Yup, hand sewing did take a lot of time, which is why I'll keep reusing mine : ) I did have a friend at work who does embroidery so she embroided Mickey's head and "Cruising with Mickey" on it, and then I actually got these great felt sticker letters to put on our names for personalization (both because I liked the personalization and because it deters thieves from snatching it). The stickers are awesome because I can change them to reflect who goes on the cruise with me each time I reuse it.
Didn't think about stickers but that's a great idea. I used my cricut to cut out letters and phrases in cardstock. I glued them on with fabric glue but they can be peeled off. Mine currently says "Cruising the Magic with Mickey" but I will remove Magic and put Wonder. I also put our names on the same way. I do have to repair the dowel rod or make a new one though because we had made Mickey heads for the ends and the ears broke off of one of them. Thank goodness it was on the trip home and not the trip there
