I'd be reluctant to read too much into this. Remember, DCL has applied to go to the inside passage in Alaska and dropped it. They may just be keeping their options open. :cool2:

Thats true however with the new big disney resort opening there it wouldnt surprise me.Im all for it if they do :)

About the meds.... Jeff and I are both on a lot of stuff, he's diabetic and I have other medical issues. We travel A LOT with our meds. Yes you can try to fly with your meds not in their orginal containers, but you're taking a chance. DCL probably doesn't care so much, but flying does. I had my vitamins in a daily pill case for a 2 night business trip. My pill case was taken out of my carry on and inspected. TSA informed me that things need to stay in their orginal containers, no exceptions. They let me have my vitamins back, but they could have confiscated them and that would have been that. So we creatively pack our meds in our carry ons and deal with losing space. But neither Jeff or I can live (really) without our meds, so we make do.
It's kinda like traveling without a passport, you can do it, but do you want to chance it?

It is possible to ask your pharmasist for small labeled containers for travel so you don't need to carry the 90 day supply.

The issue isn't making a hawaii stop on the way to or from somewhere. The issue really comes in with doing Hawaii based cruises. The market is small and terrible (Ask Norwegian). And if Disney was going to do it, they would need a 4 day trip to Fanning Island and back. That makes any reasonable HI cruise a minimum of 10 days, which means you end up alternating 10 and 11 day itineraries. Overall, it isn't a rich cruise market (There are 2 ships working it this year, the Pride of America and the Rotterdam) which is something Disney (which is truly a niche cruise line already) wouldn't do well in, especially without an already rich base of fans in the area. I just don't see a Hawaii itinerary unless someone at Disney has some serious marketing info that the rest of the cruise line industry doesn't see.

I completely agree with the logic. That said, DCL knows that they do have a very strong fan base that craves new itineraries - as evidenced by the success of the first med cruises and this summer's Baltic cruises. It's also clear from their statements and surveys that they are looking for new itineraries going forward.

If they were going to do the Far East or Australia/New Zealand, then it is almost inevitable that there would be repositioning cruises that would stop in Hawaii (or a repo cruise split into two - one to/from Hawaii, one from Hawaii to the Far East).

Not saying this is what they are planning - I still think it's more likely they are holding those spots "just in case". But if they do choose to go Far East, a May and September docking is exactly what you'd expect to see. :cool2:

I agree too however I know many people who have written that they would like to see DCL go to Hawaii. Im still on the boards from the last PC 2 years ago and some of them had expressed a want to go especially the DVC members, alot of others had written for Alaska and alas were going there now.Not holding my breath on it also but think it would be a awesome cruise!

Im also curious to see what Disney does about Tunisia, there were many people saying they cared never to go back there again, much like Acapulco on the last PC cruise and Disney listened to that feedback.

I wouldn't mind seeing them go to Hawaii either. But I think if that were the plan, we'd see more than one docking in May and another in September. :cool2:

Hi All,
It is so good to take some time to check in with everyone! I had a busy week with my family in Northern California and spent today driving back...even tough I had a great time, it is nice to be home:goodvibes
Whenever I go home, I am reminded of how much I love it up there!
The A-Team was awesome. Way better than I thought it was going to be. I thought it was very true to the series. Also if you are a fan of the T.V. Show there is a very special suprise after then end credits. I am not going to give it away. I give the movie two thumbs up.
Thanks for the "heads up" on the end of A-team...my whole family went to see it a few days ago and I insisted on staying through the credits. My sister thought I was crazy, but in the end she was grateful that we stayed and got to see the final scenes!
I was 61 when I started and 62 when I really got into it. You are never too old. :) I like it because it combines several of my hobbies into one outlet, photography, art and general craftiness. :lovestruc:):thumbsup2
I LOVE to scrapbook!! It is very cathartic for me after a crazy week! I spend a lot of time on every single page, so my books tend to be quite detailed...Unfortunately, I have very little time, so I am still on our Florence day from our Medi Cruise in '07!

Hope everybodys have a great Sunday.
Len is awaying running a half marathon, I am at home peeved off in a bad mood cause Ive had a rubbish morning and my achillies tendon will not behave and let me run again.
I am so sorry about your tendon...I have lots of friends who are runners and I know that not running is like losing a piece of yourself. I hope you heal quickly!!
Here he is with his Aunt Carmen the day he was born (June 8)!
Noah is BEAUTIFUL!!! You must really miss him!

Carmen, your little nephew is so adorable!!! Congratulations!! Seeing those sweet pictures is getting me so excited about the arrival of our grandson in mid July!

DD is graduating from high school Thursday and her older sister is coming (with her three DDs) from AZ to see her graduate. I can't wait to see them!

She really enjoyed her prom. Here are a couple of pictures.
Your daughter is also BEAUTIFUL!! What an incredible dress! I'm glad she had a good time.

It is always a worry stuff like that, i suppose its like my dn, she was only 4 when she got specs, she was always loosing and sitting on them:confused3
Funny, I joked with someone 15 years ago , a pen pal I met through work, she should come watch my cats and I go to Fl, her and her sister came:thumbsup2 one of the best friends I have, been to visit me twice, even her Mom and Dad came to visit us a few years ago.
We have been to visit her in Kansas,it was an amazing holiday.
Unfortunatly I only have 2 bedrooms but were away so much and my cottage is so nice its a shame to waste it. I like it when folks use it when I am not there. So any time........
We should do a house swap...My DD and I could visit Scotland and you could come live in my house in So Cal or my house in Nor. Cal (it's in Napa---do you like wine:thumbsup2)
My sympathies for all of you going through sad times with family and friends!

Congratulations to those of you that finally got your flights arranged the way you wanted (I love airline points).

I feel the need to do more planning but feel shut down in everyway.
Shut down how...Is there anything we can do to help?
We are on the 8:50pm flight on the 5th, arriving at 11:05 pm...I believe Carmie is on your flight with her family...I wish we could fly out that early but with DDs school commitment sadly we will be on the later flight! As long as we're on the ship before lifevest party, I'm happy:banana:

WE ARE ON THE SAME FLIGHT!!! My DD and I are coming in from San Diego (I got an SWA flight for $119 pp) and are leaving Houston on the same flight as you!! We have got to meet while we are waiting in the airport (look for the lady carrying a iced coffee from Starbucks and you will most likely find me :rolleyes1)

I am estatic. For a while it was not looking good. My friends here in New Hampshire are great. They said we could stay in and order Pizzia. We went to the New Hampsire liquor store and I got a bottle of Bacardi. Because we stayed in I was able to trash talk to my friends who are Celtics fans. They were so cool about the game. They even let me play the Lakers victory song, I Love L.A. by Randy Newman. Well tomorrow off to Boston. We are going to the U.S.S Constitution then to the Bull and Finch the inspetation for my all time Favorte T.V. show Cheers. Yes I know it looks nothing like the set inside but I don't care. Then off to Baseball nervana, Fenway Park. Should be a great day.
I am glad you are having fun!!! I LOVE Boston! They are hard core about their sports teams so I'm glad you survived.
Now that Ive read the article I think Alan is right . Seems like it will go there in May and Sept. As the article says nothing is done deal but I dont think they would be looking at piers if it wasnt probably going to happen.

I wish they would go to Austrailia, thats our dream vacation but we just cant stay of the Disney ships :rotfl2:
Ditto...my DD wants to go to Australia SO bad! I had a chance to perform at the World Fair in 88 when I was a sophomore in HS, but I would LOVE to go back. Our group is also into booking all of the new itineraries, so we would definitely book that one (if it happens)!

To all who are experiencing loss or the potential of loss, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I cannot begin to find the appropriate words of comfort, but I hope that you have people around you who can be your rock when you need extra strength!

To everyone, have a wonderful weekend!

~Melissa

Well I had a great day in Boston. What a wonderful city. I was looking for a Lakers championship shirt but could not find one. LOL. Fenway was awesome. Oh man. It lived up to the hype. I really did not care that the Dodgers lost. Well off to sleep. I am very tired.

I'm not sure how much planning I could actually do now- since I have cruise, fights (both ways), hotels before and after all done- but I'm itching to do/learn more! I'd love to be able to see what's available as far as excursions (even though we couldn't book now.) When we did our family cruise last May we talked excursions alot before the actual sign up dates- I wanted to do a Dolphin swim really badly so I checked them out in all the ports and checked with all the kids (who of course all live away from home now) so we could book the first day possible so I wouldn't be shut out! LOL

Hi my name is Pam and I'm a planaholic!

Hi my name is Pam and I'm a planaholic!

Im a planaholic too!

Ive been looking at the Jeep tours for Aruba. There was a group on the last PC who had alot of fun and even if DCL doesnt offer it as a excursion its one you can do on your own.

Also last time in Puerta Vallarta we did the Sea Lion encounter there at the Sea Life Park and we might do the dolphins this time as it was cheap and then you got to play at the water park all day. Most of the people went shopping at "Walmart " there last time since we docked right across the street. LOL
Costa Rica and Manzanilla are the ones we have no idea about and since they are new to us im sure we'll do something.
We are staying 2-3 nights after the cruise at Disneyland and to see family since were originally from there,so waiting for SW to open flights up for the end of the month! ( want to make sure alan has money for excursions too).
Best friend and her twins 40th Bday is tonight so going to their party, should be interesting.Trying to get them into cruising and have 2000 med pictures to let them look at

Seems like a lot of people on here are connecting through Houston on SWA! Too bad I haven't found anyone yet on our flight. I know we have some flights connecting on ours from other Texas cities but don't think there are any from the west as I know it'd be too early as we depart at 7:55am CDT.

Another planaholic here :thumbsup2. My dad as been joking asking me if I started packing it! I already have a spreadsheet going with what I want to take, what I need to buy ect. And I have mental lists in my head too.

We have some ides as far as excursions. In Aruba, we are renting a car and plan to drive around the entire perimeter. In Costa Rica, I think we are going to book on our own. I have been reading the cruise critic boards for ideas and it seems like there are several reputable tour operators that have great pricing and are more personable then going through the cruise lines. I've exchanged emails with a couple of them and we are super excited about our day in Costa Rica. I haven't researched Manzanillo and Cabo much yet. In Puerta Vallarta, DD wants to do a dolphin swim. The place I looked at even has an encourter for younger kids (4-8). I think we're going to let DS do that one.

Thank you!!!

There is no way anyone from the West coast can be on your flight on SWA unless they overnight in Houston. I looked, from Los Angrles the earilest I can get there on the 4th is like 4PM.

Yeah, didn't think so. I didn't look at all the cities but I did look from one and noticed that it was estimated travel times of 6-7 hours. To arrive at MCO at 11AM Eastern, that would have to be a departure from the west coast at 1-2AM Pacific time.

Did you look up Sea Life Park in PV, thats where we did our Sea Lion encounter and then had the rest of the day at the water park its in. The dolphin pool was beautiful and everyone seemed to have a good time. That was an excursion we did on our own and was very reasonable. We paid 20 bucks rt for taxi there and I think the encounter was $69.00. We were talking about doing the dolphin there this time, maybe we could get a group together.
