They are pretty expensive thats for sure, it all horses for courses isnt it.

Yup, I agree with you. I have said before, I am on this cruise not to be at work for 2 weeks. I could care less were the ship goes, of course I do like that is does end about 20 min from my apartment.

Do you have to actually go to the Hard Rock? We have a Hard Rock here and I would be happy to pick up tshirts, etc. to add to your collections. We live in Myrtle Beach, SC. If you want anything, let me know.

Just the tshirts, This is a great cruise for hrcafes! Remind me nearer the time and I will bring you a shot glass from Edinburgh, but please dont be shy just remind me!! I love sitting in the cafes looking at the back page of menu saying, weve been to that one and that one bla bla.

Thank you both for offering, that is so thoughtful. I do prefer though to go to the cafe myself so that my collections actually reflect which places I have been to. But if you hear that your locations are closing, I would love for you to be able to pick up something for me! HRC's seem to close as fast (or faster) as they open new ones. I can think off the top of my head, I've been to several that have closed: Ft. Lauderdale, St. Thomas, Catania Sicily, etc.

A couple years ago I went to Sacramento to get the usuals for my collection, and as I was telling the girl at the register about how I collect, she gave me the business card of a guy who actually makes wooden guitar cases for displaying your hard rock pins! I ordered one, custom made, from this guy and its the coolest thing if you are into collecting.

I have been to these HRCs (in case you want to try to find the pins in the pic, I tried to go left to right, top to bottom but there are a few doubles mixed in: Miami, La Jolla, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood (CA), Sacramento, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Hollywood (FL), Phoenix, Cozumel, Nassau, Philadelphia, Orlando, San Juan, New York, San Francisco, Paris, Newport Beach, St. Thomas, Washington D.C., Denver, San Antonio, New Orleans, Salt Lake City, Catania (Sicily), San Diego, Munich, Key West, Cologne, Baltimore, London, Rome, Niagara Falls (Canada), Pittsburgh, Chicago, Punta Cana.

Very smart, but since you wont accept a pin from me you know what that means dont you??????

You will have to visit me in Edinburgh:woohoo:

Wow! That guitar pin case is awesome. Now, if only someone would make one shaped like Mickey, or the ship or castle......we'd all be broke

I know! I am dying for something cool like that to display my Disney pins. Right now they are all on the lanyards, which you cannot appreciate them on. I really want something to display them like the guitar, like you said a Mickey shape would be fantastic but in the interim I think I am going to try to figure out at least a rectangle shape or something!

Great pin collection. Really like the guitar. I understand the thing about having to go to the place yourself. That's why I asked. I collected magnets from everywhere I went for years and then everyone who saw my collection started giving me magnets from all the places they went. I finally had to say no more, it only works if I go to the place and buy the magnet for myself.

BTW I don't think our Hard Rock will close any time soon. It has been here for a lot of years and the lines in the spring, summer and fall are really long. Wait times can be over 2 hours. Winter is the best time to go, only 1/2 hour or so.

Thanks for the tip! Myrtle Beach is definitely something I'd like to do. I haven't really been anywhere down South except for driving from NJ to FL, but we just stayed on 95 all the way, other than one time we did a few "tourist hours" in D.C. to see the White House, etc. I'll PM you one day if I'm planning a trip there for more advice!

Excursions should be up in June or July according to my friend at DCL. My friend thinks more like late July. This will give everyone enough time to look them over, and decide on what they want to do. I look forward to you all beingboff the ship so I can have it to myself.

Sorry Alan, I have a feeling there will be several of us second and third timers making short trips to shore and then back on board so I don't think you will be alone for too long. :goodvibes

My DH and I took a bulletin board, covered it with red felt, made a black Mickey head out of felt for the center and that is what we display our Disney pins on. I will try to find a picture and post it.

I would love to see a picture, it sounds great!

I used to collect Olympic Pins I have several of them matted. They do look pretty cool. I got to work the 96 Atlanta games so I did not want them to just sit in a box. I too have most of mine on Lanyards. We are going to HH in May so I hope to gain more. I did get my Disney cruise line bus on the last cruise we did. Had major Dental work this week with IV sedation. And only part of it is done. Have to go back in a few weeks for more. They would only put me under for 3 hours max. More next month. I am still up in the air weather or not to switch resorts at 7months. We are currently at KV which is my home resort comming in Sunday or switch to BWV, VWL? and come in a day later.

Here is our pin board. As you can see it can use some organizing but it has been a great way to show off our pins, etc. :thumbsup2

Good Morning, everyone!

Carol, is there some reason you left some of the pins carded?

I collect pins from the show Hunchback of Notre Dame, so I've arranged mine on the mat of an illustration of the Rose Window of Notre Dame. Not sure I can photograph it due to the glass covering, but I shall try.

At the time I thought it was a good idea to show the pins on their original backs. Now I know better  and just haven't gotten around to taking them off. Hummm, maybe a project for today. :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone! TGIF! Got a good dusting of snow last night - had to brush the car off this morning. Roads were even slippery in spots. I am so ready for it to be over. They are predictiing 40 today and 60 tomorrow so it won't last.

GREAT pin pictures. We don't collect but I alwasy enjoy looking at others collections.

Have a great day.

 Happy Friday guys

:yay: Yay, it's nearly the weekend. What are your plans ? Are you doing anything nice ? We haven't got any plans at the moment, so we'll probably be just relaxing

Have a great weekend everyone, whatever you're up to :)

I have a very quiet weekend in store as DH is headed down to Boy Scout camp this afternoon and won't be back until Sunday. I started cleaning my closet last weekend and it is messier than when I started so I guess I need to rip it apart and finish it properly. Doesn't sound to exciting but it needs done.

I wish you all a more exciting weekend than mine!

I am so glad it is Friday. Today is my day off and I have been looking forward to it all week. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
