I want to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving. I am very blessed this year as my daughter had her surgery yesterday and they removed a golf ball size tissue and the report was no malignacy. What a blessing. My son, daughter-in-law,grandsons, and the oldest grandson's girlfriend are coming here for dinner.

Awsome news! Enjoy your family time at dinner tonight!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I could use some pixie dust here for me. Spent yesterday morning at the Dr. office. THey are doing some tests - I have had stomach pains for 2 weeks and they are trying to figure out what it is. Hopefully something simple and easily cured!

This Thanksgiving is an excercise in patience. My son and DIL are cooking. I offered to help in any way. Dinner has gone from 3 pm to 4 to 5. I am still thankful I'm not cooking, but who knows what's going on. At least we live next door. Just waiting for the phone call.

It's another gorgeous Sydney day today (we've been having superb weather this week), but I've still got a mountain of stuff to do ! YACK ! Already done "lollipop lady", but going back to the school in an hour for the building opening.

Oh, and I know this was topic du jour several posts ago, but...... dentists - I can't stand them. Comes from growing up with both a father AND a brother who were/are dentists

I'll check them out although I think we'll probably get a day room at Travelodge near LAX. Its only $56 and they'll let us stay until 8pm. We'll catch the bus to go to Santa Monica for the day. And yes! You've guessed where we live correctly. Are you close?

Belinda - yes, lollipop lady is one of many "hats" I don each Thursday and Friday morning. It's quite enjoyable, and the time passes quickly (also allows me to wave hello to DD1 as she goes past on her bus - how embarrassing ! LOL ). As for close - yes, reasonably - about 20km due east along MV Rd. Enjoy your day of leisure ! I've got none left between now and Christmas Eve

Jackie, this is beautiful. I feel thankful to have "met" such a nice, caring group of people online, can't wait to meet you all in person!

I worked 12 hr shifts Tues, Wed and will work tomorrow. My mom was so sweet and did all the shopping and most of the cooking for our family as I wasn't able to do much. We had a wonderful family day.

It is a bitterseet holiday for us. My mother passed away at my house on Thanksgiving Day a few years ago. Since then we had Thanksgiving at my daughter's house but she is now in the midst of a horrible divorce and is living in a very small house with her 3 children- which their dad has today. We decided to go out and eat. I thought we would have it at my house but my eldest daughter said it would bring back sad memories. She was very close to my mom- who was a Disney cruise participent on the Wonder with us.
