We're you thinking of doing just the Manuel Antonio Park or were you adding a boat tour too?

We're still on the fence as which tour we want to do. We originally thought of doing the Monteverde Trainforest and we like the sound of ValBob's too.

we're that way for most of the other ports too - this is our first cruise so we're feeling overwhelmed with all the choices and not too worried about missing out on excursions since we're really looking forward to exploring the ship and spending downtime together as a family....i'll have to check with my cousin about the boat tour but i'm pretty sure they offer that - his company is small and they customize tours a bit so he may be able to add that in...my knees are not great for climbing etc and we have a four year old with us so we're taking a low-impact, family friendly visit/tour - mainly to see the wildlife and visit with family...there are 3 other guides in the company i believe so my cousin would work with them to put a tour together if folks are interested...or you could do a more private/custom tour for a smaller group

Oh, I must listen more closely.

And me 41+ years ago on our honeymoon!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Yes, napping is more like it nowadays.;)

Ah thank you. I will listen for that, but it obviously isn't as clear as the original. I thought the original was much more of the date of the thing.

Mmmmm, pashing. Now that sounds very younger generation, and perhaps a little more involved than simple snogging!!!;)
Pashing,lol
You know, the word "pashing" still makes me cringe ! It takes me straight back to 1986 at Luna Park, and my first ever real "pash" :scared1: Suffice to say, it involved braces on teeth, and the swapping of saliva :rotfl:

Sorry for that visual !

I had THE singularly most boring day of my life at my course today. One guy kept falling asleep and the girl next to him kept having to nudge him to get him to wake up. The worst part is I have part two tomorrow....

I emailed Katie from DU with all our DL restaurant bookings last night - fingers crossed we get the reservations we want (I'll hear back in a couple of days).

Oh, add me to the people mover lovers. I was very bummed it was taken down at DL, so I can't wait to get on the one at WDW :)

Anyway, I've got to get kids into bed - have a great morning / day / evening everyone.

Cheers,
Sally :)
I hope your day is better, it is JUST horrible trying to stay awake at things like that, well, its ok if the lights are dimmed, brings back memories of our weekends away at lectures, we were all hungover and tired trying to liten to some one about blood smears or something:confused:
Good Morning, Everyone!

Day shift, checking in :)

The old lady's mind is a sieve - WHO is keeping the list of who's staying where the night before?

Hope you all have a good one!
Sorry, I cant mind either so its probably not your age.
Your party from Saturn has arrived, please give them a ring....

From the sad but true file, Jeff probably has a record with friends of ours for the most rides on the TTA in a day. He and some friends rode it 50 times. :scared1: They came well prepared, including a portable TV. The cast members had a ball with them. The entire ride became interactive. For old times sake I had to pull off the usenet group (rec.art.disney.park) what they did:
(Jeff posted this 12/13/00 - literally 2 days after we were engaged)
Jeff - 50 Laps
Julie - 50 Laps
Richie - 50 Laps
Kenny - 40 Laps
Brian - 37 Laps
Rob - 34 Laps
And about 26 other people stopped by for other amounts (Julie - post
the list)

RADP'ers did a total of 411 laps of the TTA on 12/13 and the top 4
were presented with certificates marking the achievement by Disney
Cast. We also had at least 4 different groups of people who stayed on
our train for a second lap around because they enjoyed riding so much.
Also, not a single complaint was recieved by Disney management or TTA
CM's. We also invented our own version of an interactive script.

1. When shirley is working the platform (Either unload or load) start
clapping

<clap> <clap> shirley! and repeat

2. When passing alien encounter rythymically clap to any odd country
you can think of, imitating a brazilian tour group (Kazakhstan seemed
to be a favorite)

3. When passing speedway, yell and wave at back bridge CM until they
wave back (Repeat exiting space mountain)

4. When the overhead voice says "presented by federal express" the
group leader says "By Who?" and everyone yells "Federal Express"

5. When approaching COP, start singing there's a great big beautiful
tomorrow

6. Inside buzz lightyear - when announcement says "Zurg", leader says
"Who?" Everyone says "Zurg", when announcement says "Buzz Lightyear's
Space Ranger Spin" Leader says "His what?" Everyone repeats - "His
Space Ranger Spin"

7. When announcer says "A time machine"
Leader: A What?
Everyone: A Time Machine!
L: A What?
E: A Time Machine!
A: Take you through time
L: Where?
E: Through Time!
L: Where?
E: Through Time!
L: A What?
E: A TIME MACHINE!!!!

And again, check the platform to see if shirley is working :)

Finally, on the last trip, to the tune of Camptown Races - we sang

We've Been Riding all day long - do dah do dah
We've been riding all day long - all the do dah day
Gonna Ride all night, Gonna ride all day
I think we've all gone insane, on the TTA

Tiggerfan
Successfully rode car 25 for 50 laps on 12/13 :)

Also, was the first person known to have his engagement announced on
the TTA ride PA system so that all of tomorrowland could hear.

To be that young a stupid again!:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

Thats brilliant..........thansk for sharing, weve not been to disney world for years now, last time hard rock and universal, need to get back soon.
DEO they have this ride in Ca?

re dining.... another disser pmd me ages ago and asked if we wanted to share a table, I sent her our rezzy number after we could book palo and stuff but shes not been one for months, It seems mean of me to connect now with someone else, I hope she gets back to me, cause I dont want to miss an oppertunity to have some other table mates. We love meeting new folks and would be dissapointed if it was just the 4 of us.

I did so want to see some of Costa Rica and was very excited to see that this cruise was stopping there, but we don't like long trips and it looks like all the trips are long just to get somewhere interesting. In fact John really doesn't like trips at all!!!:confused3 I think it is shame to visit somewhere and not get at least an idea of the place. If nothing else we like to get off the ship and walk around, but some places just aren't suitable for that.

The only thing I have booked so far is a tour of Aruba. We just walked around the the local area last time, so thought we would make more of an effort. Still might cancel that though.

We did the Cabo by land and sea last time, or whatever it is called, and I thought that was pretty good.

PV we were just got off for a walk last time and John went over to Walmart, but this time we were going to walk the 30 mins or so to the town centre, but I am not too sure about that now.

Manzanillo I'm thinking of the city tour and shopping, but that is not something John would like.

We just love being on the ship, but i like to get off occasionally.:lmao::lmao:

Good morning everyone. We are headed to Ohio to see DH's mom and my folks tomorrow for the weekend. I hope to squeeze in one more trip before we leave for Florida in December but we shall see how that pans out.

Sunny, bright and breezy here today. Sure was windy yesterday though - the high wind warning is in effect through this evening so I guess it isn't over yet. It was dark when I left this morning but I did see one branch down and saw a few more on my trip in - as best as one can see in the dark anyway.

Ok, kids in bed, uniforms ready....

Was wondering earlier - are any of you planning on trying to arrange dinner tables together ? Maybe it's been discussed already ? My DH is rather un-adventurous when it comes to meeting new people, and will probably want a table with just the six of us, but I reckon it'd be fun to see if we can get a table near to somebody else we "know" (even if it's just a little.... :) ) Is such a request possible ?

Cheers,
Sally :)

Considering that we're about 12-13% of the people on the boat (And based on sales #'s probably closer to 16-18%) I'd say it's a safe bet that you'll end up near someone you know :)

If anyone has main dining with small child(ren) and would like to link dining please send me a PM. We have a DD who will be a month shy of 3yo at time of cruise. With so few children on this cruise it would be nice to link dining with another family with little one(s). We've done this on our last 3 cruises and met some wonderful people that we still keep in touch with. Plus it's been nice that the little ones keep each other entertained and we can actually have adult conversation during dinner.

That would be me! :goodvibes Just shoot me a PM and I'll get you added.

I'm so excited, my sis and her boys are most likely coming for a visit this weekend. :woohoo: I haven't seen them since her youngest was born in June.

I may be heading up to Dallas next weekend (11/5-7). I know someone (was it you Tenya?) that mentioned a Dallas meet. Is anyone up for it then?

Tenya,
You don't have to worry about shipping ours...just give it to us at the cruise terminal.

I will get ours when we see you at the port or on ship.

Judy and Charlotte, Thanks . . . I'll have your bracelets at port.

Linda, Carmen (carmie3377) is organizing the lists of who's staying where before and after the cruise.

It's the first really crisp fall morning here in north Texas. We're actually supposed to be in the 40s Friday morning. Guess I'll be wearing a jacket when I head off to jury duty.

We would love to link dinner ressies with someone on early seating. Preferably someone with a daughter close in age to Carly.

Happy day and go Rangers!

Yep, it was me. I would love to have a meet somewhere. Glad your sis and nephews will be coming. Will the stay for trick or treating?

I would like to link up with other peeps for dinner. Not necessarily to share tables (but that is OK too), but to be on the same rotation and close by. Our kids will invariably 'dine and play' which means eat and run back to the kids clubs. Thus DH and I will be left alone for 15 evenings and meeting new friends for dinner conversation would be fantastic (dare I say, needed!).

We are on late dining. I am happy to co-ordinate a list for late diners. I would hope DU would be able to put in the request for me (I am not a very demanding customer :lmao: ) I understand we would need names and reservation numbers to pass on to Disney.

Anyone interested?

DCL organised this on our TA we have just been on. A thread member co-ordinated early and someone late dining, but I don't know how it was organised. We didn't join in as we had friends with us, but it appeared everyone enjoyed the whole 'same area' experience. I presume, if people hadn't already linked dining with people to share tables that DCL just allocated them together.

Thanks, Carmen. I got it.

Sherri, The $1.50 was including shipping from the company and postage from my house to yours.

Tami, I'm not sure the extra $.40 from your $4 will cover postage. I'll have to do a test trial when I get them.

Just to clarify, the shipping I referred to was from the company to my house. That leaves $.20 per bracelet for shipping from my house to yours. I'll have to see how much postage actually is before I decide to mail them out or bring them to the port.

Night all,
tenya

Sorry for my confusion about the shipping :confused3, picking them up at the pier is fine with me. But, I am still a bit confused:confused3:confused3. I sent $4 to paypal for 2 bracelets. If they are $1.50 each that's an extra $1, so that would be $1.40 extra. Still I say keep the change for your efforts in organizing this!:cool1:

That sounds great, somewhere on the North Dallas side would work best for me. I always go to Grapevine Mills to hit the Disney Outlet while I'm there. Do you ever do any shopping there? Or do you have any suggestion of where? I haven't lived up there in almost 7 years and usually I'm running back and forth between Lewisville, Denton, and Gainesville. I'm open for suggestions :goodvibes

My sis has to leave on Sunday morning but her oldest (age 4 and just 6 weeks older than my DS) is likely staying for the week and I'll take him back with me when I go the following weekend. He'll go trick or treating with us Sunday. But on Saturday, our Town Center is having TorT so we'll probably do that too just in case he decides to not stay. He's never been away from home that long so he may decide at the last minute he doesn't want to leave his Mommy. I hope he wants to stay :goodvibes

Why dont we wait till the amount of people staying has been posted then we can decide where?
I have a suite, I would eveb mind using my room, but your not getting in the bath, lol.
Well....maybe if you mind your cozy.:rotfl2: 6-8 sounds good.
Do you want to keep a list or I could do it?

Well, if you are generously offering your suite, it might be best for you to keep a list. I look forward to meeting you! :flower3:

On Sunday, a few of us discussed what night were formal, femi-formal etc...I said I would repost the days...here we go:

Night 3 - Formal
Night 10 - Semi-formal
Night 11 - Pirate
Night 14 - Formal

DCL has not advised of any other theme nights as of now- if I hear anything- will let you know!

Did you all see that the new ships will have horns that will not only play "When you wish upon a star" but also answer back with the next line of the song.

Sounds cool. Really, really, really hope we get to hear it and see the Dream at Castaway Cay.

Wonder if they will retrofit the other ships?

Thank you for posting this. I am surprised that the last formal night is on the 14th, the day we are in Cabo and not the 15th, the last night. I guess because we depart early, 3:30, they decided it would be ok.

On past cruises it was determined that the room concierges were able/willing to provide the schedule information sooner and more accurately then anyone you called at DCL.

I would love to! We are a group of 8 so I don't know if we could fit more at our table, but it would be nice to be in the same rotation. On the last 3 cruises, DD made friends with kids who just happened to be in our rotation. It was great because they could run off when done (and I knew what she would be doing) and we could relax and drink coffee =0). We are late seating and DD is 12.
