My husband and I have just booked this cruise.:cool1: Is it too late to join the FE list. We are very excited to meeting everyone. We currently have a gty room.
Welcome! We are Val & Bob from San Francisco. This is our 6th Disney Cruise and 13th cruise overall.
I would recommend you look at the first posting for some of the activities we all are planning. LindaBabe is doing a great job of keeping this uptodate. Also link over to the website the Tiegfanjeff and JenKatt have created to keep us informed.
This is a very welcoming group so tell us a little about yourselves. We are going to have such a good time.
Val

Did anyone notice some categories are now sold out. I don't see any category 4 or 7 and some of the others are very limited.

I looked just earlier today and they were showing 7+ in cat 7 and 7+ in Cat 4A :confused3 But yes, I did see a few cats sold out, including all other cat 4s and many cats in GTY only.

I sure will be glad when they assign our cabins. I know not to expect it for at least 3 weeks or so but I'm still checking daily :goodvibes

And welcome to the newcomers!

Mixology and Hawaiian Shirt Contest
Sounds like there is some interest in a mixology tasting, but open to everyone, not just the guys.

Join in a private DCL mixology tasting. Learn all about how those colorful drinks of the day are made and just who gets to name them. For some additional fun, we’ll have a Hawaiian Shirt Contest, seems to go with all those little paper umbrellas and tropical fruit

images

PM me if you would like to be included in the count. Will be letting DCL know how many they could plan for this Friday.

What would the cost be?

Good Afternoon everyone :)

I have a day off work (paid) today ! With thanks to the Melbourne Cup (think Kentucky Derby for Australians), our company allows those who are on wages to have a Picnic Day (I've been on salary for the past two picnic days). So, what am I doing ? Sitting at home nursing the start of a cold :( Trying to catch up on other bits and bobs, too.

Don't know what's happened to our Summer... it's been unseasonably cold this year - I woke up to 52F, which meant dragging all the kids jumpers and blazers back out for school.

A couple of quick replies...

Disneynut - welcome ! This is a fabulous group of people - I can't wait until our cruise (we're doing two weeks of Disney beforehand, too).

Val - sign us up for the Hawaiian t-shirt comp. ! Poor DH, I don't quite think he knows *what* he's letting himself in for giving me complete control of all the planning :rotfl2:

Lynne - thanks for the feedback on who to contact for the dining seating. I'll contact my DU agent.

As an aside - has anyone else booked this cruise with DU ? If so, would you mind PMing me with the name of your agent, if you're happy with them ? Thanks :)

Jen - many congratulations on finishing your paper ! Every time I think it'd be good to go back and do something post-grad, I seem to remember just how much work is involved with uni ! Jack looks gorgeous in his pirate costume !

Pirate Night - I'm sorry, I've forgotten who asked about it, but we I plan on getting dressed, do a degree. I have already had custome shirts printed for the whole family, and we'll take patches and head gear. That will probably do, although I'm not sure Dh and DD1 will be quite so "into it" :confused3

Limo / Bus to port - has anyone used another company aside from Happy Limo to go from WDW to port ? Could you let me know the name, and if you were happy with them ? Also, what time did they do pick-up for you ? TIA !

That's it for now - I've waffled on long enough :hippie:

More ironing, more cleaning...... picnic day ! What picnic day ? LOL !

Cheers,
Sally :)

Greetings everyone!
This has been a busy day and I have GOT to get busy working out, so I'll try to make this short...

Howdy and welcome:welcome:!!! It seems like everyone has answered most of your questions, but regarding the FE, no it is not too late...there has been a lot of talk about when, and if, to create a deadline, so as of now, many of us are planning on getting gifts till the last minute, while some are planning buying for everyone registered by Nov. 6. So, PM Jeff by the 6th and you should be golden:goodvibes
Hi. Just a lurker checkin' in. Has anybody posted which nights will be formal/casual/themed yet? You know, that schedule?? Wondering if it will be the same as the WBTA with the addition of the extra night...

Jackie
Hiya Jackie, bout time you checked in!! Everyone, this is Jackie...she is one of the 8 traveling in our little group:grouphug:. Her son is my bro-in-law (he and my sis are also traveling with us). I'm not sure if I can pull this off the top of my head, so anyone who reads this, please correct my errors...
Let the Magic Begin (aka Celebrate Mom's Bday:thumbsup2) Day 1
Pirate Night Day 11
Golden Mickey Day 2
Prince and Princess Day 14
East meets West Day 7
Till we meet again Day 15
That's all I can remember...

To the other things discussed...
Kay and I are dressing up for Pirate night (nothing major, but different from the normal attire)

9k?!!! I will be lucky if I can do 5! I hope someone knows the route this time...There is a blog about it that describes the route. Should I bring it???

Gotta go! Have a great day/evening!

~Melissa

What would the cost be?

The DCL Special Functions Dept would not commit to a firm cost, just like they won't confirm they will even do the tastings until we given them a count estimate of how many people would attend. Then they have to talk with the people involved on-board and look at what else is on the schedule. She did say she thought it would somewhere around $15 or $20 dollars each. Of course the hawiian shirt contest is something we would do and there is no cost for that part of it.

If anyone is going on any of the cruises between now and our big cruise, go to Til We Meet Again on the last night and meet Anne Marie and Peter Pan there. Pay special attention to my best friend Anne Marie and tell her hi from Maryland!! and love from us!
thanks!

On Sunday, a few of us discussed what night were formal, femi-formal etc...I said I would repost the days...here we go:

Night 3 - Formal
Night 10 - Semi-formal
Night 11 - Pirate
Night 14 - Formal

DCL has not advised of any other theme nights as of now- if I hear anything- will let you know!

I found this post from a few days ago. Hope it helps.

Welcome Aboard!

It was really cool to go into Epcot via Italy with Jack (he is a VP at Disney) and get to see all the behind the scene's stuff. I even got a tour of the Imagineering offices - which was awesome! There was a picture of the Disney Dream hanging on the wall that took up an entire hallway!

We really had a blast and I can't wait to go back next year for Halloween!

Sounds like an awesome trip!

We're planning on taking our 2 nieces next Halloween to WDW followed by a four night cruise on the Dream. I love Halloween at WDW.

Welcome Jackie! Looks like the formal and semi-formal days have been posted.

Sounds fun Val.

Maybe they are starting to fill up!

I was wondering if they are closing out the sales on some categories to get ready to do the GTY assignments.

I'm watching the Giants/Ranger game in between swatting flies. While I was out shopping yesterday my DGS left our front door wide open for several hours. There are cows in the pasture next to us so you can just guess how many flies I came home to. I sprayed last night when I left for the Halloween party, but I'm still finding a few tonight. UGH!!!

The Halloween chain Spirits has all their costumes and other Halloween items on sale for 50% off. I got a new pink boa for our Champagne Girls Gala. Also got a great pirates hat. Some Disney costumes where available. Val

Missy... I just changed our Palo's res to the night we're in Cabo. It's your mom's bd night 1? We should celebrate B-I-G!!

Looks like the Giants are going to close it out tonight. Congrats to the Giants and their fans :goodvibes

ETA: I'm still a proud Rangers fan. They did a great job this year and look forward to next year!!! Love my Rangers :)

well we have fireworks and car horns going off here. I guess the Giants won!
:cool1::cool1:

Yay Giants!!!:woohoo:

Carmen the Rangers played well too.

Thank you. I guess I was editing my post at the time. We are very proud of what they accomplished this year. They had never even won a playoff series before this year.

I never really paid much attention to the NL so I didn't know just how good the Giants pitching staff is. WOW! They shut the Rangers out twice, held them to one run once, and two runs once. In the regular season, the Rangers had the highest AVG in the AL and they scored the 4th most runs. Yes, great pitching beats great hitting most of the time :)
