From the Land to the World - Californians take on Disney World - Sept-Oct Pre Trip Report

:offtopic: Hi there! Sorry for not response in a few days - life got BUSY and also the power was out one whole night :confused3 Anyways, Back to the original program.

Thursday Morning: Oh No - getting close to departure day :sad2: We get to sleep in a little this morning, though!! Woot WOot!

We will be getting on the bus around 8am to go to (the most anticipated park for me)

Guys, I love love animals and zoos! Also, some of my favorite Disney movies are: Pocahontas and The Lion King!

We will be heading straight for Expedition Everest!

Our fastpass selections for the day are: Kali River, Dinosaur, and the Kilmanjaro Safaris!

We would go straight to Kilamanjaro but we plan on doing that another morning (again!).

I'm so excited to get photos with: Pocahontas, Rafiki, Goofy and Pluto, and Donald!
We are also very excited about the shows, especially the Lion King!

We will be heading back to Pop at around 3:30pm to get ready for our next event...

hen we will either find a QS place for breakfast or find a snack in the future world area. Depending on what time it is we may start heading over to the FW festival and start exploring the individual countries!
Sunshine Seasons is a great QS in the Land area (right outside of Soarin') and of course they have carts with some quick snacks and a Starbucks. The FWF menus came out yesterday and I am already salivating over the menus and planning what we will get!!! :rolleyes2

You are doing better than I am on my report...I think it has been a week but hopefully I'll get something out there either tonight or tomorrow...:rolleyes1 Plus not having any power is a very acceptable excuse.

It is so sad when you start the downward spiral to departure day, but let's not think about that just yet! And WoHoo for sleeping in till...

7:00?????? :rotfl2:

Guys, I love love animals and zoos!
A man after my own heart, I love zoos and all the animals. I do love the lushness of AK, but the only thing is I found it hard to navigate our first year. So last year I spent more time looking at the map so I would be more familiar with the layout!

Can't wait to hear about your next event...

I'm definitely stopping at all of the Starbucks at the parks to collect the mugs! I have the one from Disneyland and Disney CA Adventure - I have to complete the set :worship: I'm going to print out the menus and really decide. The Fiance and I will be just getting 1 max 2 food items and 1 drink item at every station - so we have to be strategic haha!

At Disney.. Thats sleeping in!!! :rotfl:

I'm definitely going to study the map! With as much planning as I'm doing I will probably have a binder with me

Hey Guys! Sorry for the delay some tragic things happen at my day job.

We are in the outsourcing industry (Office support) and we lost our largest client and we have 400 employees at their sites....
I work in HR so I'm very shocked and having a little trouble coping - I also found out I may not have a job when our contract with them is up as well.
The only option that I know of, to keep a job at this company is if I move to NYC - Which I will do at some point, but not right now.

The good news - This company has been draining for a while and I have had some moral issues with it for a while. Also, I have been slowly starting my own business (Recruiting Firm) and will start doing that full time in November - so If you know anyone that needs recruiting support let me know!

Back to our regular scheduled programming:

Also, this Disney trip is even more needed after the above post.

So Friday!!!

We start off the morning going to EMH at the Animal Kingdom - We will be making a beeline to the Safari! I want to see the lions and other big cats being active - Apparently this is the best time!

:offtopic: Does anyone else listen to the Pandora Disney Music station:charac2: while writing these?:offtopic:

Also, while writing this day out I think I'm going to change the itenerary a little.

After spending a few hours and knocking off any last must do's at the Animal Kingdom we will head to the Magic Kingdom OR go to the hotel for a nap.

This is where I'm trying to decide if we should go to the hotel or MK. I guess, it will depend on how much we want to see at MK!

If we nap it will be roughly around 12:30pm - 3pm; then we will head to the MK and kill a few hours before our ADR at....

Wait for it......

I was very lucky to get this ADR......

..
...
........

I also told them we were celebrating our anniversary and they thought we were married :hyper2: haha.

We have a reservation at 6:55pm and the park closes for regular guest at 7pm for the Halloween Party - So I wonder if we may be able to see anything from the castle , maybe the parade? My guess is that we probably will not and they may rush us - Which I will not happen, haha. I love to enjoy my food especially for the price at CRT!:drinking:

After our dinner - we will have three options - Go to DTD, Go to Epcot (our second chance to see Illuminations at 10pm), or Go rest up for a big park hopping day the next day.

Epcot will really depend on if we got a good view of Illuminations earlier in the week and if there was any F&W booths that we missed - But I'm sure we will be stuffed so we may just get drinks!

Then off to bed for our last day at Disney :(:(:( Hint, Hint, Since Paul doesnt usually read message boards or anything -:ssst:I may convince him to agree with me to book another trip - ESPECIALLY if they have a bounce back offer - And if my job/business is figured out by then.:ssst:

Also, I just realized I didnt schedule the Boardwalk - What does the Boardwalk consist of? I just keep seeing the bakery.

Oh I LOVE the Boardwalk! It's so lovely at night! It's pretty romantic to walk the boardwalk at night with all the twinkle lights and music. There are restaurants, shopping, bike/surrey rentals and Jelly Rolls the piano bar! If you have the extra time, it's worth a visit. And walking distance from Epcot. It's a nice little stroll.

Sorry to hear about your troubles at work. It is always so stressful when you are not sure what is going on but sounds like you have a good back up plan. Also if you do decide to move to NYC, you'd be closer to WDW!

Love listening to the Disney Pandora station as well as the Live365 Disney stations!

This is awesome! We ate at CRT on our first trip and loved it! We had a great experience with food, service and most of all the atmosphere! We also went on a party night and was actually one of the last families to leave the dining area so we got some really cool pictures. They did not rush us as all. Of course, we had to be escorted out of the park since it was a party night, but got to see the atmosphere and it was way cool.

Definitely look at the bounceback - hopefully it will be free dining like in years past. We always book one then if something happens we could cancel (at least that is how I've sold it) because once you leave you can't book the BB.

What does the Boardwalk consist of? I just keep seeing the bakery.
We have only been to the Boardwalk once on our first trip and it was in the evening. It was nice to walk around and they had magicians and a couple of different performers. We didn't go last year but have an ADR at Cape May so we plan on walking around a little more.

I definitely plan on visiting it, if we have time during this trip! If not, it will be on the list for next time. :)

Looks like I will be getting an offer and will have official information on Wednesday :D Thanks!

Quick Update -

We are still deciding what to do our final day at Disney!

We believe we will park hop between 2 - 3 parks this day doing any must do's before we leave the next day.
I also have reservations at Via Napoli for dinner at Epcot!

I will provide a more thorough post once things are a little solidified :)

Hi everyone!

This will be the last post of the pre trip report! We have our magic bands, fast passes, and final reservations!

For our last day, we have fast passes at Epcot, but it will be a day for us to do any last minute shopping or rides!

I am excited and dreading doing the trip report! Just because the trip will be over, but we may get a bounce back offer too!

Only 21 Days left!

I did not have this one marked to try...how did I overlook. Thanks!

Australia
  • Lamington: Yellow cake dipped in chocolate and shredded coconut ( I may skip this, I'm not 100% sold on it yet)

I am still undecided on this as well, I am waiting to see if any reviews come in before our trip. So this is a maybe for us.

Belgium
  • Skipping the booth - We are not beer drinkers. But depending on how our sweet tooth is we may get a chocolate waffle.

We tried the chocolate waffle a couple of years ago and we were not wowed by it. The chocolate ganache was more like a syrup and there really wasn't enough of it but it may have been an off day since I have seen others review and really like. We may try the berry waffle.

Canada
  • Canadian cheddar cheese soup
  • “Le Cellier” wild mushroom beef filet mignon with truffle butter sauce
  • Neige Premiere Apple Ice Wine

Love everything about this booth!

Chew Lab
  • New York strip, parsnip silk, balsamic glaze and arugula foam

China
  • Black pepper shrimp with Sichuan noodles
  • Happy Peach with peach liqueur and dark rum
  • Kung Fu Punch with vodka and triple sec

We also love this booth too - Yum!

Farm Fresh
  • Loaded mac n’ cheese with Nueske’s® pepper bacon, cheddar cheese, peppers and green onions

Looking forward to trying this as well.

France
  • Boeuf bourguignon: Braised short ribs in cabernet with mashed potatoes
  • Ice Pop Pomme: Apple juice, vodka, and St. Germain liqueur

The Boeuf Bourguignon was pretty good!

Patagonia
  • Grilled beef skewer with chimichurri sauce and boniato purée

Loved this!!!

Just think in a couple of weeks - we get to try some of these delicious and tasty treats!

I know! I can not wait! If I have enough energy at the end of the day, I may do a post or two with my reviews. :)

That would be great. I always have the best intentions but I hardly ever get on Facebook or DIS while I am there!
