NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PRE-CRUISE MEETING

Plans are crystallizing for a Northern California (all are welcome) pre-cruise meeting to introduce ourselves. We need you to let us know your preference regarding the date, Saturday, 11-13-10 or Sunday, 11-14-10.
Also, your choice of the meeting’s location. Two suggestions are: the Disney Family Museum in San Francisco and Cuesta Park in Mountain View. Do you have another idea or would you like to suggest a location or meeting activities?
Let me know your ideas by next Wednesday 10-27. At that time we will share the tally and vote on a location.
Val

We prefer Sunday and Cuesta Park.
Shirley

Here's the Disney Dine Direct # if you want it...714-956-6755...they are usually very helpful and answer all my questions, including non dining related ones (I say that because the wait is usually shorter here than on the main line =0)
*Lots of love and luck for you DD-- I've been there so I know how tough it is, but she will probably be MUCH happier when she comes out on the other side.

I have friends who work for Sterling (Vineyards). Do you want me to see if they can get you a free wine tasting event? Technically, the wine tasting is free for everyone, but they have to pay for the gondola ride to the winery, so I guess I would be checking to see about free rides =0)

Thanks to all for the luck and its not too late..I have two more!

I hope you all have a wonderful day and weekend-- I get to go home tomorrow! Yippee!!

-Melissa

You too, I get to go home monday, I am usually then of for a week, but next week I am locuming for 3 nights to pay for the dream deposit,
Well, not really, but its much less painful to think that.:smooth:

Just booked our tickets for the flight home. We have decided to fly out of LAX on 1/21 at 12:40. Hope we're not stressing to get there!

Something I discovered that I thought I'd pass along since many of you fly SWA. Some of you may already know this. I know that this changed sometimes in the last year because this is the first time since last summer that I booked using ticketless travel funds. Anyway, you used to be able to apply up to 2 confirmation numbers as payment for each transaction. It didn't matter how many changes or people were on that confirmation number. Now, you can apply a total of up to 4 payments (including credit card) but each time you change and for each person it counts as separate ticket therefore separate payment. For example, DH and DS were on one comfirmation #. Since the the price went down 2 times and there were 2 people on the confirmation, that counts as 4 "tickets". Same thing for DD and I. Plus I had 6 "tickets" from a trip I took earlier in the month because each leg went down 3 times. So a total of 14 tickets for 4 confirmation. I thought I would be able to apply 2 confirmation #s to each transaction so I was again going to book DH and DS then DD and myself. Was I surprised when I put in that first confirmation # and 4 tickets popped up! In order to maximize my credits, I had to book each one of us separate and still have $20 in credits. I could only use 3 tickets/person because I had to leave that last payment open for my credit card portion. The biggest pain is going to have to be to check each one of us in individually. If I thought I would be able to use those funds by June of 2011, would not be a big deal but don't know for sure if we'll be flying somewhere where we can use SWA.

So, I hope I didn't confuse you. Again, some of you may already know this but it really surprised me! Still love SWA since they are at least allowing us to use the funds when tickets go down (saved me over $250). Just wanted to give everyone a head's up!!!

Wine tasting in the Napa Valley is an interesting thought as a location and activity. I'll add it to the list of options. If your friend can't get us into Sterling, there is always Sattui, which has a large picnic area. val

I ran into this too so I still have a $20 credit to apply to our return flights in Jan from SNA. Also keep in mind at the end of Jan 2011 the credits have to be used by the same passenger as the original ticket.

ROOM TOUR UPDATE
Here is a list of people who have generously offered their room at this time

PM me if you would like to make your cabin available when we finalize the tour list. val

Hi Val!

We have a 9B, let me just check with my DH and see if he's cool with being on the tour. :wizard:

Quick question - if shore excursions for me are bookable from 10/23, what time (and time zone) would that be ? I've got this awful feeling I'll be in the middle of my shift tonight when they open....

TIA.

Cheers,
Sally :)

Midnight eastern time. It would be the first minute (eastern time) of whatever day you can book on...hopefully that makes sense

Midnight EST for America (Florida time). If I remember right, Sydney is 15 hours ahead?

Hi Sally,

It's Midnight Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Added: Now I know I'm the slowest typist since everyone posted before me :)

Thanks for the collective replies, ladies :)

So, it's approaching 10pm on EST ATM, yes ? That's good, as I start work in 4 hours. I guess it'll come down to how quick the website is, as I'm sure it'll be inundated.

Thanks again.

Cheers,
Sally :)

Yes, it just passed 10pm EST here.

It seems that the weekend of November 13 works best for a Northern California pre-cruise meeting.
Two locations have been suggested:
1) Disney Family Museum in San Francisco and
2) Cuesta Park in Mountain View

I will send out a PM to the members of the thread who reside in N. Cal and post a general message for anyone else you might be interested, requesting a vote on making the meet date Saturday the 13th or Sunday the 14th. Also choice of location. However, before I do that, are there any other suggestions for a possible location? How about any other issues for consideration?
Val

DH and I are free on Sunday the 13th. Cuesta Park sounds like a great meeting place. :yay:

The Texas Rangers are going to the World Series!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

So excited, been waiting for this day for over 20 years!

Everytime you post this I sway from what we are supposed to be doing - the helmet dive at DePalm, I just think this sounds like so much fun. I will think hard again and let you know.

We would love to have you join us. Let us know if you decide it would be right for you.
