I know some of you have connections, so I was just wondering... Does anyone know if they will offer the CD to get all of your pics for the PC cruise and if so do we know the estimated price? Thanks!

It is being reported on the "Live from the Magic" thread that the CD is being offered for $400. Since our cruise is only one day longer, let's hope it's the same for us. I was afraid it would be a whole lot more since that is the same price the 7 day cruise CDs go for.

Speaking of Doctors---any Doctor Who fans in this bunch? The new guy isn't too bad---I really like his companion Amy---but they both look sooooo young!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend:)
I'm a HUGE Doctor who fan. Grew up watching the old series Saturday nights on PBS in NJ. I (yes I know I shouldn't) download the episodes that air in the UK, BBC America takes bits out to fit the episode into an hour time slot with commercials. Usually it's nothing big, but I want every last little bit!
I do like Matt Smith as the Doctor. I am probably one of the few people who didn't love David Tennant as the Doctor and I down right despised Billie Piper as Rose.

The new series is awesome so far! (They're 3 weeks ahead in the UK)

I have PTO I get 8.30 and max out at 216 I have 2 other vacations planned some with Holidays some not. I will work Xmas and use 2 weeks of PTO for the cruise. Lexi

That would be great! I was hoping it wouldn't be too much more. We ended up buying it for our 4 night cruise last Sept and it was a bit more than I wanted to spend for a 4 night but that's also because we didn't get out to take as many pics as I would've liked.

Love Dr. Who. Recorded last nights show so am anxious to check out the new Dr. Really like the old one though so am hoping not to be disappointed.

I am a huge Dr. Who fan, and I was brought up with John Pertwee and Tom Baker (way back in the day) and I think the new Doctor and companion are doing just fine. It took me a while to get used to David Tennant, as I loved, loved, loved Christopher Eccleston. I wasn't a big fan of Rose either, but thought Donna Noble was the best companion ever, she brought so much more humour to the programme

In our house, Saturday night is Dr. Who night ::yes::

BTW, I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend :)

That is pretty pricey. Does anyone know how it works if you have 2 (or even 3) staterooms linked (but in separate names and separate billings) and take a lot of pix together? It wouldn't be so bad if you split it between 2 families.

I was wondering the same thing as we have two staterooms linked together.

We'll get along just great as I loved Eccleston as the Doctor and Donna was my favorite of the "new" companions. Donna added a companion who had no desire to kiss, love, or shag the Doctor, which was a very welcome relief from the never ending soap opera that was Rose and Martha. Thankfully, Martha's story ended well. (i.e. she got over it).

Since we're doing a Star Trek night, it's only fair to have a Doctor Who night. I have some of the old series on DVD (the 5 Doctors, Key to Time, Ressurection of the Daleks - best Sylvester McCoy episode) and the entire new series on DVD.

We could have a Torchwood night, but that IS NOT for any kiddos!

Yes it does look like we'll get along great Jen, as I'm a big Torchwood fan too. I love John Barrowman anyway, he's such a nice guy, and I loved the Children of Earth season. I hope Torchwood comes back, but John Barrowman is off to the US to appear in Desperate Housewives soon

My fave Dr. Who episode ever was the one where Donna had to turn right and she never met the Doctor .. brilliant :)

Sigh. I miss Torchwood---I met Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto) at the Hurricaine Who convention last October in Orlando---he was a lot of fun to listen to at the convention.

I too am a Chris E. fan---and we have a "I hate Rose" but "I LOVE Donna" bunch at work. It is too soon to see how the new pair will be---I am soooo happy to see that River Song is returning!

Anyway, to make this relevant to the DisBoards---we plan on bringing A LOT of sci-fi themed DVDs on the PC cruise---will there be anyplace to watch them as a group?

Also, are there any plans for an "open house" meet in cabins---like we had a wine and cheese get-together in the Roy suite on the special 5-night cruise---we were encouraged to bring a bottle of wine from our state/country/region---we showed up with a good bottle of rose Maryland wine---but I'm really partial to the Glenlivet archive 21 year old single-malt:)

I am glad to know there are Doctor Who fans aboard!

any reason not to set up with a laptop and some good scifi in Diversions? There's access to booze there too. Plus nachos in the evenings.

Really, at this point bringing a bottle of wine from home might be problematic. You can't carry one through airport security, so you can't have it in your carryon. And you can't have one in the luggage you check through to the ship..so anyone doing that would have to retrieve their luggage and get the wine out.

There's some pretty awesome Virginia wine though. If I fly in the night before and am not checking luggage through to the ship I could pack a bottle.

Cardidog you said you work at Archives - College Park?

Anyone wanting to bring regional wine, you can ship it to Jeff and I. PM me and I'll send you are address. With so many of us in our party, bringing wine won't be a problem.
We're doing one sci-fi night in our room (cat 2), we can do more. We have just about everything sci-fi on DVD or mpg.
I would love to open our room to people to see. Probably on canal day would be the best as everyone is wandering the ship anyway.
I won't be bringing Florida wine. It sucks. Period. It's all fruit wine and while some of it isn't bad, it's not good either. It's not wine. It's closer to a malt beverage. I will however bring a bottle or two of my favorite wine, Matchbook Tinto Rey. If you like red wine, hunt down a bottle (it's really a hunt). Jeff described it as Christmas in a bottle. I agree, it really is. (Or the holiday season in a bottle if you don't prescribe to Christmas).
Catherine, give me a holler about the ride to the port and then to DCL.

Being a longtime SF fan, these all sound like great ideas to me... :rolleyes1

Jen I was talking about coming in on the plane which as far as I can tell right now will be late evening Jan. 5 after work because I can't take the day off. That means no checking anything through to the ship, but probably picking the suitcase up and taking it on Magical Express sometime between 10 pm and midnight most likely. So wine could be removed.

I forget that in a suite you have a TV plus DVD player.

Yes, Tom and I do indeed work at the National Archives building in College Park, MD---like a lot of people around here we commute from one suburb to another. Sigh. We used to work out in Suitland----just picture the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark---Federal records centers are not pretty!

We are looking into the possibility of driving a rental one-way to FL----my friend and her mom are also coming on this cruise---but they don't want to join our fun group----and we think it might be better/cheaper to drive with 4 people than to fly---plus we know that we'll have our luggage and we won't be stuck on the ground if the weather is too bad for flying. I know we'll be flying one-way back from LA----can't wait to see those SWA fares! I can't remember if Alan posted anything about when the late January fares will come out. This inability to plan my pre and post hotel stays and airfare is just about killing me! We hope to do the Harry Potter thing at Universal before the cruise and stay a few nights at Disneyland after the cruise. My husband turned to me today and asked if we really had to do Disneyland and I said YES! We've never been and I don't know when we'll get the chance to see it anytime soon. Tom really isn't into Disney but he LOVED the 5-night Disney cruise we went on in 2008---he is also a great husband and likes to see me happy and travelling really really makes me happy:)

Just stopping in to say hello! :goodvibes

We are in the middle of redoing our bathroom and getting ready for a garage sale so have been busy busy!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy end of weekend (or I guess Monday for some of you)!

DH and I went to the Company D store (cast member shopping spot) in Anaheim last weekend with some friends and stocked up on the cutest shirts - and I got an adorable Tinkerbell coverup for myself. Anyone else going to try to wear something Disneyish everyday if possible?

I think a friend of ours is going to create our FEs. I made them last time but I am SO NOT a crafter. They were sort of a Frankenstein's Monster thing from the dollar store.

And we put an offer in today on a house. :wizard:

P.S. I'm a LOST fan and would be happy to commiserate with anyone else at anytime.
