Had a wonderful time starting to get to know Desiree, Richard & Tori (A Little Pixie Dust) , Marie & Kevin (Luvin all Disney), Suzan & Tony (Sumeto), Melissa & Mikayla (DCL Travler), Monica (& son whose name I never got), getting reacquainted with Laura (Eeyorelvr10) and introducing all of them to Wyndi & Tennessee (Wyndi Mother)! The picnic area outside DLR was a GREAT meeting place. Everyone brought their own food and got there when they could. We hung out for a few hours trading stories and having a good time. I think Des or Laura will post pix later.

Hope those who went all had a great time at DCA! Wish we could have joined you all but we had too much to do! But now I'm even MORE excited for this awesome cruise!

My DS and and I went and we were there for few hours! I haven't laughed so much in a long time. :rotfl: So many interesting stories  and lots of information! (May be too much....carried pennies where????!!!! :rolleyes1 ) I want to thank everyone that went I learned a lot! If we are only a small % of everyone going, and we had so much fun; it is going to be WONDERful trip!

Greetings everyone!
Also checking in from our meet today...it was so great to meet everyone and put names to faces and now I'm even more excited to get on the ship!!

~Melissa

I'm glad the So Cal meet went well and it sounds like you all had a fun time. You must've had better weather than we did in Nor Cal. It's been a rainy weekend up here.

GREAT photos :) Sounds like you all had an absolute ball ! Makes me even more excited to be going on the cruise  A bunch of crazy Disney nuts all on one beautiful liner - what could be better ?!?! :woohoo:

I have a favour to ask, though - could someone make a note of who's who in the picture ? Thanks :)

I'm procrastinating.... I should be sewing on Cub Scout badges on three uniforms... this is more fun, though ;)

Cheers,
Sally :)

Great photos of the meet. You all look pretty normal anyway!!! ;)You know what the internet is supposed to be like!!!:lmao::lmao: Our children are always worried when we meet 'strangers' from the internet!!!:rotfl2:

We are meant to be staying at my cousins, unfortunatly he had a very mild stroke(he is 38) it turns out he has a hole in his heart that caused a thrombus, anyway, I am very worried about him, we all love him and are very worried, he is out hosp now but going back in next week for heart surgery , not sure if our plans will be changing or not.
And THAT ladies and gentlemen is the reason I dont sweat the little things in life.

Hey Corina, youre very welcome re the sweets, I am planning to bring some more for these guys, will have to think of something else for the trans atlantic peeps.

Sorry to hear about your cousin. Not good to have to deal with ut i bet he recovers very quickly from this.

As far as the tablet is concerned, we would love that again!!!!;)

Our experience has always been right around the 45 day mark give or take a day. That is also when free upgrades have appeared on our reservation.

There could be upgrades at the port if the cruise is not sold out though, even if you know your room number. Usually they do it at the assignment time though.

Some people might upgrade themselves at the port. I can't remember if we have someone with a bigger dry wipe board that cabin changes could be noted for FE deliveries etc We can all pop by there to check before doing deliveries. Because we have just done a cruise, I can't remember what has been organised for which cruise now!:rotfl:

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned those of us in the lifeboats on the 2008 PC cruise had a graphic someone put on T shirts. A fellow cruiser here asked to see it. I have eventually contacted the person as they were on vacation, so here is a copy.

My friend at work, her grand dad was a dentist, she is always telling me stories about her grandad.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing in bed last night at 2am, sometimes I wonder about myself.

Are you serious re Edinburgh, that would be really, really cool.
I can pick you up at the airport,or meet you in town , we can do something, I will kick Len out for the night, the hard rock is fab in Edinburgh, although some nice country plaves we could go to.

Graham would be very happy with some more tablet. You should have seen his face while he was enjoying his treat.

As to Edinburgh, yes, I am serious. I am just waiting for the December schedule to come out, which should be around 7th November to see if this would work before Christmas. I have only been in Edinburgh once in 2004, but loved it.

Hi everyone. Just finishing up a rainy weekend in the Bay Area. Everyone is still excited about the Giants.

Since there are so many experienced cruisers on here I was hoping to get some info that Disney would not help with. What has been your experience with when you find out your stateroom number when you have a GTY room? Disney just said "any time" which doesn't help much? Has anyone been GTY until they checked in at the terminal? That would be very inconvenient for planning the room tours/FE etc.

When we were GTY in 2008, we got our room assignment 35 days out. This year for the Med cruise and WBTA, we got it at 45 days out. I all cases there were people who got it earlier and some people who got it later, but the bulk was around those timings.

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

I have seen that you are sorted now, but I have another suggestion. I am not sure though if you can get them in USA as they are a UK brand. I have very wide feet and never could find any shoes that I liked. In summer, somebody pointed me to Irregular Choice shoes. They range from cute to quirky. A lot of them have heels that I struggle with, but they also have flats. I also found out that I can wear their kitten heels without upsetting my ankle.

I'm on it! THANK YOU!

. . . For the WBTA, I had very basic business cards printed from Vista Print with a nice graphic for the cruise on front and my full name, DIS name and email address on the back. I added this to each gift so that people knew who it came from and also gave them a way to stay in touch afterwards if they wanted.

Corinna

I love this idea - I suppose address labels would work too.

Well worth a repeat :goodvibes

I believe Jeff is going to have that list posted by their door.

Will someone please repost the information on the possibilites for the Northern California meet so I can put it up on the first page?

Happy Day, All!

Lynne, I am so sorry to hear about your cousin and you are absolutely right, I don't sweat the little things in life, either. I hope everything works out for him. My sister has had two open heart surgeries to repair a hole and replace a valve. If you saw her out and about today you would never guess she had any health problems, I wish the same for your cousin.

I waved at you last Sunday from the sailaway party on the Wonder. We had a fantastic, relaxing, do nothing cruise. Tom was the first one down the Pelican Plunge on Castaway Cay day, but I had to be satisfied with top 20, because I had to take a picture of him coming down the slide. Can't wait to do more sliding in January.
Thanks and yes, I watch eery sunday..
Sorry to hear about your cousion. Since Hospos is involved does that mean sugery it tempary or is their a chance of recovery. I will keep your family in my prayers!
thanks

45 day exactly last cruise.
Greetings everyone!
Also checking in from our meet today...it was so great to meet everyone and put names to faces and now I'm even more excited to get on the ship!!

I'm so glad the FE issue is resolved! The discussion was starting to get heavy there for a bit and I was getting uncomfortable. Sounds like the plan is do what you can...LOVE that idea!

Lynne, I'm sorry to hear about your cousin and glad that you will get to see him soon! I'm sure that with you being so far away it eases your mind to know you will get to see him in just a short while:goodvibes
So..."My lentils are minging?" Oh, do tell!! What does THAT mean?? I would love to throw that one into a sentence, but I don't know if I will be able to pull it off! It sure would be fun to try though!:thumbsup2
I did the same thing for this cruise that you want to do for the Dream (booked the day the cruise came out and then changed it when on the ship to get the discount). This is why I have a GTY and not a room assignment...you have to completely change the res and you cannot keep your original room. But, once you are done, you can transfer your res to another travel agent and still get all of the benefits of booking on board.

Tinkerbell129, I would be happy to walk you through it as I have now created shirts on Zazzle, uberprints and vistaprint (I just have to purchase them), but I don't know what you are confused about. Do you have the pics saved on your computer? If so, do you just need help creating the shirt? Or, do you need a walk through on saving the images and then putting them on??

Re: Hotel before and after cruise...I don't know where we are staying before the cruise, but we are flying in on the 5th and will be up bright and early to head to the ship. AFTER the cruise we will be staying at Casa de Melissa...it's a lovely resort about 1 hour from D-land and you get greeted by cheerful loving dogs (a brittney and a mutt to be exact):rotfl2:

I called DCL about when the GTY would change and they told me it was between 50 and 75 days, but after reading what the rest of you have said, that sounds somewhat inaccurate--I guess we'll see.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
~Melissa
thanks.

Great Corrina, let me know and we will sort it, Edinburgh is very pretty in December.

It was great to meet you two even though it was when we were getting off the Wonder. I look forward to seeing you in Jan.

We enjoyed meeting you, your wife and your mother, too. Still can't believe how long the customs line was. Look forward to seeing y'all in January.

Love the graphic for the GTY!!!!!! I would stay in a lifeboat if I had to = I would not want to miss this cruise;.

Glad the FE issue is at rest. If everyone does what they are comfortable doing things will be great.

Hope we can get something together for the precruise meet near Port Canaveral.

Yes, really about the fish extender. I'm quite happy to find stuff for everyone (Though my FE gift will end up on the door itself :) ) but if you aren't, I don't think anyone is going to care. We're really laid back.

Also, the list on the website is updated. If you aren't listed right, please PM me. I've given up on the deck map for now and will start updating it when these GTY cabins start clearing out.

Also, I'm removing the unconfirmed people this week.
