From the World of Adults to the World of Kids, Fifth Birthday Trip is Over!!

WOW to Disney service actually telling you to leave the tip, and to that waitress stating she doesn't like to put the automatic 18% on so that she gets more. WOW! We are good tippers too, but I get really annoyed when it is expected to go above and beyond. I've never heard anyone say that about the 18% (though, I can imagine it is true, as we generally leave 20% for regular service, and more if it is better).

Anyway yeah looking forward to reading more on your cruise TR!

It was really shocking, since the comment does not seem Disney at all. Crap was more bothered by the waitress though, since it was one of the restaurants owned by the company he works for. This comment did not bode well for what he was undertaking with the new job. Hopefully, he can turn things like that around. If she said it to him (even though she did not know who he was), she may say that to other customers too. Both people were still tipped nicely, so we did not consider either comment a major offense, I guess.

Kudos on finishing your first trip report! I really enjoyed reading about your family's trip. You gave me a lot of ideas for our next trip. Can't wait to read your DCL report and hopefully a DL report also.

Thanks. I am excited to read about your upcoming trip as well. Getting ideas or tips is my favorite thing about reading trip reports too. That and it is really nice getting to know people like you.

Xander looks great dancing. I am not a princess person, I love me DOPEY! When Chris and I went to the Christmas party , it was cold and they had a disney blanket you could buy for $15.00 dollars when you purchased 75 dollars worth of stuff. We ended up with two.

I am glad you get your kids used to the rides long before hand. I think it makes it a little easier and barley any melt downs. We did the same thing as you when we went on our first cruise after disney. I wasnt a disney cruise, but hey we won it in a raffle and everything was paid for , right down to the tips. We even saw the space shuttle and got pictures.

Okay I am off to the next adventure of the cruise, my favorite thing to do aside from disney...:scratchin. You did a great job with this.:thumbsup2

Xander had a great time dancing. The blankets sound cool. Glad you got something during the party.

We try to talk Xander into trying rides before deciding he does not like them. Crap is more pushy on that than I am though. I do not want him to ride anything he does not want to. Xander does make the decision himself though. Luckily, no moments turned into meltdowns on the trip. Both kids and their parents have them from time to time, but no one had one on our trip. It is awesome that you won a cruise. We are unlucky when it comes to winning things.

Thanks Jo. The cruise was a lot of fun, and it is now one of my favorite things to do.

I finished reading your TR yesterday. I wanted to comment on so many things, but I wasn't logged in and I forgot everything. :rolleyes1 At least I wanted you to know that I enjoyed it oh so much! I also subscribed to your cruise TR so that I can read it when I have more time on my hands.

Thanks Mel. I cannot wait to read about your trip with Claudia. It really is easy to travel with babies. The cruise was amazing. See you over there. Hope you are feeling well. You're almost ready to meet your baby.

Wow, Xander really made out in the souvenir department! I can understand needing a whole suitcase for his stuff! I think that monorail might be coming home with us next vacation, so I'll be sure to plan for it in my packing, thanks for the tip!

I've never eaten at the GF cafe for breakfast, but I did really enjoy lunch there. I think its a pretty unappreciated restaurant.

Gosh, thats terrible that your driver got pulled over and was late, and I hope it didn't impact your boarding of the ship. I'm headed over to your cruise TR now! :goodvibes

Xander really did buy a lot of stuff. My Dad, my MIL and we gave him his birthday money before the trip. We allowed him to go a little over too. He really loves monorails, so he always buys at least one monorail toy each trip.

It really was good at the GF Cafe all the way around.

We felt really bad for the driver. He was a really nice guy. Since he was 30 minutes late, we just canceled our grocery stop to board at the time we expected. It was good and bad. I just saw you on the other thread.

Our reordered Photopass CD never arrived. I kept asking Crap how long he wanted to wait before calling (since we ordered it in his name). Turns out he wanted to wait a month.:confused3 It was reordered today. Hopefully, we really get it this time.

I just found your DCL trippie today and since I am caught up on that, I decided to read your WDW one now so obviously I am wayyyy behind

:welcome:

I have started reading so many trip reports way behind, so I know how you feel.

I love that picture too. It was so hard to get that lipstick of his forehead though. If I wore makeup more often, I would have asked her what kind she used. Since it was that hard to get off, I bet the color lasts on her lips even once the lipstick has been wiped away.

Xander was overwhelmed by all of the birthday attention he got. I honestly do not know what it would take to top the kind of treatment Disney gives a birthday celebrant. It was a great week.

UPS just delivered my re-ordered PhotoPass CD. I put it in and all the files open this time. :yay: We no longer have any missing pictures.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane! Good times.

You're welcome. Thanks for letting me plan everything. I had a good time too. While I do not have a post quota to post pictures, I need to be last of the thread. Love you.

Hello! I just finished reading your TR and wanted to thank you for writing it. I really enjoyed living vicariously through you on your wonderful trip.

My DS is 4.5 months old, so it's great to read about your trip with a little one around his age. He's been to DL twice but we are hoping to do a WDW trip late next year. I love all of Connor's expressions when looking at the characters. It makes me want to do either Goofy's kitchen or Minnie's when we go to DL in September for the 1/2 marathon weekend.

I was amazed at how much I learned while reading your report. DH and I are huge Disney fans, but we have always toured just the two of us. With the addition of our son "Stitch" we are learning all new things about touring the parks with little ones. When we go next year with my cousins and their kids, I know their son and daughter would LOVE the pirate cruise and the tea party.

Heading over to read your cruise TR now. Be sure to post one from your DL trip as well!

All the best,

All the best,

Thank you. We really had a great time on the trip. I was happy to share it.

What a lucky little guy you have! He's been to Dl twice in his short life. We did Minnie's on our recent trip as we always do. It was fun. Xander was disappointed that we did not make it to Chef Goofys this time. I think Stitch would probably love the character meal. Good for you if you are running in the half marathon. I ran cross country in high school and always wanted to do a half or full marathon. One day, I will. I just need to get back in shape first.

As much as I love touring with just adults, I love touring with the kids even more! Thanks to naps, rider swaps and single rider lines, you can still squeeze some adult rides in as well. The pirate cruise and tea party really are wonderful (and such a great value for Disney). I think your cousin's kids will love both.

I keep getting delayed on starting the Disneyland report, but I am definitely doing one. All of the pictures are uploaded, and I finished my photopass book. Hopefully, I can write and get the first segment up tonight.
