Hi everyone! Just checking in!

Things have been so busy here and are somewhat slowing down now.

My birthday was last Sat and my husbands was this past Friday. This past Saturday we had my husband's promotion party. His other promotions he has been overseas so it was great to celebrate with him! I am excited for the cruise and getting new pictures in his uniform reflecting his new rank!!! :cool1:

I am not sure if I have missed any questions about BUNCO or graphics or anything. If there is anything that I missed please let me know. I have gone back and looked through the pages but I know I have not done a very good job.

I hope all is well with everyone!

Congratulations on DH's promotion! Please do post the photo!

Just had to share with someone - My DH just surprised me this morning by allowing us to put a deposit on a cruise on the Fantasy. :cool1: I figured that would never happen. :confused3

What a lovely surprise! I keep wishing we were closer so we can book more cruises/go to WDW more frequently

Re: Being late to ship...when we were on the Medi cruise a group decided to go to Rome on their own and missed the final train back (the port was an hour train ride away). They ended up having police (or the equivalent thereof) bring them back to the ship. They did not arrive until AFTER midnight (over 2 hours past departure time) and the Magic DID wait. Our servers commented that they will only leave people if it affects their arrival time to the next port. I would say that since Costa Rica and Manzanillo are relatively close AND there is a day at sea inbetween, there should be no problem. Whether or not I personally choose to do this will NOT be for this reason as I would think a smaller group will have far more success at getting back than even the Disney excursions...not to mention the fact that you will have several staterooms represented. I doubt they will leave multiple reservations behind). Of course this is only my opinion...but, it is based on evidence =0). I should also say that we too chose to do Rome on our own and we made it back in time, so it really is about being mindful of you time.

Hi Guys, just checking in and the first post I read is this one. In speaking with staterooms hosts, I've been told that the ship has done both. Stayed behind and even sailed off. In one case, the stateroom hosts never saw the family back on the ship again. Here's something that I can only stress you all triple check everything.

In Rome, we decided to do it on our own. The paper with the train shedules that the dock gives you lists the times of the Rome train departure. However, in our particular case, it listed the "LAST TRAIN" to Civettivecchia (or however you spell it) was 4:45 or someplace close to it. We somehow read it as 5:45. When we noticed the mistake were were at the Colisseum which I had missed on all my prior trips. My son insisted that the paper couldn't be right and that we should just enter and then go see about alternate rides back to the port. But he, (he's never been out of the country other than Mexico before) insisted it was wrong. So, after a few minutes of panic mode, sensibility snuck in. We went in, enjoyed the marvel and I got to take my pictures and then we hightailed it the Rome station by 5:35 and managed to board a train back to the ship. It took us about 1 hr but for some reason, the port paperwork listed the last train as 4:55. None of us caught it but we sure were happy that the trains ran longer than expected. That was my little lesson learned. I'll check the train boards whenever I get off. BTW, the trains ran way longer the paperwork stated. We could have even taken a later train. But that's ok, I learned my lesson. We made it back to the ship with 1 hr and 45 min to spare. Plenty of time. Our travelling mates even made it back in time for a late early dinner.

Congratulations,thats amazing.

Is it only tas that can book?
Can someone on here looks for a price for me for the 8th jan 4 nights on the dream, cat 11 or something?
I will wait til onboard to book, whats the deposit anyboady know?
I am locuming 3 nights next week, hope that covers it.

Thanks!!!!

Gold & platinum CC could book today and silver and first timers can book tomorrow.

The deposit is 20% of the total cruise price. We changed our ressie and booked a 5A on Deck 10 and it was a little less than $4500 for 2 adults including insurance.

I think I read somewhere that the deposit is still 20% even onboard for the maiden.

One idea I had for a meeting place prior to the cruise is the Disney Family Museum in the Presidio in San Francisco. http://disney.go.com/disneyatoz/familymuseum/index.html I spoke with Cathy in group sales and she indicated that if we have 10 or more people the following would be the entrance fee: $18; adults, $13; seniors, $10; children 6-17, and free; children under 6
While they would not offer us a meeting room, she felt we would be able to find room in the Café or on the porch in the front of the museum. They could provide box lunches and will be sending me a menu for our review. She also mentioned that there are a number of restaurants in the area we might like.
In honor of Mickey Mouse’s November birthday, that month they will be hosting a number of Mickey themed activities and exhibits.

I had also thought of the Disney Family Museum. We have a membership and it's a great place to visit. We could always "tailgate" in the parking lot if people want to come, but not go into the museum.

I also saw on the main forum that All Seas Travel has some general pricing on their website.

Since there is a meeting at Disneyland this coming Sunday for SoCal cruisers, Val and I were wondering if we could come up with a time and place for the NorCal cruisers to meet.

Anyone interested? Any date - Saturday or Sunday preference? Location? It would be fun to meet ahead of time.:grouphug:

Count us in!

Regardless of where we meet, do we have a date, maybe in November before the holidays, to meet? The two weekends in November would be 6-7, 13-14. Should I send out a message to the N. California folks and see what they think and which weekend would be preferred? Also, float the Disney Museum and solicit other ideas? What you think?

Val

Harole Ann what breed is Jasmine, she looks like a bichon? If you brought her on the cruise I know that she would have a room at our place as my wife pines for our dog the entire time we are gone.

Jasmine is a toy poodle, but when she is in need of a hair cut she does look like a bichon.

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

It's a chilly 32 degrees in upstate NY this am.

DH has Finally started to get rid of his cold, but now, he's apparently given it to me:headache:

Oh, Please DO pass on that one! Cruising is one of the few "safe" zones for those of us with allergies.
Oh, don't worry, Jasmine is not cruising. That would be too much for her; however poodles are allergy resistant breeds. My friend Lynnise told me of dogs being on a cruise with she and her mother and how good they were in the dining room. Jasmine could sit on a chair at the table and no one would be aware she was even there. She is well behaved.

I hope you get over your cold very soon. Nothing makes you more tired than having a cold or sinus infection.

I have been to the Disney Museum and it is neat (got D23 tickets to the preview days for DD and I :thumbsup2), but not really a kid oriented place (for those of us with kids!). Having said that, I can't really come up with anything better.

Whilst I would like to meet up before hand, we may have to give it a miss if there will be no other kids there. But I will see where, when and who before making the final decision.

For what it is worth, Sundays work better for our family.

Okay, I just can't wait any longer to get involved. . . We will be booking this cruise tomorrow, had to wait until DH had vacation approved. I have been reading the forum but not commenting until I knew for sure. For those of you that were on the WBTA, I was there minus DH. I got in too late to do some of the activities so have been pushing DH to find out about vac so we could participate.

We live in Alameda and would love to do a NorCal meet up. The Disney Museum sounds wonderful. I vote for Nov 13-14 as my DH is out of town the 6-7, however if that date works better for most, I'll be there without him.

Ooops...just looked at my calendar, I'm out of town the 6-7 also. So sorry.

The weekend of the 13-14 works for us.

Welcome!

I just got an email from my TA that she booked two Cat 5B's for us for the MV. The whole non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit makes me a little nervous. I don't like the idea that we can't move it to something else if we wanted to.

Congratulations. We wanted to do the MV, but we are taking DD with us and she cannot miss school

I so envy you the opporunity for this get together. I wish there were enough of us either around here or my dd for a mini meet. It is nice to know some faces ahead of time. I do know a few people from previous cruises, but can't wait to meet everyone.:woohoo:

Once you decide on a date and firm plan, will you write one of your nicely detailed summaries and I'll put it up on the first page?

:welcome: Judy - and DH too. So nice to have you joining our group. Glad your DH's vacation time worked out.

DS is coming home tomorrow for Fall Break - has a dentist appointment Thursday morning, lucky kid. DS#1, DDIL#1 and DS#3 will be here for dinner on Thursday. That isn't all of them but I will take what I can get.

Enjoy your evening. Hope you got your Fantasy bookings as you wanted.
