very nice Harole Ann! i'm more and more suprised at how dressy homecoming has become! i liked it when i was in high school - before electricity was discovered - when we wore jeans and high school memorabelia and it was about bringing home alumni! sigh. but they are great pictures, great looking folks!
Sherri

sally, when we both are packed, we'll have to say what we are wearing - we have something line 9pm ressie at Palos the same night!!

i just got a tax bill for my dad for virginia. i thought all his taxes were paid up. Man, i had no idea how expensive it was for him to live!! otoh it was more for him to die, and the biggest expense is my broken heart! but i'll pay it for him. and notify them with a death cert so they stop charging. sigh. (it was property, paid at end of period...)

we are late dining so we wont see each other at normal dinners!!

can someone tell me how to quote more than one person at a time??

also did anyone know abut the air tran travel points once SW takes over totally??

Sherri

Just hit on the "quote" button at the bottom of the page and when you are ready to post hit the reply button on the left side.

I am so sorry for all of your recent hearbreak. Tax issues are something you don't need on top of the great loss you have already experienced. I know all too well how you feel. Only time can help you heal and good memories.

All of the wonderful people on this board have been such a blessing to me. Now if I can just get through November, which will be Garry's birthday and Thanksgiving and by Christmas I will be with my dd, sil, and grandson Ryan who is taking me on this great cruise.

Thank you everyone! You have no idea what your friendship has done for me. I never thought I would want to go to WDW or a cruise again and Ryan has made the cruise possible and I am getting so excited about everything! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!:grouphug:

I agree about the dresses. Some of them were obsene! When my kids were in high school they wore a nice sweater and dress slacks and my dd wore a pretty sweater and a nice skirt -- something they could wear to church. What a change. I am glad I am not paying the bill!:laughing:They are a good looking couple, even if I am partial!

In the bottom right hand corner of all the messages there is a box that says quote, next to it is a smaller box with " in it. click that to get the forum to remember messages that you want to multiquote. When you get to the last message you want to quote, click the 'quote' button and you will then get the reply box with all the messages you want to quote. Just insert your replies between the original quotes.

I think Kay gave you a better answer!

Jasmine & I are going off to bed and turn on the electric blanket! She is one happy camper with this new blanket. Just wish I could find a 1,000 foot extention cord and take it to the football game!:rotfl2:

My husband taught small boat ops, when he was in the Coast Guard. He taught them how to run a boat at night, including in the rain and during the winter. His feet would be frozen when he got home. I found him a pair of electric socks. They each had a D battery you strapped onto your leg and then a wire went through the wool sock. He loved them. I think they sold them as hunting socks.

Oh how embarrassing! The Giants just handed us a Texas size butt kickin'

Sorry, didn't even read all the prior posts, I'm just sick! I'll try to catch up tomorrow.

Nah, they just had one bad inning out of nine. Not that I'm not happy that the Giants won, but I don't think you should let the final score determine how well the Rangers played cuz they actually played very well.

Carmen - I agree with Melissa, CJ Wilson (Rangers) pitched a great game it just went a little south after that.

Sally (emum) - We have Main dining if you want to add us to the group.

Harole Ann - lovely Homecoming pics!

My Dad is sailing in the Baja Ha-Ha from San Diego to Cabo and back to San Diego so it was nice to get an email from him today letting us know he's made it through their first leg to Turtle Bay. He took up sailing after my Mom passed away twelve years ago and has a great time with his friends on these trips.

Don't be worry. Now that they will be going home I am sure they will be revitalized.

I hope the Giants don't get to confident 'cause your Rangers have shown again and again they are winners.

Lovely couple. :thumbsup2 I have no idea what homecoming is, though I have heard the term over the years. Seems it has become a major event, like a prom or something.

We didn't used to have proms over here, just an end of year or school disco or something, now we have proms and all the expensive trimmings. I wonder if we will get homecomings anytime soon. Maybe when clothing/limo/etc companies latch on to being able to make even more money out of parents they will start advertising it!!

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers! (too darn early, but I wasn't sleeping, so might as well get up and on here)

Yeah, unfortunately, as long as you own the property, you gotta pay pay pay. It took us about 4 months to finally close on my mother-in-law's house.

 The sun *will* shine for you again, Harole Anne.

This bears repeating! IT took me FOR EVER to learn to do it properly,

The kids look great.

At our school, homecoming was the weekend when there was a big game. Alums would come home. Friday night would be the big casual bonfire and dance with a dj, then Saturday would be the game, and Saturday night the "dressier" dance - not a prom exactly - but definitely coat and tie, with live music.

I'm old, so back in 'my day' there was no limos - the long suffering parents drove - and we might have gone to a supper club, after.

Happy day, all.

Hey, how is your puppy doing? Has Gus accepted her yet?

Baja Ha-Ha...great name! With a name like that you know your dad will have fun! It must have eased your mind to know he is okay =0)

Harole Ann- Love the pictures. My three grandchildren are 8,5,4 and I love to go to their soccer games, dance receitals, and other functions. they are going through a hard time now with the divorce but hopefully things will be better soon.

I have started to pack for FL. I am trying to put my cruise things together in certain crates and the rest of the stuff in others. There are more crates than I realized. It is a good thing we will be taking our camper with us. All this stuff would never fit in the car.

Have a good day everyone

Sally (emum) - We have Main dining if you want to add us to the group.

Shall do, Angela :)

Just a quick one, as it's 1am here - Liz and I are about to finalise our booking for Happy Limo from BWI to the Port. Is there anyone wanting to join us ? The more, the merrier !! :yay::woohoo::cool1::banana:

We need to know by Monday, so if you could PM either me or Liz, that'd be great.

Must take this weary head to bed.

'night all.

Cheers,
Sally :)

I went to a private, Christian school and originally homecoming was all they sponsored. For us it wasn't even a dance, it was just a formal banquet. The prom originally was sponsored by the senior class, although now it is a school sponsored function and is actually a dance. The school has loosened up over the years.:rotfl:
