From the makers of people of walmart....

I guess some people find entertainment in that. I've seen people post right here on the disboard not so nice things about their relatives and neighbors. Stuff that would prob be just as hurtful to them, if they knew it was being posted (and surprised that someone would share the stuff they do). Sometimes it's so personal, with so many details, that that people on the board can figure out who is being talked about (my neighbor was able to figure out who a poster on the dis was talking about and was apalled that such personal info was posted on a board like this by that person). The big difference here is, the disboards let the mean stuff be erased, either by the person who posted such mean and hateful stuff (once they are called on it), or by moderators, where as on the walmart board, it's prob there to stay. I don't see much difference between the two.
That said, I'm always thankful when I'm not in the pictures on those sites LOL!

Obviously some people do. It still doesn't make it right. I don't like middle school behavior whether it occurs in middle school or online. Whether this is the same as certain postings on the disboards or not is open to debate (I happen to disagree with you, but that's not my point here) but it is wrong in any case.

I agree, I didn't mean to say it was right. I have just found that someone who posted it's wrong, has done similar types of postings (talked about someone and that person had fun made of them) right here on the dis. Actually yes, it is open to debate, since this thread is being discussed. But you are right that you can disagree with me. You might have missed that thread though, and it's had most of the posts about that person erased.

No jsut kidding i dont know if it's from the makers of people of walmart
but i saw this link in facebook and i though i'd share it with you guys

www.peopleofthepark.com

there are som pretty scary stuff in there:scared1:

Honestly, I don't see what so bad about a lot of the pictures. Yeah, some wouldn't win any fashion shows, but they're at a theme park. :confused3 I don't like this site (or the walmart one). Don't think they're funny.

And I'm not trying to pick on you, but I would think someone who liked Michael Jackson so much wouldn't enjoy making fun of the way other people look.

Which reminds me, and no disrespect intended, but we were in the movie theater a few weeks ago and some Michael Jackson thing came on the screen. My son (7) watched it and then said, "You know, the only reason I can't stand that guy is because of his face!" He was so sincere, I had to turn away to stop myself from laughing. I, of course, told him that is no reason not to like someone.

Out of the mouths of babes!!!:)

The people on the last page are so obviously mentally disabled - as someone who works in this field I don't find it funny to laugh at people who are challenged. Lets go back to Victorian Freak Shows shall we? :sad2:

I agree with you that it's not funny to make fun of people. Isn't Disney supposed to be about diversity, having fund, and appreciating each other? They guy in the kilt might be from Scotland, what's wrong with the dad keeping his kid warm (many kids would love a dad like that), I think sites like this just make the world a lil more ugly. (OFF my soap box)

I didn't think that a lot of these people were that bad. :confused3 They seem a lot more out there at peopleofwalmart.

I agree that they are somewhat mean spirited, but some people dress a certain way to gain attention...If you go out wearinf something something stupid or outrageous...people are goning to talk.

Your stupid or outrageous is my completely normal.

Live and let live and mind your own beeswax, IMHO.:confused3

You are right. I have no idea what thread you are talking about.

When I saw the people of walmart and now this site the song oh lord its hard to be humble when your perfect in every way popped into my mind. So people are wearing what you think is laughable does that give you the right to be so mean spirited? What is so funny about a man in a kilt? or a woman wearing the jeans with the green at the bottom she is happy with them and they don't look bad. Why does everyone have to fit in with the stepford attitude? what is wrong with people being different .

Some of the comments are :scared1: the one with the man in the pink jacket someone has posted that he looks like a paedophile, what a thing to say about a man who is just walking in a park doing no one any harm.

It would be nice if the folks from Disney, who do read this, and other fan sites for feedback, come across this thread here and see how this site, not necessarily the site referenced, beats up on people in their parks. :sad2: Thankfully a similar thread was closed on the theme park board. Why make fun of people? :confused3
