We will not get to fly out of LA until Saturday and I just can't find something fun to do or where I should stay in LA. I will be with my 9 year old son, but we live close to Disney World and I didn't think he would be impressed by Disneyland and we would only get one afternoon in the parks anyway.

Yup. I'm not serious about it any more, but enjoy swapping off cast lanyards. I buy a few each time on a ship or in a park -- but the days of buying more than 10 (or two of a kind) are loooong gone. Valerie has quit, but she was the real trader, on pinpics.com and bidding on ebay.

HOA meeting last night was acrimonious but interesting. If I ever move it will NOT be to an HOA community. Nice People seem to get elected to the board and morph into petty tyrants.

Do any of ya'll pin trade?

I'm no fanatic, but I will always trade for "Ursula" or Hunchback pins I have quite a stash of pins bought on ebay which I tend to 'gift' kids with to get them started.

HOA meeting last night was acrimonious but interesting. If I ever move it will NOT be to an HOA community. Nice People seem to get elected to the board and morph into petty tyrants.

You'd love our HOA. We don't do squat. There are only 10 houses in it. I tried several years ago to get neighbors involved. But other than the two events - NNO & garage sale - that I coordinated, no one has taken an interest in getting to know each other. So I gave up. Now all the HOA does is collect dues and pay bills.

Just thought I'd let anyone that wanted to fly into and out of Greenville/Spartanburg or Charleston South Carolina know that Southwest will be open for business starting March 13th. They will have $30 one-way tickets for the first couple of weeks. Now I don't have to pay a fortune to go home! I LOVE SOUTHWEST!!! Janice

Is anyone taking the Disney Transfers from the port to Paradise Pier Hotel or to another hotel at Disneyland?

Yes, Ryan and I are staying at Paradise Pier for 3 days.

PINS - I have books of them and dh had so much fun trading and buying special ones he liked. Right now I would give away almost any of them. Our two youngest grandsons had so much fun buying and trading when we took them to WDW. They have their own Pin Boards, but their mom has tried to get rid of them on numerous occasions, but thank goodness the object too loudly! She is a real peach

If anyone is looking for any special older pins that I might have, I will be happy to bring them to you. Just let me know. I have a lot of DVC pins.

Sorry your HOA meeting was so crazy. That is why my dd is moving to be where there is a HOA. If you would see how disrespectful her current neighbors are of their property you would welcome the HOA. I am just so happy for them and the new house - 4 bedrooms - like they need a huge house - because they are ready for me to move in. Jasmine & I have decided we can wait awhile for that, but we like where they will be

We are doing DCL transfers from port to GC ($30pp - under 3 FREE). Then DVC transfers from GC to LAX on Sunday - I haven't booked that yet because I have to book our flight first.

Has anyone stayed at Terranea resort before? I'm still conflicted with staying at the airport Hilton on Friday night in LAX and just plan on doing nothing, staying at Disneyland and doing a half day at the park and staying at a nice resort and chilling at the resort.

Good morning all. Just when we thought fall was here last week, we're hitting close to 90 again with high humidity. The joys of the Gulf Coast!

DD trades pins. We usually buy some on ebay before our WDW vacations to trade but then she always buys a few while there to add to her collection. I collect pins, but don't trade. I usually buy 2-3 on each trip.

Harole Ann, DD is trying to complete a collection of the pirate "cuties" and is looking for Mickey, Minnie, or Donald. On our last trip, I saw a CM that had 2 of them that she needed but by the time DD was off the ride (she had the pins with her), the CM was on break. Other CMs said that she wouldn't be coming back that day as she would be at another station. So, if do have any of them, DD would be forever grateful

I have always had good luck sending things or having things sent to my Disney hotel. When giving shipping directions, have them mark the packages with your name (guest) address of the hotel and note HOLD FOR CHECK IN (date) RESERVATION #.

A friend of mine shipped her FE gifts and toiletries to Coronado Springs via UPS. The toiletries got there, the FE gifts did not. But hers is the only negative experience I have heard. I will most likely be shipping a box to my resort this time. [/QUOTE=LindaBabe;38660638]

hello!!!

my hubby is a pin collector but very unfocussed on his collection sometimes so I'm dreading the special pins that will be available to purchase on the cruise and his excitement once he gets to DLR - he'll probably bring a few traders to trade with the cast members and he likes to give away pins to kids too...just hoping our 4 year old doesn't catch the pin trading bug!!!

we're staying at Wilderness Lodge DVC Jan 1-6th and will be staying at Grand Californian DVC for a few days post-cruise - maybe we will see some of you in the parks - will be looking into the disney transfers to see if they'll work for us...

i don't get much time to check into these boards but just want to say "hi" and we're all getting excited about how close this trip is...

i'm trying to keep up with the posts as a lurker and will pop in once in awhile...this sounds like such a fun group we can't wait to meet you in person!!! take care and happy thursday!!!

I collect Chip 'n Dale pins. I havent traded before, but I did get some limited editions from DSF that I plan to bring to trade. I read a good tip, "Take pics of your pins with you so that you dont buy doubles". Not going to take individual pics but one group shot should do it for me.

Good Morning! Yes I just love the Humidity(not)!!! We've lived in Texas for 3 years and the 1st 40+ years in South Carolina so we do know humidity. But between S. C. and Tx we lived in Wyoming(no humidity) so it kind of spoiled us! Our favorite saying in the summer is "I wish we were back in Wyoming" but we don't say that in the winter!!!!

Harold Ann, my niece(that's going on the cruise) likes to collect disney valentine pins because that is her birthday. If you have any we could buy them from you! Thanks, Janice

In my experience, that "handling charge" is at resorts that have convention centers. I was not charged at AKL or OKW this year.

Found a cute Mickey from The Disney Club that says Pirates of the Caribbean. She is welcome to it. It is with the "things to pack" & I will keep looking for others.

We now have excursions on Aruba, PV, Cabo, and Costa Rica that oughta do it.

Ok so if cousins can book excursions on the 23rd - its still 9 pm here in California correct?? I wonder how tough its going to be to get them parasailing with us...
