I would be far happier not to have a submarine again. It held us up 2 hours I believe!

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

My party has two Zipping in Costa Rica, one doing the pirate adventure somewhere, one on the Aruba tour, at least one on some snorkeling tour, and one on the train & boat trip.

I'd just as lieve encounter no military vessels in the canal - just a nice peaceful transit on OUR schedule.

About the welcome party. I'm going to go ahead and make an executive decision that it is open to anyone affiliated with the DIS. So extended family and what not, i.e. anyone traveling with you. I haven't even contacted conceirge yet, I need a head count first and have only heard back from a handful of people. Jeff is trying to get a sign up list on the website so people can imput if they want to join and keep track of it that way. He's got an idea in his head on how to do, just needs the time.
Since we are opening this to more people, we'll need the drinks to cover them. Not sure how we'll do this yet. A bottle of something for every 2 or 3 people maybe. Can't be a bottle per person, that would be overkill!
Had some offers for help, I'll get back to those people in a PM, but thank you for the offer. I don't know yet what I may need help with. I have some ideas, but haven't thought them through yet.

Thanks Kathy! She is actually not a gymnast. Her sport is Judo and she will be in the middle of competition season which was not that big a deal when we booked but she is now in a position to qualify for some interesting stuff and will be missing some key events. She'll find a way to keep it up!

I am a runner also. There seems to be a few around here! She can run with me for starters. She like the old fashioned things like push up and chin ups...she'll find somewhere to knock some off!

Push ups, chine ups they were the days.

Well it's 1:34 on the east coast and 10:34 on the west. I've been absolutely astonished by how much discussion has been going on, it really is hard to keep up. And then when you go to answer a question, someone else has already jumped to it! I was wondering if by chance any of the other divers out there had tried looking into dive shops at the two ports that don't have DCL dives. I'm a slightly leary just because of timing (as has been discussed multiple times) But I need to also check my DAN coverage and check Hypo chambers in the area. I'm guessing that may be part of why there aren't any DCL dives in Manzanillo but i could easily be wrong.

I do have a question though for those of you who have paid to go to these all inclusive resorts for shore excursions, and I don't mean to sound critical at all. But is it worth it? My family's been thinking we might do one of these, but given i'm the drinker of the group i'm having a bit of difficulty as I figure at nearly two drinks an hour I'd break even and there's unlimited food on the ship (that I enjoy no less).

Not paying for corckage though, disney has been less than helpfull with ta cruise, offered us a room then said it would be 18 bucks per bottle for corckage, 47 bucks for a few plates of cheese n crackers and 70 bucks for a photographer, call me scottish but come on

Are you talking the first sea day? If so I maybe a no show. This day is a big contender for our Palo Brunch. I am also with Lynn. If they want to charge for that, forget it. We could all just hang somewhere and have a get together then.

The only bad thing about a military vessel is......they turn off webcam in the canal. So in hopes that someone was able to capture the webcam video of the Wonder in the canal, it would be blacked out.

Update on the zipline in PV. I've been speaking to Esmerelda at the Los Veranos and she was not in over the weekend. I talked to her yesterday and she was going to talk to her manager to answer a few questions I had. I should be hearing back from her today or tomorrow and then I will send another update. I had asked them if they would allow us to pay the amount with 25% off and how much time the would give us to reach the 25 minimum. I know some of you have not made final payment or made a final decision on excursion so I want to make sure they give us at least a few weeks to get the 25 person minimum so we don't have to worry about people getting refunded for the discount.

I'll send another update soon.

Once everything is finalized I will PM everyone that told em they were interested and post to this thread.

Oh yes, that was so very annoying. Mind you because we were much later going through the canal, our children at home had got fed up of looking for us anyway so turned off the webcam site!!

Sometime after the cruise someone who was onboard managed to find this on one of the webcam shots. Proof we were there!!! We re the two standing on the sunbeds. Naught I know. We were waving like mad in case our children were watching, but they had long given up!!! This was at a later lock when the submarine had gone and they must have turned the camera back on. also the decks were emptier.

I'm not 100% sure where we were standing. We were on Deck 10 port side. Not sure which pool is behind down below though, though I'm thinking Quiet cove.

We were on the 2008 Repo and took the 'coastal tour' at Cabo, which included the glass blowing factory

Very interesting to watch, and their store had some interesting pieces in it

All I can remember was the thick layer of dust on everything and the smell of the newspapers they used to wrap the purchases up

We'll be doing the town tour this time (same tour but without stops at the factory and the cactus farm)

Now that I know that a submarine in the canal will hold us up quite a bit and they turn off the web cams in the canal for security purposes (which makes sense now when I think about it), I agree now that I hope there is not a sub in the canal!! yes, it'd be cool to see, but not cool to be held up 2 hours, and not have us anywhere on the webcam!
