I have a friend who is taking her family to WDW for the first time in August. I am driving her crazy with "to do" lists. I thought it might be fun for all of us as well as useful to her to start a thread for first-timers telling them the single-most important, not-to-be-missed attraction or favorite thing to do from all of us pros!
You have to pick just one single thing...how hard is that?!?

Mine is....wow, this is hard....Fantasmic!

Hm, this is tough. I have many favorites, but the one I would say is a must is the Haunted Mansion. It just plain out rules. The Tower Of Terror also ranks up there (tomorrow I will finally get to ride it with the random drops).

Not to miss.....MK- Splash Mountion, Epcot - Illuminations, MGM - RnR, AK - Festival of the Lion King.

Sorry, but I have a must see in each park.

The first thing that came to my mind was Fantasmic also. Most of the rides will be there if they go back in a few years but the shows may not be!!!!

this might be strange, but my "must see" in the MK is peter pan. i just LOVE that ride and to me i really feel the disney magic on that ride. :)

mk-Haunted Mansion or Space Mountain
epcot-Test Track, but going through the countries is my favorite
mgm-RnR
ak-Dinosaur

I'm struggling between TOT and HM... OK - HM - it's been there forever and has more than stood the test of time.:D

Just one...........Splash Mountain....oh shoot and the Festival of the Lion King

See....harder than one would think, huh? I, too, could list Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, DEFINETLY Lion King show , Illuminations, etc.

Try this...you have one hour so you can only do one thing in all of WDW (no lines, show/ride time is not in excess of 1 hour). what do you do?
:p

I was gonna say Rock n Rollercoaster... until I saw Fantasmic. Yep.. I would agree with Fantasmic!!!

If I have to pick just one - - - - ->

HAUNTED MANSION

This is a must do every trip! Last year we were so upset when we found out less than a month before we were leaving for WDW that the HM was going to be closed for refurbishment during our visit! Waaaaa! It opened the day after we left.

Let's see...just one... That would HAVE to bwe...Spectromagic!....No, wait!...Make that Illuminations. No!!!!! Splash Mount...wait a minute! A World Showcase stroll. Dinner at California Grill! Riding the monorail! First step onto Main Street....Aaaaauuuugh! Okay....just one? Spectromagic!

The Haunted Mansion!!!!!

I had a saying that every time when I was off of work early I was going to get haunted!

In general
"Honey I Shrunk the Audience"
(gotta love those mice!!!)

On a personal level, I love the Electrical Water Pageant. We always hurried back to the Contemporary, the kids got in their jammies, and we watched it from our balcony before bed. Kind of like the our, "Disney Good-Night".

I would have to say Haunted Mansion at MK, Great Movie Ride at MGM, Festival of the Lion King at AK and Test Track at Epcot.
