Good morning everyone!
In just three short weeks Carly and I will be heading to WDW to begin our fantastic three week vacation! I'm going to work on clothes today. I don't ever plan and pack this far in advance, but I need to get things lined up so I can quit thinking about it.

Sally, I love the picture. I couldn't get on a plane that small if my life depended on it. I'm glad you had fun! Good luck with the visas!

We have had a snowy 24 hours here in Minnesota with snow totals of 15 - 20 inches in the area. Being stranded at home today gave me time to start going through my closet and to figure out what I have to wear on the cruise. It also gave me an opportunity to catch up on my DIS reading. So, all was not lost. I exepct to stay put tomorrow as well, so maybe I can get some of the cosmetics, paperwork and miscellaneous items set aside for packing.

The zipper on my biggest suitcase is ripping, so I need to get out and find a new suitcase. Figured maybe Santa would bring me one for Christmas. I keep wondering how I am going to get everthing packed in a couple bags. We are going to WDW for a few days pre-cruise, then the cruise and then a couple days at DL afterwards. I think there is no way around doing laundry this trip. But I hear it's tough to find the laundryroom idle on the ship. Anyone have experience doing laundry while cruising?

I don't know how I am ever going to be ready, but I am SO looking forward to getting away from cold and snow! Winter started early this year and I am getting close to my fill already and winter hasn't even officially started. We have already received 2/3 of our normal snowfall and we have 4 or 5 months left. We have been in a drought situation the last few years, so the high snowfall amounts should help alleviate the drought problems. And hopefully, spring flooding will not be big an issue.

So, much for going on and on about the weather!!! Looking forward to the cruise and all the activities! Conk Cooler, please! :beach::drinking::drinking1

It's not even snowing here yet, and I agree with you about the weather - am done being freezing! We got less than an inch on Friday and while going about 5 miles to a luncheon i saw 3 major accidents and one car go off the road! guess the wet underneath was icy, but i had no problems!! I could NOT live where you get that much snowfall in a year, so i feel badly for you that you have had so much snow and have so long to go!!

btw, I got a great suitcase at Marshalls! So good that someone took it on my last trip to disney! it was just a mixup and we fixed it before leaving the airport (thank goodness i had my name and cell number on my luggage tag!!). I have also seen some travel things on msnbc.com that recommended the brand.

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

DEluge here - I wish it was snow, it would be prettier.

No place to buy pesos here in upstate NY, so I guess I just won't have them.

My secret to doing laundry? Do it before you need to - do it before you get on the ship so you start out all clean clothes. Pay attention to your time - take your clothes out promptly - other people are waiting for the limited number of machines and they *will* take your stuff out if it's done and you're not there.

Deluge here and thank goodness it's not snow!!

we've had this laundry room discussion before!! I'm curious if on a longer cruise people spread laundry time out more so maybe it'll be a bit less of an issue? i plan on DD helping and on using it really really late at night. like midnight or so, cause not fair to DD to do it all!! :-) Anyone had a two week cruise experience of laundry, I forget? I know on the one week and shorter people said it was hard to get the machines.

no pesos here - i'm ok with a lesser buy, i am not a shopper!!

Lets see, I think today we can pretend we're...at sea i think! feel the warm sun and the breeze from the ship moving, while we enjoy the pool and other events, oh today should be the wine meet and greet, right??

:goodvibes

Thanks for the toontown reminder - i've not been there in years, so maybe we'll stop by this time!

Sally, I've been in a 4 seater before - i am amazed you loved it, but glad for you - too small a plane for me!!

I guess i'll start thinking about packing tomorrow. tday is to finish our on liine christmas shopping!! i never pack this early either, but i think i'm going to mail some stuff down ahead of time, and have some wine shipped to the hotel, so i will need to do so, to make sure it gets there amongst the holiday packages!!!

good weekend all!:grouphug:

Sorry - no such luck on the longer cruise. We were on the WBTA 14 day and I got up at 3:45 a.m. and still had to wait for a machine. val

question for all those who have DCL transport and early diner, and leaving from Disney. Are you having breakfast at resort and then eating lunch on the ship and then diner 4 hours later. I am considering eating at Boma and then something lite or maybe just the Mara. I have never done DCL transport I understand you do not arrive until about 130p.

Well, DH just finished blowing the foot of snow we got out of the driveway and it is still coming down and will continue until tomorrow if one can believe the weatherman. It was an interesting drive home after our Christmas party last night but 4-wheel drive and a slow, steady speed got us here without any problems. And, boy did I make out at the party - $200.00 worth of Disney gift cards! We shall see what I can do with that!

Laundry - I know that I will at least have to do a load of unmentionables if not more stuff. Maybe I will try PC day, so long as I can run up and down without missing anything.

Just sealed the last of the Christmas cards and now to work on some of the packing. I did some major organizing yesterday and felt so good that I found my FE - was worried there for a minute.

Take care and stay safe everyone!

Back from a weekend at WDW. Well deserved rest and an early birthday dinner at Blue Zoo....

Hello all! Just ducking in to assure everyone we're still alive and looking forward to the cruise, just so busy at work that it's hard to find time to think about it, which I'm sure will make it all the better when it arrives. :cool1: Gosh, I didn't think about visas too, NZ passports are visa free with so many countries it didn't occur to me. I guess more boat time for us if visas are needed!

Carys, is there anyway whomever is in NZ can pick up a Scotty Skytower Plush?

I remember seeing a website where people had made comments about individual rooms on the Disney ships. Can not remember if it was oon these boards or somewhere else. Has anyone seen this in the past and could tell me where it was at?

What I do is have a very small breakfast like a bagel or two. Then when I get to the ship a small lunch at PC or in this case, BBB. Then big first dinner. Also everyone when it comes to the weather it can be down right cold in the central FL area I was looking and I think I saw sometime this week it was going to dip below freezing, and I have spoke about from about Cabo up to L.A. I would recommend some warm clothes. You all know were I stand on laundry, no way I am doing any laundry till I get home on 1/21.

It is on this board. At the top of this page on the thinner light blue bar you will see 'staterooms'. click on there and you will see among the options, stateroom reports. Just find your number.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!:thumbsup2

It's been a long week for us. We were at WDW last week at this time. On our way home one of our dogs took ill back home and didn't pull through. Our house sitter and vet did everything they could, but it wasn't meant to be. :sad1: If it wasn't so sudden, we'd have been more prepared. Our 2 remaining are doing OK, don't think they mourn quite like we do I guess. :confused3

We are having snow flurries in Atlanta, which for most people here means the end of the world. :rotfl::confused3 It just puts us in the mood to go on a cruise!!! ;)

While looking at the website today I noticed that when Tim gets us added we'll connect a block of 5 Dis rooms in a row on Deck 2. Hopefully he'll get us added soon with a little Fishie on our line so we can join in the FE fun.

Still trying to catch up on some of the threads...I'll pop back in again later in the week.

Stay warm for those of you up North! I Remember what that was like...not for me though.

So busy here, as I know everyone else is as well! I got all of the kids dinner clothes sorted out now it's time to work on mine and DH's. Postcards came in the mail yesterday but still waiting on docs. Starting to doubt I'll get them since there have been a lot of mess ups.

Tenya, sorry to hear about your loss. And about the bracelets - since I requested to pick them up on the ship, what would be the best way for me to get them? Buzz your room or you drop them in my FE? We're just down the hall so whatever works best for you:goodvibes

Poor Cameron woke up this morning with 102 temp. Went down with Ibuprofen and then spiked again at 103. We got it back down and he doesn't act like he feels that bad, just a little tired. But he and I stayed home from DH's work Holiday Party. DH and DD went and since DS is chilling on the couch watching TV, I'm going to try to get some things done around here.

Robert and I go to second hand stores and what they all "vintage" stores. He collects Hawiian shirts. Yesterday he found a like new, blue batik, Liberty House shirt from the 50's or 60's, made in Hawaii with King Kamahama stamped buttons. It was $2.00 - woo who

The Hawaiian shirt sounds like quite a find! 2 years ago on our western, Roy Disney was aboard and in Cozumel he was wearing a VERY cool vintage Mickey Mouse Hawaiian shirt. It was fantastic.

So its been a weird week, terrible news my dear neices bf dads died, massive heart attack, only 32, its so so sad, I dont know but feel bad for the kid, I spoke to her last night, shes ok, but at 14 makes me feel greedy for all the stuff I still want to do with my dad!
Finaly got to the gym, then I had to dog the drive out, its a big drive, now I cant stand up, ..who cares, nothing compared to what poor M's going through.
Then the electric went of all day, thats just getting boring now.
I till have not done last nights dishes, I need such a hard foot up the butt, I cant decide whether to do them or open a bottle of wine, ho hum.
Poor Len has the cold , I had a teeible cold but shhok it in a week, 3 weeks and he still has it, Im worried about him, going to make sure he goes to the drs on monday, I cant help but mother him even though he is wa older than me,
anyway shaunie and friend should be here soon and we will finnaly go to see HP, go for food first, should be cheap they alway want macdonalds(yuk)
Orly is in the bad books, He stole the dinner last night and today he got his advent calender and ate all the days out it, hes so naughty...:rolleyes1

Sad news, but you make me laugh anyway!

We told our kids the other day that DH wasn't coming on the trip. That DCL had decided that he couldn't come. They didn't believe us, so we showed them our cruise docs that only had the info and tags for the kids and myself.

Oh, we had them going... :rotfl::rotfl:

(DH details have probably been sent to our vacation home in FL as I put that down as his address).

DD asked me to phone DCL and get him put back on the trip. Bless her :cutie:

-Kay

Oh that sounds like something I would do :rotfl:

I guess you know by my slow time to post, we lost our long anticipated state championship football game. Everyone said the officiating was terrible. I hate to hear that. It is a shame it had to end like that after all the kids went thru, but there is nothig you can do, but get ready for hext year and we will!:cheer2: If nothing else, we don't quit!

I have been busy at church today, watched Santa Buddies and back to church for support group. Now believe it or not I am actually exhausted,

My grandson & I are going to see Unstoppable tomorrow. It was made near my home so I am interested in seeing it.

Have a good night & we are really winding down at jet speed!:rockband::car::dancer::charac2:

Bob has a few mickey hawaiian shirts but I bet nothing as cool as what Roy had.

Today was DS's 6th birthday. He chose to have a bowling party and requested that his friends dress in their favorite costumes. We had Superman, Supergirl, Bumble Bee (transformer), Spiderman, and a few princesses show along with lots of friends that forgot or chose not to dress up. It was a fun, chaotic party. But oh so easy. The only things we had to bring were the birthday cake (Transformers because the store we got it at didn't have any Superman) and party favors (wall calendars.)

And now the house is silent because the kids are in bed dreaming about the fun day and all the presents that were opened. I just have to make a couple lunches for tomorrow and then I can head off to lala land.

Tomorrow I must start gathering stuff to pack. I can't believe how quickly these last few weeks are flying.

:bday: Happy Birthday to your son!!party:party:party:

If anyone needs a Guayamisa shirt for Mexican night, I picked up a brand new one at a thrift store yesterday. It is a size Med., beige and has never been worn. I paid $2.50 for it. My DH wears a lg. so a little small for him. I will be glad to bring it or mail it. Just PM me.

What a busy busy busy weekend! Glad it's done..we had a garage sale Fri-Sun...Friday night I had my Mom/Daughter Girl Scout event that my troop put on. 180 people! It went well but I am glad it's over.

Went to a wonderful Holiday party last night and today (after the garage sale) was Christmas Cookie day! Just finishing up and am exhausted!

Tomorrow night is DH Holiday party at Disneyland! :cool1: Looking forward to it.

As soon as I finish these cookies..I am finding my pj's!

Have a wonderful week!
