From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 2

DD is working on her Girl Scout Gold Award and had to be at the Farmers Market early this morning...good news, its only HOT in the morning vs the REALLY HOT & Humid of the afternoon. I got really spoiled with the beautiful Spring we had, I will be an inside chick until November!



Luckily there is Starbucks at MCO when we land! Yes, have DD...she will turn big 1-4 at the end of July, so she'll be 14 1/2 (almost) on the cruise -- with so few kids (compared to summer & holidays) they should be really pampered with the tween activities.

We are staying at MCO Hyatt upon our flight landing, then ME shuttle to the port in the morning. After we've had our Starbucks & Krispy Kreme 'fix'!! What are your plans?

Im so excited I could burst this am, we will pick up our car and head to Walmart or publix, then go to our hotel, it so exciting, I WISH my dn could come, she is 14.5, Im going to miss her so so much.

Thanks! DD just finished her Silver Award, so Gold will be a couple years off but all 5 girls in her troop are aiming for it and we're here to support them! Have a great time in San Antonio at the campout. Our Service Unit campout in January was rescheduled due to the deep freeze -- yep, it was that weekend -- so our girls are waiting impatiently for October!

I LOVE getting in my car and the temperature reads 114 degrees (in the shade) and then Frank on Channel 2 reports our high was 92!! Santa Barbara is my happy-place...ahhhh, a girl can dream

Which company did you switch your electricity service? We moved to Stream Energy (a friend of ours is a 'sales rep') last year and can't believe how much we've saved over Reliant almost enough to buy the wine package onboard

Off to watch the latest DOCTOR Who...DD is in with the Doctor

I dont like dr who, Marilyn watches, I do however LOVE santa barbara.
We went to the peir for cocktails, I had wine, cocktails are a waste of calories imho

Good Luck to all the GS going for their awards, I was a leader until the great redistricting- that was the year my girls got their gold and went to college. Our little town got little or no help from the council before it became 2 states large, I decided to get out while the getting was good!

How exciting for her. Mine just earned her Silver this year but can not start on her Gold for another year since she is just going into 8th grade in the Fall. She already has a plan though so it will be fun to start on it next summer.

Congrats to your DD and to you for being ahead of the curve! With the rules changing (almost daily), my DD has her plan but won't be able to complete it until next summer as well. She would like her pinning ceremony at the Spring 2012 so she can put it on her resume for colleges (I'm hoping for the scholarship $$ that our state schools offer to Gold Award & Eagle Scout students).

Gosh, wish your DN were coming...sounds like fun! We 'just found' the Doctor, and I prefer the previous actor to the newest one but I didn't like Rose so it's all a compromise!

Santa Barbara is great for its ocean views, mountain views and especially its wine

Our Service Unit is larger than most States and our Council now expands a kajillion counties, so I can appreciate avoiding the 'machine'. It's a great experience for the girls, though, so I'll march to the drumbeat and the ever-changing Award criteria. Plus I only have the one kiddo & she's close to the finishline. Our troop is super small at 5 girls -- at one point we had 45 girls -- and we have a great leader (I'm only the Cookie Mom & Bookkeeper) who inspires our girls.

Okay...enough Girl Scout news!!!

Well time to go back home. I am sitting in the Manchester airport enjoying some incredible Iced Coffee from Dunkin Donuts. Sorry to the Starbucks lovers, this coffee kickes the daylight out of Starbucks and the food is way better than Kispy Kreme. I so wish we had Dunkin back home. Well fight in one hour and thirty min from now.

Lynne - gyros are greek - sort of a spicy meat (lamb, beef and pork mixed, I buy it prepackaged) with a cucumber sauce, sweet onion and tomatoe on a pita. YUMMMMY.

YUM...I love Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee! I was in the Boston area for 3+years with clients and mainlined the stuffthere's a store across from PVD airport which was always my 1st & last stop on each trip We only have 3 stores in Houston area and none of them are close so Starbucks is by necessity!

We're being lazy this morning too, but I need to get busy and make a lemon cake, black bottom cupcakes, salad and potato dish. Why am I still on DIS instead of getting to the store.

New Years Eve I always have to make 8 pans of lasagna for our annual neighborhood party, now I know who I should ask to help.

Another lazy day here! DH has to work all day/night so I made him his father's day meal on Friday. He requested lasagna! So, I made one for that night, and one for the freezer. I always do that as it makes a great meal when I don't have time to prepare one. And I can't tell the difference from the fresh one from the frozen one!

Had FIL (and MIL of course for Fathers Day dinner after church. DH chose steaks on the grill, french fries, and German Chocolate cake, we also had green beans, fruit salad, and cauliflower. I offered to take him out but he wanted to eat at home.

It's a moist chocolate cupcake with a cream cheese/chocolate chip filling, yummy!
