Hasn't it always been called the people mover?

I agree about stitch - bring back Alien Encounter!!!

I want to know what Miren says about the classroom. :cutie:

I just showed her, first thing she said, "wow! She really IS a Disney fan!"

Then I asked her if she wanted to be in your class and she said, "we don't even live there." :confused3

I told her I knew that, but wouldn't it be fun?? She did this :thumbsup2 and said, "you got it, dude!" (She's watching Full House.) :rotfl:

Then I scrolled down to the pictures of the girls and she points at Brooklynn and says, "I wish I really, really, really, really, REALLY knew her." :cutie:

As far as what's next...we can hope for a change over at Stitch. ;)

Add me to to the Change stitch club too!
My DS loved alien encounter but once Stitch came around he was mad.
He liked Skippy from Alien encounter. He still has a stuffed Skippy in his room.
A 16 year old with stuffed animals. Yup my DS.

Count me in for a "Replace Stitch" vote! I don't get that ride and would LOVE to see it switched up. :thumbsup2

I hope the electrical parade pins are around at the end of the month now that the parade has been extended! And of course we'll be getting Poly pins :) but I love your pin choices (honestly, can you go wrong??)

I'm with everyone else, I wish I was your student!

Wow I was waaayyy too many pages behind but all caught up now.

I mentioned in my TR that I got a beach towel-well the pic you posted of Mickey in the hammock-that is the towel I bought.

Love all the parade pics.

Love the pic of Bella in the bag.:cutie:

I bought all three Kingdom Keepers books after our trip. I got them off E Bay.
I read the first book & am going to read the second one soon. Too many books & not enough time!!

LOVE your classroom. I would love to go to school there.:thumbsup2

And last but not least Happy BELATED Birthday. It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with your girls.

New Disney news: TTA is now the TTA Peoplemover. A little of the past and a little of the present rolled into one.

I am so glad they brought the 'peoplemover' back into the name! :)

New Disney news: TTA is now the TTA Peoplemover. A little of the past and a little of the present rolled into one.

I don't think I ever quit calling it the Peoplemover!

MeMom-Your classroom looks great-I love all the Disney touches--especially your Toy Story bulletin board! :thumbsup2

I am so behind here but I just saw the peoplemover name change too!! Yea! for once I will be calling it the right name when we go.....TOMORROW!!!!! woo-hoo.

We did change plans for the hotel so now we will be at POR-FQ so I probably wont get the pics of daisys garden at the dolphin. But we will be properly on site so I am very happy. In the parks it will just be me and the 2 kiddos (11 & 2) so I am a little worried about that. DH (aka Disney hater) is staying home for work but he did commit to going during Dec for the Christmas party to make up for it. So all in all a good day. Hope all is well for everyone here!

Oh I forgot. The enclyclopedia of animated characters came in today (perfect timing) I wanted to ask what type of pen works best for you guys on it for autographs? Thanks!

Yay for staying on 'official' Disney property! :woohoo:
Have a blast on your trip!

We usually use a Sharpie on the book.

I love all your disney touchs in your class room Everything looks so cute! I bet the kids will love it.

I hope I will get some smiles from the kids on the first day. :thumbsup2

I am so happy to get caught up. Your classroom is amazing. I hope Abby gets a teacher like you. You put so much thought into your centers. And, a very belated Happy Birthday. It sounds like your family made it extra special.

Sorry we didn't end up having a DIS meet. Erica ended up going to Florida, and I think tinkgurl may have come back through a day early. By next year, the hippo should be ready to have a big DIS meet again. Maybe we can get together over ther if they open up for Christmas.

I like that!! So is the new DIS acronym TTAPM?

Why did they change the Carousel? I just don't understand that.

As far as what's next...we can hope for a change over at Stitch.

There's a whole story about the Prince's Carrousel.

I agree with Stitch. They can keep Stitch, but just make it Disney quality. :)

That would be my vote, too!

Do you think it is the number one attraction that most people would agree is lacking?

Hasn't it always been called the people mover?

To old-timers, yes.
Not that you're old, but Disney old, you know? ;)

Yes, she really, really is a Disney fan. :goodvibes

I'm sure we will cross paths again, and if the timing is better, we will let them ride a few rides together. :cutie:

The clothes the big girls wear in Full House, that's what Jill and her cousin wore - all that bright clothing with colorful blocks, stripes, and polka-dots. I think of them every time I see that show.

Add me to to the Change stitch club too!

What might one think of a 53 year old with stuffed animals? :rolleyes1

Count me in for a "Replace Stitch" vote! I don't get that ride and would LOVE to see it switched up.

As would I. Just make Stitch better, and I'd be good with that.

I am so excited about your trip! I am equally as exited about your October trip, because we will finally meet in person. :cool1:

That was a cool beach towel. :cool2:

Glad you are all caught up. :)

I think a lot of people never stopped calling it PeopleMover anyway!

I don't think I ever quit calling it the Peoplemover!

MeMom-Your classroom looks great-I love all the Disney touches--especially your Toy Story bulletin board!

I hope I have enough Disney to keep me smiling all year. :wizard:

For all of you who asked yourself today, "Just what does a teacher do on her last couple of free days before school starts?"...

here is the answer.

At least at this house. :upsidedow

I bought this puzzle on a previous WDW trip, and it still had the shrink wrap on it.
I had my chores done, I had nothing pressing,
and I came across it while I was looking for something in a closet,
so I did it. :)

What might one think of a 53 year old with stuffed animals? :rolleyes1

I have my share too but I do have to admit when I go in my son's room and see Skippy along with a couple others I do have to smile.
That's when he is still my little boy. Instead of the sometimes challenging teenager he can be. For the most part he is easier now than then but I still miss it .... sometimes. ;)

I wanted to buy that sweatshirt but it was somewhere around $50. I really wanted it but I couldn't justify spending that much on it.

Jill doesn't care much for Hall of Presidents, so since I was alone, I took the opportunity to see it.

I don't like it either, but my mom loves it. Since it was closed last year, I was able to sit through it once this year  I finally convinced my mom I was old enough to walk around Frontierland while she saw it alone, so we did that later in the trip. I went to get Thunder Mountain fastpasses while she was there :thumbsup2

Enjoy your last few days of freedom! My first day of school is August 30. Two days after I get back from Vermont :sad2: August 30 is really early for us. I have no idea why we start school so early now. We always used to start after Labor Day :confused3

Our Vermont plans keep changing  Now Jeremy isn't coming. I think. But Josh is. I think. :rotfl: Honestly, we probably won't know until they actually show up at the cabins. But I'm 99% sure that Josh is coming. My cousin Sarah may or may not be coming for one of the two weeks. Which week? I have no idea. As you can see, we're very strict planners. :rotfl2:

That puzzle had to have taken a little time. Those pieces are small!
Nice work MeMom!

I also have quite a few stuffed animals! So does my DS (9)

As would I. Just make Stitch better, and I'd be good with that.

Cool puzzle!
I also liked the Bella in a bag pic! Too cute! I'm not totally caught up, but I'm working on it!:rotfl:

Love the puzzel!

Just wanted to let you know I will be in Memphis tomorrow and will be making a whip through the Disney Store is there anything you want me to look for or anything you need?
I may not have time to get on here in the morning so if you do want something just text me.
Have a great weekend!

I love that puzzle. We bought it last year, and it has been enjoyed lots of days! I thought of you as I brought in my popcorn container for my desk pens at school today. While I ended up with a container from DTD rather than the parks, it is still perfect for my desk!

Cool puzzle!

I liked it because it had all four parks and so many characters.

I have my share too but I do have to admit when I go in my son's room and see Skippy along with a couple others I do have to smile.
That's when he is still my little boy. Instead of the sometimes challenging teenager he can be. For the most part he is easier now than then but I still miss it .... sometimes. ;)

Teenagers are not always fun. There are some tough days. I like my grown-up kids a lot, so I don't 'mourn' their childhood, but Drew was my toughest one, and I would like to go back and try again with him. I will say that if I could go back to when he was in his Matchbox-car-rolling, tree-climbing, hair-in-a-bowl-cut days and start over, I would take that opportunity.

Whoever shows up, I am sure you will have a good time.

We used to start after Labor Day here, too, but it got earlier and earlier. This year, it's later than last year, though. I'm not sure how they decide.

I've seen Disney hoodies I'd like to have, too, but they are expensive. I have one Epcot one I got several years ago.

That puzzle had to have taken a little time. Those pieces are small!
Nice work MeMom!

We had an afternoon of thunderstorms, so I worked the puzzle to the sound of thunder and rain. I haven't worked a puzzle in a long time, so it was just a fun little rainy day activity. I think it has 500 pieces. I'll probably keep it up to show Brooklynn next weekend.

Cool puzzle!
I also liked the Bella in a bag pic! Too cute! I'm not totally caught up, but I'm working on it!

We're at a slow point, so maybe you will catch up. :)

Jill had some Bella in a bag video on FB, too, I think.

Love the puzzel!

Just wanted to let you know I will be in Memphis tomorrow and will be making a whip through the Disney Store is there anything you want me to look for or anything you need?
I may not have time to get on here in the morning so if you do want something just text me.

Just pictures of anything, if you aren't too shy to take them. We'd love a visit to a Disney Store by way of pictures. :dance3:

I think my Toy Story Midway Mania popcorn bucket will be on my desk this year, since I have a Toy Story bulletin board. Although I am never ready to start back to school, two things make it easier: knowing I don't have to do TCAP any more and having my Disney touches

I will also enjoy using the Kooky pens you sent!
That was such an unexpected and sweet gift.
My students will like seeing them. :goodvibes

********************************

We hope you all have a beautiful day wherever you are. This is truly my last day of official summer vacation, not including the weekend. Meetings start Monday. Some of you started those this week, I know.

'Our' little DIS kid, Hollie, starts school this morning.
We all know she will love school, make so many friends, and have such great times!

Some of you are on your way to Disney World. Some of you are not far behind. :cheer2:

DIS babies are growing and reaching new milestones all over this country and across the ocean. DIS kids are enjoying the last waterslides and popsicles of the summer. DIS friends are going to work in different jobs all over the world. It's nice to be able to come together here and share our ups and downs, aches and pains, celebrations, trials, ideas, worries, successes, and our love for Disney things.

Have a good day, friends! :eeyore:

Great puzzle, MeMom! I am already missing my laid-back relaxing days! As you know, we had Open House last night! I am finding it hard to believe that Connor is a fifth grader this year (last year of elementary school), and Chelsea is an eighth grader (last year of middle school)! When did my babies start growing up so fast??? Have a great Friday! :goodvibes

Morning! I'm up extra early ...... maybe even before MeMom!

:cheer2: There has been a change in the plans .... only 6 more sleeps til we leave!!! :cheer2:

Last night we decided to leave on Thursday instead.
I will take off from work early, after lunch and we will drive about 6 1/2 hrs.
It made more sense to do it this way because I know I wouldn't have gotten to bed early (too excitted) and the 4am wake up would have been brutal.
So now I can sleep until about 6am on Friday and then drive a bit farther that day......putting us closer to Florida.:)

The Plan :

Sat. August 14 - Get up and drive to Florida Welcome Center and enjoy a sample of the best juice ever! as we gather up some broshures.
Make a pit stop at the Disney Outlet in St. Augustine (to check out DCL stuff) :woohoo:
Once we arrive to Orlando we will detour down International Drive. Visit Character Outlet, largest McDonald's and WalMart.
We are staying the first night in Kissimee.
Our plan is to spend the evening at DTD.
Dinner @ Earl of Sandwich.
Then shopping! We need to pick up Lexi's Mr. Potato Head and she will make a Sabertooth Tiger at Build a Dino. (I hope I can snag one of those merchandise coupons)

Sun. August 15 - Check in to POP very early so we can make Rope Drop at HS! Toy Story Mania here we come!
Lunch @ Sci Fi
Dinner @ O'Hana

Mon. August 16 - Today's park is AK.
We have an early ADR for Tusker House for Donald's Safari breakfast.
Dinner @ Rainforest Cafe.

Tues. August 17 - Today's park is Epcot.
Dinner @ Le Cellier.

Wed. August 18 - Today's park is MK .... finally!
Dinner @ Kona

Thurs. August 19 - Today's park is Epcot.
Dinner @ Teppan Edo

Fri. August 20 - Today's park is MK.
Dinner @ Chef Mickey's

Sat. August 21 - Today's park is MK.
Dinner @ Crystal Palace

Sun. August 22 - Today's park is HS.
Dinner @ 1900 Park Fare

Mon. August 23 -Check out :sad2:
Breakfast @ Cape May Cafe
Spend some time in AK before hitting the road.

Tues. August 24 - Home

Wed. August 25 - Rest, laundry and groceries today.....yippee! :rotfl:

I shortened the trip by a few days and decided to drop the Park Hoppers. The only ADR's I cancelled were Whispering Canyon, Garden Grill and Captain's Grille.
We will have to try those another trip. ;)

What do you think?

Sorry to hear that it is your last official day of vacation. That is usually a bummer!

Enjoy your last days of carefree living before going back to the grind. :)
