From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 2

Yup, hand sewing did take a lot of time, which is why I'll keep reusing mine : ) I did have a friend at work who does embroidery so she embroided Mickey's head and "Cruising with Mickey" on it, and then I actually got these great felt sticker letters to put on our names for personalization (both because I liked the personalization and because it deters thieves from snatching it). The stickers are awesome because I can change them to reflect who goes on the cruise with me each time I reuse it.

Didn't think about stickers but that's a great idea. I used my cricut to cut out letters and phrases in cardstock. I glued them on with fabric glue but they can be peeled off. Mine currently says "Cruising the Magic with Mickey" but I will remove Magic and put Wonder. I also put our names on the same way. I do have to repair the dowel rod or make a new one though because we had made Mickey heads for the ends and the ears broke off of one of them. Thank goodness it was on the trip home and not the trip there And hopefully it won't happen again!

I cheated last time...

Took a white T-Shirt. Printed the decorations on it using T-Shirt iron-on paper. Then used fabric glue and a small amount of stiching to form the pockets. It was cheap, fast and not nearly as good lucking as the amazing ones other people did - but it survived the trip and held the swag

Hi everyone,
We are getting ready for our 3NT on the Wonder this Thursday. If anyone needs any info or pictures of the Wonder let me know.

I already know the cruise is going to be way too short but I REALLY need it! Our company was bought out (for the 5th time) last Thursday. Many lost their jobs and entire locations were shutdown. I've been very lucky to make it through all 5 but this one is a different and I'm not feeling very secure about my future here. Only time will tell but at least I made it through the first cut. I'm still very sad for all my friends/co-workers that lost their jobs last week and many more that will be leaving the end of this week as they do not want to relocate. (They gave them one week to decide if they want to uproot their family and move.) Corporate America really stinks! (I'm sure you all know there are other words I'd like to use here)

On to better news, I tried to distract myself from the stress this weekend by making pillowcases for DD and our friends' DD. I'll post pics tonight if I have time.

So sorry to hear about your company take over. Very pleased you have a job, but I know that, for you, the relief is tempered by others not being so lucky. We have a friend who has just gone through the same thing for the 3rd time and it is so difficult. Times are difficult right now.

I hope you manage to forget the problems and enjoy your cruise. You deserve the very best time.

FE - packed somewhere - must find it - I think I used the official logo from our last cruise on one of the pockets - so hoping I can just redo one pocket - although may never find them in our storage unit and since our new house hasn't been started yet...I may have to remake mine. Its all good though! I'm going on a Disney Cruise!!

Hi! I just woke up from a lovely Sunday aftrenoon nap---I got too much sun at the Maryland sheep and wool festival yesterday---I even put on SPF 50 sunscreen! I hope the sun won't be that bad in January on the cruise!

Oh, I do hope that everyone participates in the FE! It is soooo much fun for all ages! I can't wait to see what the final numbers will be---what we include in our goody bags will depend on the number of people who participate. My husband especially likes opening the goodies in our FE---on our special 5-night cruise we received a lot of pirate stuff, cool magnets, and tons of candy----he is the one with the sweet tooth so he was extra happy

We offered to be in the group that sponsors the lanyards for this cruise. I know it is only May but I really can't stop thinking about the Panama Canal cruise and all of the plans that must be made---the planning to me is more than half of the fun

Home from Flying Pig Half- Marathon in Cincinnati it was very wet- but a very fun weekend.

You can always buy one if you are not creative. The handmade ones on eBay are a little pricey but their are cheaper versions. Just look up "hanging organizer" and you can also add "Stitch" or "Princess" to the search to find one you like. Ours kinda looks like the picture below but it is all blue, it's already packed so I can't take a picture for you.

Here is a great thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607. It is long but gives a lot of information about FEs. People have posted ideas, pictures, ect. I found the no-sew instructions in there somewhere and that is what I started with but ended up using a sewing machine.

We actually had this happen to someone on our '06 11 night. Someone took one of our DISBoard members' FE. I always say to put you name on your FE. Oh, your door magnets too as those disappear too!
