like a good idea.

I will dress up. DH might bring the Pirate shirt that he bought on the WBTA.

Graham really wanted to do this, but we could not find it in the Navigator or on the Castaway Cay flyer :confused3. I had planned to walk it, but in any case I was not well enough for this on the day. Graham is still teasing me that I was landsick. I woke up and felt really dizzy. When I was laying down, I was fine, but as soon as I was up and about, I felt dizzy and nauseous.

Corinna, disney never done it, we orginized it ourselves, I think disney never offered it because we arrived so late at cc.
Len,me and Tony ran it, Sarah walked it, the route they told us was way too long, len had his running garmin on and we ran for nearly 9k or something ridik, it was SO hot!

DH and I will be there. Looking forward to meeting everyone. Valerie, this is really neat! (oh no, did I show my age by saying 'neat' ???) Is it copyrighted or may I use it on my scrapbook or make a magnet of it?

That brings me to another question. About the graphics shown on this forum, or they copyrighted or may I use them?

I'm in a quandary....my hair is long and the back is down to the bottom of my shoulder blades. Thinking about cutting it really short. Should I or shouldn't I and if I should do I do it before the meet so I'm recognized on the ship or do I wait? Have hair appt on Thursday for color. I know this is really silly for a 60 year old to be having such an indecisive moment! :confused3:confused3:confused3

Oh, it is such a shame that we did not know about this. Graham would have loved to join you.

Corinna, on my first 4 day cruise (this is cruise #3, how many were disney - ALL of course) i was fine on the ship. miraculous since i get carsick and seasick so easily, but once we got to the airport, oh my, was i dizzy anda a bit nauseous. Nausea went away (we were at the airport 6 hours) but stayed dizzy and the airport refused to stop rocking up and down - nor the air plane nor the BWI airport here in maryland....sleep that night helped!! LoL

Maybe this is really what it was then. I suffer from motion sickness (especially in cars, on buses and on certain rides), but fortunately I don't get seasick. We had some rough seas on two cruises and I was absolutely fine. I have done 7 cruises now (5 on Disney) lasting between 4 and 14 nights, but this was the first time this happened to me. Normally I get the moving ground for a day or two after getting of the ship, which was not the case this time at all. Coming to think of it, the only time that day I felt OK other than when I was laying down was when I was in the sea.

Glad to know that I will still be thinking about my hair in a "few" years ... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: .. I just made my pre-cruise hair appt yesterday.

Of course you can copy it or anything else you might want to do with it. I have no pride of ownership. Bob took the picture at CC the last time we were there. If you want a copy of the whole thing, with the beach and sail boat in it to, let me know,

Irrespective of if this is going to go ahead, I am happy to bring a set of tools.

No, other than that my employer flies there. I lost a lot of weight over the last year and had to face essentially replacing my whole cruise wardrobe. I am still a plus size though and just could not find anything that was sufficiently formal for my taste, would fit me and not break the bank. I Googled "Plus size evening gown" and got a link for an Ebay seller. I saw the dress and had fallen in love. It would be custom made to my measurements and I had a wide choice of styles and colours. It took me a further 3 months until I was brave enough to contact the seller with some questions. This initially interaction was very positive and I decided to give it a go. The dress was cheap as far as evening gowns go so I had not too much to lose. The seller was a charm to deal with and when the dress arrived, it literally took my breath away. This would have been easily worth 4 times what I paid. The quality was outstanding and it was a perfect fit. Here is a photo of the first dress:

So when we were discussing dressing up for Villains Night, I had a quick looks around for purple dresses locally, but soon ended up on Ebay again. This came from a different seller, but he was also based in Shanghai and just as much a joy to deal with as the first one. This is the second dress:

The new dress is coming from the same seller as the second dress.

Plan made. I seem to have the best ideas when I am in the pool. I had a nice long swim today and came up with what I could offer. I will PM you later and also cross post to here so that people can sign up if interested.

I would appreciate this. I am thinking in terms of a more advanced workshop as well. Last time round I did the same projects in every workshop and I have to say this got a little boring for me. This time round I am thinking about making different stuff in each workshop. I will also make the groups smaller.

I am glad that you enjoyed your time at WDW.

Corinna

They both look amazing; however, the white one is beyond words! I love it!

oh yeah!!! late night gathering, low key sitting and talking, yeah!!! someone talked about sunrise - i dont know - is there a sunrise on vacation?? oh yeah, maybe as you're heading off to bed after sitting in the Cove chatting with new friends!!

I sure hope I am still sleeping at sunrise! :rotfl2:

We sure did get 5 inches of snow and it sure didn't help that it rained half an inch the day before....ug

I am starting to try to catch up. I have been frighteningly ill :sick:for 8 blasted weeks. It included a hemiplegic migraine (presents like a stroke!?!?!?) on Sep 19th (I rarely even get standard headaches so this was quite alarming). I was such a mess I had to ask my parents to come and look after me (I am 42). Dr's are calling the whole nasty business viral and happily I am feeling better.

I WAS TERRIFIED I WOULD HAVE TO CANCEL THIS CRUISE!!!!!

Happily I did not and when the fog started to lift my parents said...

CAN WE COME TOO?

So my Mom and Dad are coming along. I am so pleased for them. They are going to have a marvelous time.

I did manage to get to WDW for the wine and dine half but did not run. The doctors wouldn't even let me go on rides in case I had a brain tumor (MRI says no tumor - yippee!).

I shall spend the next few days doing some catching up and signing up. I was stunned to see 10 weeks!!!!!!

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate it! I celerate anything I can get my hands on!

Les

I am glad your doing better and didn't have to cxl the cruise!
After all the snow you'll have you will need to warm up come Jan!
How fun to have your parents join you.

LOVE the Halloween pictures! Both of our girls were pirates also - will be seeing those on the cruise as well.

Rattlesnakes. Blech. Hate em - We did not see too many this year but the few we killed were all big ones. Blech again.

Wish we could make the NorCal Meet.

cousins ditched out on surfing lessons in Cabo for swimming with the dolphins. Anyone interested??

Still have to do tshirts:rotfl: and still waiting on that stateroom assignment.....

Did anyone notice some categories are now sold out. I don't see any category 4 or 7 and some of the others are very limited.

My husband and I have just booked this cruise.:cool1: Is it too late to join the FE list. We are very excited to meeting everyone. We currently have a gty room.

Finally caught up after 5 days with my son at Ft. Wilderness in my RV for Halloween. We had an AWESOME time and I had a blast going to the Food and Wine Festival with my friends Jack and Debbie! It was really cool to go into Epcot via Italy with Jack (he is a VP at Disney) and get to see all the behind the scene's stuff. I even got a tour of the Imagineering offices - which was awesome! There was a picture of the Disney Dream hanging on the wall that took up an entire hallway!

We really had a blast and I can't wait to go back next year for Halloween!
