I honestly still don't understand, and probably never will, why buses don't have seat belts.

You'd be hard pressed to find a coach in Australia that doesn't have seatbelts anymore. Far too many fatalities in the past, which dictated the change.

Lol about the different forms of the English language - never mind the spelling differences !

I guess I'm day shift checking in - nearly 6 am, and plenty to do today.

Cheers,
Sally :)

Just popping in to welcome the new cruisers and to report no change on the doggies, they weren't at any of the shelters yesterday and my DH will check today after work.

It's been a crazy week, between searching for dogs, working, playoff tickets for the RiverCats (minor league baseball) and trying to leave in the morning for the Verizon's World of Color Party tomorrow night at DCA.

Alan - sorry no extra ticket, DD and DIL decided to go with us for the weekend.

I'm so sorry your dogs are still missing. :sad2:

Hoping they turn up soon...can imagine what you are going through

Here's what I can tell you about the Photo op. I was told to use common sence when it came to this, but my friend still will not confirm or deny anything. Think about it. We leave on the 6Th at 5:00 PM. The Magic leaves CC at 5:00 PM. The Dream should be out on a Media cruise that day. Now it would be to dark to do it on the 6Th by the time all three could meet up on the Day we are At CC the Nagic and Dream should be having sea days as of right now. The Magic is due back on the 8Th. Now we all know from past cruises that it take roughly 10-12 hours to get back to PC from CC. So the best time to get all three together while at sea is the morning if the 7Th. Now given this, I would have to day that if they did it at sea, or even while we are docked at CC, it would be a morning to early afternoon shoot. I would guess it would be a early afternoon if they want CC in the photo so it would have guests on the island to make it look busy.

I was thinking it would be around 5pm when we left. There are a few reasons why I thought this, but just speculation on my part.

1. Sunrise for Jan 7th is around 7:19am. We have guest ashore at 8:15 so we would need to be completely docked by 8:00am, so they need to start backing in the ship I would guess around 7:30. This isn't a lot of time for a daylight photo op. Whereas, sunset is around 5:43pm. We leave at 5pm and it's much easier and faster to leave the dock. The Magic would only be about an hour later leaving to go back to PC than it would be ig it stopped at CC that day.

2. The "stock" photos of the Magic and Wonder had both ships at sea. I don't see them taking a picture with the Wonder docked and other 2 at sea. I think it would look better if they were all lined up.

Guess we will just have to wait and see! But I'm also fairly certain we will know before we cruise. Disney would have to arrange the ariel photo shoot and I'm sure someone is going to leak the info. The higher ups already know what is happening, we just have to wait for it to trickle down to someone who just can't keep a secret. ;)

Thank you all! "Cot" problem resolved when I asked for a pack and play!

If your youngest is not potty trained you can also request a "diaper genie" for those not so pleasent smelling diapers! ;) I'm hoping we won't need that this cruise but DD is still being stubborn about the potty training, at least she's sitting on the toilet again.

We've never done this but I believe you can also request child size hangers for their clothes. Since we live in FL, I usually just bring our own hangers (the free ones I've gotten when buying clothes - child and adult) and then just leave them on the ship.

Thank you for reminding me!

I am not sure I understand the question Lyne but I will give it a shot. Only one ship can be docked at CC. So the Magic leaves CC on the 6Th for a sea day on the 7Th the day we are at CC. Now I did forget something in can't wrap my mind around. The Dream sailing on the 5th is only to be for three nights. Well if that is the case the Magic and the Dream would both be back on the 8Th. That means one of a few things. 1. The Magic would have to dock at a unused pier at PC to offload the passengers from that 5 night and to load up for the 7 night. I figure the Dream would get the DCL terminal because you don't want to put the Media and TA's in a non DCL terminal. So that raises a few question marks if this is really going to happen. 2. I guess they could always go to Nassau on the 8th and make it a four night cruise. This would give TA's a chance to sample some of the DCL excursions. I guess only time will tell. Oh. Also, I don't think they will tell us until it is about to happen, but this is just one guys opinion.
Still, I like to hear it...

Thats what I meant re asking alan, would they not want tthe wonder back out to sea for the pic or would they have time before docking, maybe they will just computer generate it:sad2:
But surely not, :upsidedow

Ok so for now I booked my rental car for the WDW portion of the trip, came to $197 picking up 10 AM on January 3 and returning January 6. I think that seems pretty good. We eat dinner at other resort hotels so taking Disney transport is a hassle. I was debating taking the magical express and only renting the car for the last 24 hours, but I dont really feel like interupting my day to have to go pickup the car and deal with the hassle. I still need Hertz to release the underage waiver promotion though for 2011--right now they have it through 12/31. If they dont offer it, it will add at least another $45 to my total, which might make me reconsider. Here's to hoping for some pixie dust!

I still am on the fence about the rental car in Disneyland, but at least I have one more transporation item out of the way!

My name is Wyndi, and my daughter, Tennessee, and I will be cruising for the first time! We are very, very excited to be sharing this trip with our friends, the Schillers, and with all the other Disney cruise enthusiasts. I am off to explore the boards!!

:welcome:You could not have picked a better place for your first cruise than with DCL. This will be #11 for me and we always said we would try another cruise line some time, but Disney spoiled us so much we were afraid to try something else!

We are heading out on Jan 3...2 days before school goes back after the holiday. HA HA HA!!!

Ryan is parasailing at 10:00. Enlighten me about "all 3 Disney ships":confused3

There is a rumour that the Magic, the Wonder, and the Dream will all be at Castaway Cay for a photo op while we are there!!!

That would be soooooooo COOOOOOOOOL!!!!!

If the Dream is sailing on the 6th, it should be in port with us before we sail, shouldn't it? Wouldn't it be neat to see the real thing instead of all the "pretend pictures"?

Right now I am putting the price of a cruise into plumbing:sad2:. I had a major line from my upstairs to my main line start to leak and after calling the two major plumbing companies in our little community, who did not show up, a friend came to the rescue with a plumber! It has been leaking for two weeks so I am so greatful for the plumber today! When you live alone, it is always something!

Tomorrow will be a brighter day! I have friends to chat with and a cruise to plan! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!

No right now the Dream leaves on the 5th. According to my friend at DCL they do not want two ships at PC due to the fact that they will have to board us, disembark the cruise before us, and also embark the tons of media and TA's. They want to use the DCL terminal for the Media and and TA's for the Dream. They do not want to put the other cruisers in a remot location. Of course this just may change, but that is how it is for now.

Hey Alan! Last year we were on the Magic in November and the captain had trouble docking at Castaway Cay because of strong winds. We went back out to sea and toodled around a bit and who should we come across but the Wonder...sailing by...We had blast waving madly at the passengers on the Wonder. We had a funny horn battle that went on and on and on! The captain was finally able to get us in to CC about noon. When we docked they were doing a whole bunch of major renovations to the dock. Some said to accomodate the new , larger ships. Some said so two ships could dock at once. Perhaps the Magic and the Wonder could be in at CC at the same time as the Dream sails by? It would be safer than having three passenger laden ships jockeying for a position at sea for a photo shoot. Much easier to time things too. I really have no idea but was wondering:lmao: if anyone had any thoughts.

I am telling you, this is a very well guarded secret. If I were to offer my honest opinion, in all respect to my friend, I think they have no clue on what is going to happen and that plans are changing by the miniute. I think all they know is what they want to do.

Talked to Esmerelda and we are all booked on the zip line tour but she said we are the only ones signed up. Is that right?? Just worried she didn't book us with the group, although we did get our 25% off.

I mentioned my son's hand to her and she made a note about it on the reservation, told me to talk to the guides when we get there and a guide will go tandem with him on every line. Feel much better about that after talking to her. She seemed to know a lot more than the person I talked to this morning. Thanks for setting this up Dawn

At some point they might design that a photoshop would be a lot easier and less hassle than a photoshoot :rolleyes1

I have had a couple of PM's about is there still time for the SM signup. I will hold it open for today but then I have to cut it off.

I am in the process of matching everyone up and would like to finish it by tomorrow so I can start PMing everyone who signed up.

Thanks!

In all honesty don't you think the picture of Disney Magic and Disney Wonder is a photoshop not a photoshoot!:cutie: I am sure they will do the same with Disney Dream.

I think you may be right although they would get alot more PR mileage from us passengers blabbing all over the place about the 3 ship photo we witnessed! We'll see! In any case if they do try for a live photo, we know it won't be the following week and it wold sure be "SWELL"!
