From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 2

In 2005, we rented from Hertz. We called them once we found our luggage and the shuttle arrived pretty quickly. I don't remember standing around waiting and the drive to the rental building was not long.
My company has a corporate rate with them so we will most likely be using them again.

So here is that quick update. My mom got her Premire pass in the mail today. She only has a premium at DL, her WDW pass is just a theme park one. Nothing in DW and I mail today.

I got my premier pass in today's mail - with a 1/13/11 expiration date and a big "P". The accompanying letter says to bring the new pass, a valid photo ID, your DL pass and your WDW pass with you, then go to a guest relations booth at one of the parks to get the new pass activated.

DH didn't get his pass, but we have different expiration dates on our passes at DL - mine was in January and his expires next month. We both have October WDW expiration dates.

BTW, I may be joining you & Lynne on Deck 9 for some drinking, too! LOL!

Maybe mom got hers today because her latest experation is in Nov. I have a 1/27/11 so maybe tomorrow. DW latest is 6/3/11. If we don't have them by Friday we will giving the people at Disneyland another visit. The big "P" is the parking icon for DLR. Please join in on the late night drinking. Maybe we should change the name of the thread to from WDW to DL while a little inebreated. LOL.

We plan to make some of our drinks. After reccomendations found on the main cruise board, we opted to buy a Magic Bullet to bring along. It's small and makes drinks super smooth (I use it for smoothies now). I never would have thought to bring something like that. That is just one of the many ideas I have found on this board :thumbsup2

Since this cruise is so long, besides just wine and beer to bring along, I'll bring the stuff for lemon drop martinis. They get expensive after awhile!

That's a great idea! I get a bit skeevy about using home appliances in hotel rooms and cabins because of safety issues but a magic bullet is small and functional and not used for long periods at a time so it's the perfect appliance :)

Well technically the only appliance I need is my credit card :lmao: But that can all go pear shaped ;) I think we'll be buying a drinks package this time and then making the bartender rich on cocktail tips, organizing bottles of booze from abroad ain't that easy (or is it? any tips?)

Those sound yummy!! My favorite drink it an apple martini. I wonder what the limit is going to be for Flounder's Nursery use on a 15NT cruise?

:lmao: Am I still on the Disney boards or did I somehow get linked to the Carnival board? :lmao:

We have a motto here at Southwest. Work hard, play harder.

The only appliance I need is a bottle of Bacardi.

That's a good appliance as far as I'm concerned. Silver label okay? Rum & coke - do you suppose we can find some limes on the ship?

Since I don't have to drive anywhere, I can have a drink. My resolution this year is to not have a drink if I'm driving. Figured it wouldn't hurt - although I don't plan on getting stopped by the black & whites.

Love all the posts about relaxing with the cocktails! I like to mix it up, buying drinks of the day and specialty drinks sometimes, and making my own other times, or adding more vodka or rum to some of the drinks I buy. Especially for a cruise this long, the savings will be so great making my own drinks at least part of the time, because those bar tabs sure add up. I love that DCL has the drink station with mixers, and that we can bring our own bottles on board...one of the main reasons why I get a rental car (besides being a control freak who likes to arrive early and hates waiting for other people in DCL or other mass transportation), I love being able to stop at ABC Liquor to pick up the goods right before heading to the port : )

Did someone say Mojito? :wizard:

BTW: We received our 2010 DCL Planning DVD and watched it Sunday night. It was awesome ... totally made we want to be there!
