Has any one else had the unfortunate experience of going to one of your favorite WDW restaurants and having just the worst dining experience.

This happened to us recently at Marrakesh. Marrakesh was the highlight of a previous visit to WDW and we were so looking forward to going there again. But this time the food was overcooked and dried out. The service was non-existent and we felt rushed when the waiter did happen to stop by our table. The entertainment lasted for just a couple of minutes and then the dancer disappeared. This was one of our top 3 favorite restaurants and we will probably never return.

Anyone else have any experiences like this at this restaurant or any others.
I would like to hear about it.

Were you on the dining plan by chance? I've noticed that if the waiter knows you are on the dining plan, the service is almost always not so hot. (non-existent is probably the right term in MOST cases.)

That is such a shame to hear! We have dined there twice and we LOVE it and can't wait to go back. I would give it one more try on your next visit before writing it off forever. Still, I HATE being disappointed like that. That has not happened to us (yet) at WDW, but it has happened at plenty of restaurants in our city.

We were there last week...had pretty good experiences in WS at Mexico, China and Japan. Then we went to Fulton's at Downtown Disney, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!! The service was very slow, the food tastes bland and frozen, and the prices are ridiculous.

I forgot to mention this...one day we rode the monorail from MK to the Contemporary and had lunch at the Concourse restaurant. The food was very good and it's a pleasantly quiet break from the park crowds and noise.

Why never return? I don't get this. You had a great meal and a horrible one. You're batting .500. The place (any place) IMO should get at least two strikes although I try to give three (unless two in a row are horrible, for example).

You obviously like this type of food and it's too bad great expectations were dashed but just look at reviews here on the DIS, experiences can be less than perfect on any given day at even the best of joints.

Just my thoughts.

We used to love Alfredo's but the last time we were there we were not at all pleased with it. We'll not planning on Alfredo's on our next trip.

My mom had the exact same reaction to Marakesh when she went last year with her friend. We always loved the restaurant. She complained about the poor service and the dried out food. She was really disapointed and said she won't be returning there this Sept.

Keeping in mind Pirates sage advice--our last meal at Narcoosse's was pretty sad, and that after several prior good meals. We'll wind up back there again I'm certain, but not terribly soon.
As an aside-I even gave Fultons FOUR shots at a good meal. Now that's a for sure never go back!!

Alfedos was always our favorite in WS - 3 years ago we found the food horrible as well as the service. I chalked it up and went back last year. Agian the pasta was way overcooked and the service terrible. We will not go back

Oooo! Don't even get me started on Fulton's! I couldn't include that one on this thread, becasue I only dined there once and had the same experience as lrauers.

We have a group of 10ppl all trying it for the 1st time in November 2006, on our 1st night at WDW.
Just made my ADR's a couple days ago!!
I have heard some good things about this restaurant....
Now, what should I do??
And Sorry to hear your dining adventure there was so poor this time...Bummer!
Oh, and we all have the Dining Plan ! :guilty:

I usually give places at least a second chance when things haven't gone well, especially after a good experience.

However, with WDW, there are so many wonderful places to eat and different types of cuisine, if I have a bad experience, I move on to something else and put that restaurant on the list for some other trip down the road.

We had several good experiences (our trip in February was outstanding) at WCC. When we went in April, it was average. Patrons not really participating, our server was training and got several things mixed up, food was okay but I've had better there, so we've taken it off our list for September. Will I be back? Of course. Just not immediately. Too many other places to try.

We will be going in September still for a party of 11. It's really too late at this stage for me to find ADRS that will make everyone happy in Epcot, KWIM?

If you poll hundereds of people you will always have some bad with the good... the majority of reviews say it's still good so I'm going to trust that.

:Sorry you had such a bad time :(

Virtually the same. Our food wasn't overcooked. Our chicken was severely undercooked. When we sent it back and they brought more, it seemed like it had been sitting around cooked awhile.
The Kabobs were dry and had a sauce that tasted like watered down tomato sauce with no spice in it. No better than meat and 3 quality. We also thought the entertainment was a bit short but not too bad. We liked that and I loved the Crepes Atlas. But the good wasn't enough to save it.
They say you should give a place two chances but at Disney, there are so many places to go that I just don't see it in my case.
