Thanks. It was really cool being escorted on the ship. Also Pelacan Plunge is really cool.

Did you find it odd that you were not announced the second time?? Odd may not even be the right word, maybe missing??? I have only been though those doors once and not announced and can't wait to do it again.

Wasn't it nice of Alan to do a pre-trip inspection cruise?:lmao:

...and he told us it was for his anniversary! :lmao::lmao:

Two ideas have been suggested for the Champagne Girls Gala; 1) An organized private champagne tasting (DCL instruction with tasting cost posted to your room charge), complete with pink boas and tiaras, or 2) BYOB (champagne, alcoholic or non, or beverage of your choice) girls only session, complete with pink boas and tiaras. The votes received indicate the preference is for an organized private tasting but if that is not possible we should go ahead with our own party. I have sent the following e-mail to DCL Function Request. Todate, have not heard back from them. Will keep you posted. Val

RE: Private Champagne Tasting on the 1-6-11 – 1-21-11 Panama Canal cruise on the Wonder

Whatever it is, sign me up!!!
Good Morning:

Members of the DISboards are writing to request a private champagne tasting while on the January 2011 Panama Canal Cruise. The informal polling of this group shows consensus that the best experiences are those managed by Disney Cast in one of the many public rooms or clubs.

We are members of the DISboards, a web site designed to give Disney fans a place to share their experiences with each other, and to assist each other in planning Disney vacations. The DCL thread is a venue which allows DCL cruisers to identify fellow Dis-board members on their specific sailing. We plan our trip, share information and organize special events on the cruise. We are faithful DCL cruisers and a large number of us are gold and platinum.

We can be identified by the decorated cabin doors, many with fish extenders for the gifts we leave for each other. We often sport special lanyards, tee-shirts and other identifying items. On the recent WBTA sailing, Heath Hyche, the headlining comic, mentioned the number of DISboard members onboard during his Walt Disney Theater act. Currently there are 292 members planning this PC cruise.

One event members of the board especially look forward to is the Champagne Girls get-together. Ladies wear pink boas and tiaras and enjoy conversation and beverages, especially champagne. The meeting is held on a sea day in the afternoon. Some sessions have been privately hosted in a member's suite with concierge-provided glasses. On some cruises DCL provided an organized champagne tasting; on one cruise this was provided by the Sommelier from Palo. On the TA crossing, Sean led a public wine-tasting in Lumiere's. We have had our own photographer, while other times a photographer from Shutters was in attendance.

We look forward to another wonderful DCL Champagne and sparkling wine experience with your help. Please let us know how you can assist us in planning an organized champagne tasting and what you would need from us.

I did this last time and it worked out OK. My box wasn't in my room by 6pm, so I had to call guest services and they went to hunt for it. It finally turned up :worship:, but I was paranoid that it had been left behind at PC :scared1:.

Just a heads up.
That is what scares me the most about sending a box to the ship:scared1:

We got home very late from the football game Friday night. Not a good game for us, but like I told my grandson, it was one game, not a season, that is why we play 10!

When I climbed in bed my clock said 1:23. I tossed and turned and it finally said 5:00am and I was still awake. I had been to the doctor Friday morning still continuing with a sore throat so he gave me another prescription for antibotics and sent me for sinus x-rays and chest x-rays.

The weather was bitter cold at the game, but I was layered in clothing.

I was in bed all day yesterday and finally climbed out about noon today. We have had a beautiful fall weekend.

I need to get over whatever this is because I have way too much to do! Besides if you are away from the computer for over 24 hours you have over an hour of reading to "ketchup"!:lmao:

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Feel better Harole Ann. Sometimes a weekend in bed is just what the doctor ordered. And I am sure that Jasmine liked knowing exactly where you were.

Sunny here but only 55 out.

I did not find it odd at all. I thought it was even cooler because we were escorted from the terminal back onto the gangway. Then the doors to the ship were closed and we were identifed as Back to Back cruisers. The security officer then slid the doors back open for us. So that was really cool.

One day closer to sailing - but first we have to get through Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Those interruptions are NOT what I want to think about . . .

And New Year's Eve. I'm tired just thinking about all the holiday parties.

Anyway, I love the idea of a "cabin viewing". Not sure if you'd all want to see one of our two - we're staying in two Navigator's Cabins on deck 5. Let me know.

Yeah, I can't wait to see a navigator's. We were originally booked into one, but changed to the secret verandah cat. 7A when our cousins cancelled.

Quick - quick just was able to book brunch on Tues., day 6 which is Jan.11.:goodvibes

Congrats!

I hope you feel better soon! :flower3:

Well new puppy equaled very little sleep for me last night. Between potty breaks for the puppy and DH snoring it wasn't happening so I gave up at 5AM and just got up. :upsidedow

For those of you who have seen World of Color, where is the best place to be to see it. That's if you dont buy the special seating/picnic basket pkg?

They didn't do that for us at all - or that I remember. Guess I will have to do another one and see if my experience is the same as yours. There was a lot going on during that turn around - we went from no Christmas decorations to a decorated ship. Pretty amazing, I must say.

Well we were escorted by one of the people who check you in at the terminal. We were back on about 10:40.

Now that does not seem right, not to be announced even if it is a back to back cruise. Not everyone is returning cruisers.

I remember the first time that we got announced and we were pictured on the big screen. I forget what cruise that was, but I thought that was really neat!

Thanks for the well wishes, and yes, Jasmine really liked it because the electric blanket was on all the time and that has become one of her best friends! Right now she is enjoing the sunshine in her yard. She had better soak it up while she can until we head south.

I talked to my dd today and they are already beginning to live out of boxes! I hate to think about when it will be my turn, but I think there will be years ahead of me to ponder that move!:wizard:

I am now in vacation mode for this vacation. No work today! I am doing laundry and then to color my hair and then to back. I hope we can be at KV by noon! Oh so excited. Will be in Germany tomorow!

Sounds like a plan! Have a great time and enjoy.

We just went a couple of weeks ago and there was a good map on MiceChat.

A few things to note is that the closer you stand to the front the wetter you will get.

It is better to be in the front of the back tier than the back of the front tier so you can see over everyone in front of you.

You really want to get as close as you can to the black and white dotted line on the map to get the best view for your section.

We stood at the Red #2 spot on the map and everyone had a great time. We got our fastpass later in the day so red was the only thing available.

I am so excited about this! It has been 5 years since I have been at Disneyland and it will be Ryan's first visit. Dear friends will be joining us that dh and I cruised with so it will be a very exciting time for me.

Glad the tip about 6pm.com worked out. All of the stuff on the site is on sale. just some are a much much much better sale than others.

We always keep our meds in the original containers. Jeff is a diabetic and I have asthma. Can't do without either set of meds. We keep our meds in our carry on (no chance of it getting lost) with a letter from Jeff's doc about the needles in his bag. Taking meds out of your original container is never a good idea. You risk being searched and having stuff seized by TSA or whomever is inspecting your bag.

Oh, have a wonderful time in Germany! HAve some bread and coffee and pastries and schwenkbraten and nurnbergerwurstchen for me! I miss it all so!

They don't announce you on a B2B because basically there's no one there! Everyone is busy turning the ship and they really want you to go directly to your assigned waiting spot (usually cove cafe) and stay out of the way! We did that and then went up on totally empty deck 10 to wave at all the poor people waiting impatiently to board, lol. It was great to be on board and not have to schlep carry ons to lunch. The crew remember you the second week, which nets lots of attention, so not being announced really isn't missed.
