Beginning to feel like we live in a black hole. And yes, some could argue the point.

Booked flights out of Oakland. We live about 2.5 - 3 hours from there. There are 8 of us traveling. But apparently NO transportation options from Fresno. Rental car agencies either won't allow a one way to Oakland or want to charge us a premium for the one way rental. I can rent an SUV large enough for all of us for $325 for what is basically less than 24 hours. Or a compact car for $190. None of the limo companies are "licensed" for Oakland. So I guess we are adding a transport company to get us to Oakland and a hotel night at the airport so we can get to the SWA flight at 7:25 am.

Kinda frustrating. We decided to book out of a "local" airport to avoid the renting of cars and driving in the night before and staying in a hotel. Had we wanted to do that we would have just gone to LAX and been done with it.

Parking a car at Oakland is not an option as we are not coming back there.

Alan - what would SWA charge me to change my flights to a So Cal airport? Not sure that even makes it any easier.

OK venting over - just have to figure it all out.

Great to hear excursion plans. We need to figure that out.

I am almost certain that linked excursions in advance is only for concierge guests.

That wouldn't surprise me, but it all worked out okay anyway. We're waitlisted for a suite, but I doubt we'll get one at this point. It's happened before, but I don't think it will happen again.

Honestly there is no change fee. Just look to see how much you paid for your flight from Oakland. Then start looking at the 4 L.A. area airports. One of three things will happen, you will get a credit, it maybe an even exchange, or you just need to pay what ever the differance is. I hope this helped. If you need more just ask.

Just rebooked the cruise. I save around $800 and went from Deck 2 to deck 7 witha verandah. We could of saved some more but it would be deck 1 and I heard that is pretty noisy withthe engine and the crew, I know we had to go to medical for my husband and they are on Deck 1 and it was pretty busy. This might make up a little for what Disney overcharged me on the TA.

This means I do not have a room number yet. I will let you know as soon as we get it.

what type of discount did u get. They don't have any TA discounts right now ... sniffle sniffle!

It is a Florida Resident rate. I just checked for interline and still nothing, but like I said, if these FL rates are close I can go from a 11B to a 5C for $200 if the interline is the same rate and paid tips.

Really up in the air for Puntarenas.........anyone else planning to go to the volcano?

We are going on the volcano (all 3 of us) and are looking forward to it. our secret is that we're bringing the cribbage board and books =) Would love to have people to chat with on the bus though! (you know ...the ones from here )

Right .. the tips are not cheap! We sure hope interline opens up!

The Florida Resident rate is only available for category 9D & 5C, so it is very limited.

I have asked DU for a 5C - its gonna cost us a bit more (we are currently 11B) but I think for this long of a cruise I will be much happier with a verandah. Fingers crossed they are still available when DU gets back to me.

Hopefully DH won't be mad at me. I didn't want to upgrade to a window on the first floor to save money. That verandah was calling to me

The TA and the Med I was talking about was the one in April when they took the Magic over to Europe. After we paid in full for the two crusises and the cancellation period began they lowered the rates a whole lot and when we tried to rebook we had to pay over 2000 penalty and lose our 400 OBC. IT is is long story.

We reboked the PC with the Florida resident discount.

You really got everything in record time. CONGRATULATIONS!!

I was in the middle of booking when "something" happened and now I'm locked out for the next 20 minutes. I don't understand why they do that and don't just make you log out and log back in again. At least I got Palo Brunch reserved, and I think a couple of excursions too.

That was exactly what happened to me and it was so frustrating!

That booking experience was so nice compared to past times - site was responsive and everything we wanted was available.

It is, indeed, beginning to become "real".

We booked the Rain Forest Aerial Tram in Puntarenas. I'm thinking one of the Beach Resorts for Manzanillo. Anyone else planning to go to one of these, if so which one?

We are also doing the Aerial Tram in Puntarenas. I think we might do the valcanio in Manzanillo!
