From UG - new Halloween event at MGM for 2007?

Page 475 of UG for 2007 mentions (in one of the boxes attributed to Jim Hill)
a new Halloween event at DS-MGM for 2007. It's supposed to be in addition to MNSSHP and a little scarier.

Does anyone know anything about this or is it bad info?

This has been going around for sometime. I thought it was suppose to be this year....perhaps next year it will happen! Lets hope so.

Exactly...Universal's event was specifically was mentioned as the reason for the new party alternative. I was just curious since I don't remember this as having been mentioned in the 2006 guide (although I gave that one away and can't check now).

This is my BIG GRIPE with this year's Unoffical Guides. They have decided Jim Hill's RUMORS are worth printing as facts...... I have sent them an email that if this practice is present in 2008 I will not be purchasing or recommending this book.

They did this last year, but this year it's much more widespread. Plus some of his so called "reasoning" is just plain stupid.... He claims Little Mermaid at MGM will close becasue Disney can't have a Broadway show and a show at Disney with the same theme... Has he noticed Beauty and the Beast or Lion King at WDW????

I agree! I have to admit that I thought the Jim Hill portions of the book were true. I was particularly hoping that the Halloween party would happen. Maybe they will happen, maybe not, but I don't think it's good form for the UG to be printing them.

This was a definitely rumored for 2006 last Spring--Universal even did a computer survey, apparently to gauge what the interest in the event would be. Supposedly would have featured Disney Villians and characters from Nightmare Before Christmas.

Word is that Disney decided to go with thier own version of Universal's "Mardi Gras" (the new Pirates & Princesses Party) rather than "Halloween Horror Nights."

I would love to see any kind of event at MGM- so far they all happen at MK- it would be nice to spread it out a bit!
