Ok, the guy in the lime green pants HAS to be a DIS'er. Does the "family" with the stroller full of STUFFED ANIMALS count as posting pictures of kids???? Are they really pushing a stroller of stuffed animals around Disney???

The whole thing is rather strange and disgusting. I don't like it. It is mean and nasty. The same goes for the Walmart site.

I really just don't understand why people want to waste their time taking pictures like that. I just don't...get it. To me, it's not funny at all. I guess some people get their kicks from it but I just think that's sad. We all have our faults, nobody's perfect.

OMG......I was just showing my DH the People of Walmart site yesterday and thought to myself..."There should be a theme park site!"

I agree that they are somewhat mean spirited, but some people dress a certain way to gain attention...If you go out wearinf something something stupid or outrageous...people are goning to talk.

Some of the stuff isn't really anything, some of the stuff I think they took because it was cute, (the baby being worn by dad ) And then you have the other stuff. I am sorry but if you go out of your house looking like some of these people (talking about the way they are dressed, not physical appearance) then you need to be photographed, words just couldn't describe it. And I guess if you have the nerve to wear some of that stuff then you probably don't give a crap what anyone thinks.

Also to those asking who does this, who has time? Probably someone like me. (no I don't take pics, I hate taking pics) but if they are like me, they maybe waiting on other family members on a ride or just taking a break and people watching. That is one of the best attractions at WDW. IMHO

My computer picked up a nasty malware thing from the People of Walmart site. I feel like it's bad luck to laugh at strangers, and after the malware incident, I decided not to lurk there anymore.

Oh, I can totally understand that. I might look at someone and think to myself that they probably shouldn't be wearing that, or maybe they should wear a longer shirt to cover up the butt crack when they sit, etc.

But I would keep the thought to myself and not point and laugh, or worse yet take a picture of the person. That is what I just really don't get...the picture taking and posting on some lame website.

I don't get the appeal of this site. There's a lot of good stuff on peopleofwalmart.com, but I don't get what the big deal with some of the photos on here. Some are a little outrageous, but others are just average people to me. Plus, I think submitting photos of children to these kinds of sites is inappropriate.

I agree.. It's really says something about people who find these types of sites - that dwell on public humiliation - as being "entertaining"..

I guess some people find entertainment in that. I've seen people post right here on the disboard not so nice things about their relatives and neighbors. Stuff that would prob be just as hurtful to them, if they knew it was being posted (and surprised that someone would share the stuff they do). Sometimes it's so personal, with so many details, that that people on the board can figure out who is being talked about (my neighbor was able to figure out who a poster on the dis was talking about and was apalled that such personal info was posted on a board like this by that person). The big difference here is, the disboards let the mean stuff be erased, either by the person who posted such mean and hateful stuff (once they are called on it), or by moderators, where as on the walmart board, it's prob there to stay. I don't see much difference between the two.
That said, I'm always thankful when I'm not in the pictures on those sites LOL!

I find it ironic that people who have done this on the DIS find these site appalling.

The people of Walmart site has some really freakish pictures. Most of the people of this site looked pretty normal to me. Maybe the stroller full of stuffed animals was a little strange, but nothing else really stands out as beyond the realm of normal.
