I went to the Southwest website to verify that the weight limit for baggage was still 5olbs. Whileon the website they had these FAQ for carry on vs checked baggage:
Can I carryon or check these items?
Alcoholic Beverages
Animals and Pets
Batteries
Cameras and Film
Camping Equipment
Engines and Air Compressors
Guns and Ammunition
Human Remains
Medications and Medical Oxygen
Musical Instruments
Seafood and Other Perishable Items
Sports Equipment
For more information regarding Southwest Airlines Baggage policies, please see the Contract of Carriage.
I was wondering how often the "Human remains" was an issue.
I was also surprised to find out that its a carry on, not a checked item. (Of course they are talking about cremated ashes not bodies. Knowing SW and what they did with Kevin Smith they would charge the deceased for a seat)
Anyway I thought it was a little strange. (Also does guns come up that often)
