We're going to see Thomas the Tank Engine tomorrow! My dad and stepmom are down for the next two weeks so we're got stuff planned all over.

I know it is a minefeild, and this may rub some the wrong way, but it really gets under my skin that a lot of people just assume I celebrate Easter, or Christmas, or some other holiday. This is one reason I don't put out holiday wishes. You just don't know unless someone tells you. Alright all sorry if I upset anyone, but look at from the other side and you may understand.

Alan,

I don't think anyone assumes that you celebrate Christian holidays. It's a greeting that goes out to everyone that does celebrate. I don't remember having seen any that specifically said "Alan, Merry Christmas or Happy Easter!"

We live in America and celebrating or not is your right. I really don't know why you feel that every Christian greeting is about you.

I AM a Christian. I know I'm not suppose to discuss religion on the boards but this is ongoing. Since you don't celebrate, just let the greetings pass.

Anyone who wants to report me to the mods may feel free at this point.

I have been away from the boards for awhile and just saw these two posts and wanted to put my two cents in.

First of all I am a baptized and confirmed Lutheran but I have been lucky enough to have friends of many different faiths who have included me in their services, talked to me and taught me about their beliefs and have enjoyed learning about mine. Because of this my ideas are very mixed and contain a little from every religion I have ever had the pleasure to learn about. I sincerely believe that each person has a right to believe in what they want to believe in and should be proud of it. If you are celebrating a holiday be proud to wish others a happy or merry whatever. Don't assume that you are being slighted because no one wishes you a whatever. Maybe it is just because someone else doesn't know about it and would be happy to wish you well in return if they knew you were celebrating something special. And maybe they would even like to learn a little about it. One of the big problems of todays world is that people are too quick to take offense and assume that they are being slighted just because others are not aware of someone else's beliefs or are proud of their own. I for one am more than happy to wish someone well on their holiday if they are gracious enough to let me know that they are celebrating one.

So be proud, if you are celebrating a holiday, be it Christian, Jewish, Hindu, or any other religion, wish me a Happy one. I love holidays and the more I can celebrate the better.

Okay, sorry for, that. Off my soapbox.

Carol

Yup, I agree with you. I have said before, I am on this cruise not to be at work for 2 weeks. I could care less were the ship goes, of course I do like that is does end about 20 min from my apartment.

Party at Alan's after the cruise!!!! WooHoo!!!

Excursions should be up in June or July according to my friend at DCL. My friend thinks more like late July. This will give everyone enough time to look them over, and decide on what they want to do. I look forward to you all beingboff the ship so I can have it to myself.

Thanks for the heads up, Alan. By the way, you've already had your wish fulfilled! Some of us are ALREADY off!!! LOL! ;)

Hi everyone!

We have been enjoying our Spring Break - had the last 2 weeks off from school. We took on a foster family of 3 puppies almost 2 weeks ago so we have been busy taking care of them...they go up for adoption next Friday. It's been a bit more work then we realized it would be but well worth it!

We still have to cancel our Raddison stay in FL as we decided to stay both nights at WDW.

We did get in several day trips during Spring Break as well as an Angel game. They gave out Angel "snuggies" and we helped set a Guiness Book Record for most people wearing a snuggie at one time :rotfl2:

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! We will be tearing apart our bathroom for a remodel..unfortunately, the floor started coming up so we have a leak somewhere and now is the time to fix it. Other then that - just enjoying the weather and the puppies!

Happy Friday all!!!

Well, DH and I now have water shoes! i bought them for our May RCCL cruise, so if they don't get too banged up I hope to sue them on Castaway Cay!

Have fun with Thomas. We went to Dillsboro, NC one year to see and ride Thomas. The kids had a great time and so did we.

Um no. We live in a little Apparment. Think of it as two standard insides put together. That's is the size of our place. I thought the party was down at Disneyland anyway? What happened? My place is to the north of the port, Disneyland is to the south. So see it would be in the wrong direction.

We'll be staying on the ship in Acapulco for sure. Been there, done that, no desire to do it again. Cabo is the only other port we have been to already. Been there, done that, can't wait to do it again! Hoping to see Sammy this time! :cool1:

Happy weekend everyone! We'll be working outside, yard and landscaping need a lot of work after all the cold weather. But it's still better than being at work.

Unless their has been a change in the itenerary, we are not going to Acapulco, so you really have nothing to worry about on that one.

Here is our pin board. As you can see it can use some organizing but it has been a great way to show off our pins, etc. :thumbsup2

Hi,

Just wondering if any of the PC cruisers will be in Disneyworld in early May? I'm planning to be there from May 2 - 6, staying at Port Orleans, French Quarter.....would love to meet up with any of y'all!

I was going to go, but that got cancelled as I need more DVC points for what is now a longer trip in Oct.

My dh lost his job of 25+years, yesterday was his last day. They laid off the senior people, and kept the guys they hired six months ago.

We haven't canceled the cruise yet, as my dh has a lot of people pulling for him and we are ever hopeful something will turn up.

Scary times ahead, but we will get through it.

On the plus side, dc wanted bagels and since I spent the past year plus teaching myself the ins and outs of bread, I was able to make them myself with the ingredients from the pantry! :cool1::thumbsup2

If you are a prayerful type, please keep us in them, not for any material thing, just for the grace to get through undamaged and uplifted.

Katherine - So sorry to hear your DH has been laid off, times are rough for so many these days. Wishing him the best of luck in his search for a new one. pixiedust:

On the bright side, congrats on making your own bagels, what a treat. I bet they were wonderful.

Well DW and I are in the same situation. We just don't know what is going on. I understand what you are going through.
