Gotta love Pop breakfast! :lovestruc I don't remember seeing the breakfast pizza when we were there. Was it good?

No....
You didn't look bad at all!
I could just tell that you hurt.
Disney is a horrible place to hurt, you know that.
So much physical exertion just to get around, the girls would enjoy riding around with you too!:goodvibes

I was thinking I could get away with one stroller. Brooklynn could ride with Mom or Bella could ride with Mom and Brooklynn in the stroller when Brooklynn's feet got tired.

By the way mom I checked into rentals. they have a rental company actually located at the Boardwalk. They rent the small compact ECVs for $30 a day. Plus as a allears reader you can get a 10% discount.

If I'm staying at POP I'm so asking for the 80s section!! I adored the Wuzzles growing up...what a great cartoon!!!! Now I'm going to have to go find them online LOL!!

Loved the walk around POP with you in the morning!!! Breakfast looked so yummy!! I love breakfast foods!

YAY for swimming in the morning!!

Just caught up. whew. My 2 cents. We finally got my Dad to rent one of the ECVs last August at MK and I can tell you it made a world of diference. Now he is much older and has some serious back issues but I did see how much more he enjoyed his time with the grandkids without the pain of walking. It is worth it! I would caution that until you are used to driving it in crowds that you might not want one of the girls on your lap right away. My dad had a hard time at first not running into anyone. They do discourage it anyway in the parks if they see you (first hand experience lol) With my dad we also got the card at guest services for handicap entrances as he just cant even stand in line or the short(long) times.

The pictures are great so far. Nice to wake up to WDW! Sorry your schedule got messed up but I love that you are keeping your eyes on the prize in Oct. :0) Have a great day!

I really like these pocketbooks. So cute!! I know you are so glad you checked your email, before making that trip to the workshop. Hope you are enjoying your day

They still have both monorail shirts at Pop, so if you want the red print one, just call and order one.

It really bothers me that I just can't walk like normal any more. If anybody wants to be racing through the parks with the group, I do. I think I'll give one a try at least some of the time on the next big trip. If we're just going out for a short time, I won't use it, but if we're going to be out for hours, I will. I wish they'd invent a foldable one that I could just walk on and off the bus with like we do with the strollers. :goodvibes

I wonder if they will still have them both in September...or if they were just going to keep the old ones until they ran out. Hmmm....I am going to check out Disneyshopping too.

Your reasons about the ECV are the reasons we went with the push chair. Poppa just grabbed one at the parks because he didn't need it ALL the time. However, the ECV being motorized is a huge bonus...especially if there are already 2 strollers involved. They are like $60 a day at the parks though, aren't they?!?!

You'll be a pro on and off the bus quickly though, no worries!

You can see a person's legs behind the front wheel. Unless you see a person, you can't really comprehend how big this thing is. Those of you who have been to Pop know what I mean. Or if you have been to any of the All-Stars and know how big those icons are - they are three stories and Pop is four. Anyway, they are big. :)
Mickey and Minnie were up.

Summer2010PoptotheTop070.jpg

Summer2010PoptotheTop076.jpg

I recently found out the giant yo-yos were made in the town I used to live in back in Minnesota. Joe recalled seeing something like it being built years ago and after seeing them in person wondered if they were it, but I figured it couldn't possibly be! But sure enough, it was. I met a random lady in Target and her husband worked on them, they were off to stay at Pop the next day, she was travel sized toiletries shopping!

The Mickey & Minnie are very cute...as are the girls in their swimsuits all ready for the pool!

That breakfast pizza looks delicious!!!

I love those bags! So cute.

Sorry to hear that you're in pain. I agree with the others. An ECV will make your trips easier and more magical :goodvibes

I do enjoy your walks around the resorts.
As a fellow "limpalong" I say give the ECV a try. When I have used one it has made a big difference in my pain levels. I do usually park and walk into most buildings or rides, so that I don't stiffen up too much. When we were there in March we stayed at the Boardwalk and rented from there. It was nice to have one to get around the resort as well as the parks.
Looking forward to more adventures.

I still can't believe you were right down from our room!

I LOVED seeing the Mickey phone. I used to have one. I need to dig up a pic of me talking on it when I was little. I had to call grandma all the time.

Love those postcards, they are fantastic. They haven't arrived yet but we will let you know as soon as they do.

Thanks again.

Just FYI, our Disney Store and Toys R Us have these. I think they are so cute, but my kids really don't need anymore stuffed animals!

Brooklynn ended up with 3 more animals this trip, I think, and each girl got a baby doll. I am going to have to clean out Trent's room and make it into a warehouse. The girls can store their friends here and take a few home at a time and then change out on the next visit. They have so many, but they are all very loved. :lovestruc

WUZZLES!! I love the Wuzzles. I want to stay at Pop in the 80's section so I can see that poster. I have a bootleg dvd of the Wuzzles that I bought last year. I adore it. That was probably my FAVORITE cartoon growin up.

Okay...I'm going to go calm down now...

On the ECV, or is ECV...whatever...DO IT. When I had that horrible blister incident in '09, I was self concious but it made me feel so much better!

See, my thought was to slip that poster out and replace it with another Disney poster that I would buy on-site. It could be weeks before anybody noticed, and I'd be long gone. They couldn't pin it on me!

What a nice walk around Pop! I love all those big icons from my childhood days! I can't begin to tell you how much I wanted a Mickey Mouse phone! I always thought that was just the coolest! My mom never gave into to me on that, though.

My brother used to love Tailspin and Rescue Rangers -- for some reason, I always seemed to find myself watching them with him. LOL!

And let's not forget when The Little Mermaid came out! I was a freshman in high school, and my best friend and I went to see it in the theater. L.O.V.E.D. it!!! Of course, being an angst-ridden teenager, I really identified with Ariel and her desire to break free of her world.

Are you saying some of Chelsea's drama could have come from her maternal side? :rolleyes1

Trent pointed out Rescue Rangers right away. :goodvibes

Wonderful morning walk! Breakfast looks yummy, too.

In my book, nothing beats a morning swim.

If the CM's weren't out there every morning cleaning the pool area, I would love an early morning swim. :thumbsup2

Hey now, doctors are not so bad. At least I don't think I am bad You just have to find the right doctor that will help you and listen to your problems. I am the kind of doctor that likes to Dis between patients

I loved Cooper and Brooklyn with the lollipops also. They were so cute! Of course, I then forgot that Cooper had one and almost walked out!

I'm sure you are a great doctor, and cute as a button, too. We so enjoyed meeting you guys. I wonder if the nephews thought you were crazy meeting total strangers?

I love breakfast at WDW. I am not a big breakfast eater at home, but at WDW it is better. But, isn't everything?

My mom had to rent an EVC on our last trip. She didn't want to, but it was the only way she could keep up with her grandchildren. She has back problems and could hardly walk by the end of our trip.

I usually ate a Pop-tart or whatever Jill and the girls had leftover on their plates.

In order to keep up with my girls, I will do whatever it takes. I don't want to miss any of the fun with them!

Sorry that your workshop got canceled and therefore messes up your camp week. But, we let nothing mess up our Disney trips right? I know how you feel when it comes to being in pain with every step. I don't have much pain in my feet anymore, but my right knee that I will have to have replaced kills me even walking around the grocery store. I have limped around for 18 years since I injuried my knee in a fall and since I bare all my weight on the other leg my hip and back give me issues. After my short trip last Nov I was almost to the point where I knew the Evc was my next step if I was ever going to be able to enjoy my trips. Denny says that he won't go if I have to have a Evc he has no idea how it feels to hurt with every step. So, even though it will cost me lots of Disney money I have made an appointment with my Ortho doc to see if I can get some shots in my knee before my trip to help me along. Since I will only be 46 in Oct. they want me to wait as long as I can to have my replacement because I would need another in about 10 to 12 years and they told me the second one is harder on you. And , by the way I have lost almost 40 pounds since April and it still hurts! Losing weight doesn't really help when it's bone on bone rubbing with every step. Thankfully I have a pool I get in everyday and exercise because I can't walk to get my exercise. I don't know what I'll do when it gets cold and I can't get in it.

On a brighter note! I get more and more excited for my trip with every picture. Can't wait to see more and can never get enough of those beautiful girls. I hope Ty enjoys it. He is not known for having very much patience or a very long attention span so we'll see how it goes. No way would he lay down and go to sleep like Bella did. He would just get wilder and more grouchy. I even placed my son and his wife in front of us on the plane so he doesn't torture complete stangers on the plane.lol Pray for us because we will need it.

I need your pool in my backyard!

Bella is just a 'go with the flow' baby. She prefers to be put in a bed and left alone to sleep, but she will fall asleep other places if it gets to be too much. She's really pretty low maintenance - feed her and change her and she's fine.

Because of all of your POP pictures, my aunt and I have scheduled some time next week to visit your second home! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful walks and pictures

I hope you enjoy seeing all the things in real life. When we make our first walk out to the Hippy Dippy Pool and see all the bright colors and happy families playing together, we smile and know we are in the right place. Can't wait to see what you think of it!

I love Mickey and Minnie talking to each other in the room! Too funny!:lmao:
Yay, for a morning walk around POP! I love the shopping pictures. I definitely see some things that are going on my shopping list.
Hope you find someone to cover for you.
P.S- I started my new PTR! Link is in my sig.:goodvibes

I need to do so much to this house! I watch HGTV and realize what a mess this place is even more, but I can't fathom not going to Disney World for 2-3 years in order to pay for all the work it needs. Maybe when it falls on my head, it'll knock some sense into me. :upsidedow

I am sooo glad to hear someone else thinking with my :upsidedow logic!:rotfl:
We were forced to put on a new roof unexpectedly just as we were leaving for our trip in June (I mean this literally, they began working while we were gone.) and it has gotten the ball rolling on doing some other work on the house that I have been delaying so we might have $$$ for family trips. I figure, only God knows whats in the future and I don't want to lose this time with my kids (while they are still young) and my mom (while she's still young-enough:goodvibes) to be doing things together and making memories.

Don't get me wrong, we are responsible with our finances. It's just that ever since our first trip together it seems that this family time is worth sooo much more than a new kitchen to me.:cloud9: KWIM?

My nephews I think didn't even notice. They just followed me over there. My sister likes to make fun of me over my Disney obsession and I asked my nephews if they told her about our Dismeet. They both had no clue what I was talking about. I guess they thought I just walked up to random strangers and started talking.:rotfl2: Jason said he saw Jill and John at Earl of Sandwich a day later. He said hi but I don't know if they remembered him. They probably thought some crazy man was just being overly nice.:lmao:

Such a great picture of the girls!! How cute are they?!

My 2 cents on the ECV is do it if it makes things easier for you. It's no fun being in pain.

Well, I think they're pretty cute. ;)

Yeah, I guess I have to give in eventually or Disney trips are going to have more memories of pain than pleasure, and that's no good!

I LOVE that Disney Bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I just LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish wish wish someone would send me one from across the pond!!!

But will keep my fingers crossed they still sell them this time next year (hmmm unlikely!)

Great pics as usual! xxx

Will Disney Merchandising ship overseas?

If you can't get that one, they'll have new cool ones.
I'd try Disney Merchandising at the park nearest you, too.

I love breakfast Disney especially at Pop. My favorite are waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Now I'm so hungry.

The pool looks great. I'm sure the girls had a blast. Better to get some pool time in first. That's all our kids ever want to do. "When can we go swimming?"

Waffles with strawberries and cream - yum!

They loved their kiddie pool time. Pop has a great pool and water jets for kids.

I sure Brooklynn & Bella will both love all the new themes , If we could fit in a value I'm sure my kiddies would love it too !

Can't wait to see all you & Jill's great souvenirs

Yes, it sounds like you've had a pretty good summer vacation When does school start for you & your students ?

Nice updates

Those Vinylmation figurines are starting to grow on me , your close- up from the Pop gift shop .

Shopping pictures are the best !!

I've never had a Pop waffle but every-time I see your pictures of the irons , they seem to be my favorite too . lol

The other breakfast fares look very yummy too , we don't get to eat CS breakfast that much at WDW , we bring stuff from home to eat or have a TS ressie so it's nice to see there offerings in your pictures

Adorable pictures of the girls in there bathing suits , they really do love the water , don't they ?

We go back the first week in August sometime. I don't know the exact day. I try not to think about it too soon!

I usually eat a brought-from-home breakfast, too. I'm not much on eating a lot at once, but I graze all day.

The girls do love the water. Brooklynn always makes a new friend or two, too.

wdw1.jpg

Just wanted to share this picture my oldest DD just texted me. She's in Orlando with her youth group for International Youth Convention and they are spending today at WDW. Their group did community service and got a free 1 day pass.

Mama's trying really hard not to be jealous

Lucky girl! Feel free to show us any other pictures she sends you. :)

No....
You didn't look bad at all!
I could just tell that you hurt.
Disney is a horrible place to hurt, you know that.
So much physical exertion just to get around, the girls would enjoy riding around with you too!

Brooklynn would think it was much fun, I'm sure!

Disney is definitely not a good place to hurt. :sad2:

MeMom, if you think an ECV would help you be in less pain, then by all means...at least give it a try. It's no fun not feeling 100% at WDW. And with someone who loves Disney as much as you especially!

I love your shopping and Pop pictures. And you are right, those icons are simply HUGE! I just loved them when we stayed at Pop. It was the perfect resort for our first trip.

And I do love it!
I want to be back there right now!
I should get an RV and spend most of my summer down there like some people do.

Pop was our first on-site stay, so I think that is why it holds a special place in our hearts, even though it is not the greatest resort in terms of luxury or anything.

Gotta love Pop breakfast! I don't remember seeing the breakfast pizza when we were there. Was it good?

John got it. I think he ate most of it. Doesn't seem like chocolate milk would be so good with it, to me. Yuck!

So we're trying it out on Epcot day in October?

If I'm staying at POP I'm so asking for the 80s section!! I adored the Wuzzles growing up...what a great cartoon!!!! Now I'm going to have to go find them online LOL!!

Loved the walk around POP with you in the morning!!! Breakfast looked so yummy!! I love breakfast foods!

YAY for swimming in the morning!!

They have Wuzzles on ebay. I looked. Why didn't I save all that stuff???

After getting in in the middle of the night, just hanging out at the pool was the right thing to do.

Sorry your schedule got messed up but I love that you are keeping your eyes on the prize in Oct Have a great day!

I would only need one at certain times, and I think I could go the first few days without one. Seems like Epcot and Animal Kingdom are the parks that get me the most.

I really like these pocketbooks. So cute!! I know you are so glad you checked your email, before making that trip to the workshop. Hope you are enjoying your day

The two at the bottom are for little girls. Bella got the pink one, I think.

That breakfast pizza looks delicious!!!

I don't know about the t-shirts. I just know that if I really want something at WDW anymore, I get it before it's gone. I learned the hard way. I am still looking for the mixing bowl with the spout, but it has disappeared.

That's cool that you got to talk 'insider Disney' stuff with that lady in Target. :thumbsup2

I might let Jill drive the ECV on and off the bus. ;)

I love those bags! So cute.

Sorry to hear that you're in pain. I agree with the others. An ECV will make your trips easier and more magical

Disney has so many cute bags. That's where I would spend some money, if I wanted to go to the hassle of changing bags often. I am very happy with the black one I was given by a very kind DIS friend! :goodvibes

I love the shopping pics...you just brightened my day!

Good! I love it when we can enjoy Disney magic here at home! :wizard:

I do enjoy your walks around the resorts.
As a fellow "limpalong" I say give the ECV a try. When I have used one it has made a big difference in my pain levels. I was talking to Jill on the phone when I was reading your post. We're going to check them out in October when we go to Epcot, I think.

I still can't believe you were right down from our room!

I LOVED seeing the Mickey phone. I used to have one. I need to dig up a pic of me talking on it when I was little. I had to call grandma all the time.

Yes, we need to see a picture!

What a fun morning! I would love to start my day with a swim in the Pop pool!

Me, too!
Just me and the Disney ducks paddling around in the big flower. :hippie:

Love those postcards, they are fantastic. They haven't arrived yet but we will let you know as soon as they do.

Thanks again.

Hope you get them soon. I know you don't need them right away, though, so if something happens that they don't get to you, we will try again in October. They are in a padded manila envelope. They have two Canadian stamps, and that's what the lady told me to put, so I hope they get there!

I love Mickey and Minnie talking to each other in the room! Too funny!
Yay, for a morning walk around POP! I love the shopping pictures. I definitely see some things that are going on my shopping list.
Hope you find someone to cover for you.
P.S- I started my new PTR! Link is in my sig.

I will be there to read. :thumbsup2

If I have to go on Tuesday, which is what it is looking like now, I'll have the counselors do a cold breakfast - cereal, Pop-tarts, donuts, and bagels - and then have pizza delivered for lunch. That way they should be able to handle things easily, and I'll be back in plenty of time to start supper.

I am sooo glad to hear someone else thinking with my :upsidedow logic!
We were forced to put on a new roof unexpectedly just as we were leaving for our trip in June (I mean this literally, they began working while we were gone.) and it has gotten the ball rolling on doing some other work on the house that I have been delaying so we might have $$$ for family trips. Don't get me wrong, we are responsible with our finances. It's just that ever since our first trip together it seems that this family time is worth sooo much more than a new kitchen to me.: KWIM?

I K exactly what you M! ;)

That is my philosophy, as well. I would rather my kids and grandkids remember us hanging out at a poolside table talking or acting silly for Dinosaur pictures or flying over Neverland than me having beautiful granite countertops. Sure, I'd love to have both, but I can't, so I choose the good times rather than the good things. If the time comes that I can have both, of course that will be nice, too. In a few years, when my house is paid off, I can start making improvements with the money that will be freed up.

My nephews I think didn't even notice. They just followed me over there. My sister likes to make fun of me over my Disney obsession and I asked my nephews if they told her about our Dismeet. They both had no clue what I was talking about. I guess they thought I just walked up to random strangers and started talking. Jason said he saw Jill and John at Earl of Sandwich a day later. He said hi but I don't know if they remembered him. They probably thought some crazy man was just being overly nice.

Jill didn't mention it, so I don't know if she knew who he was or not. No surprise that he saw her at Earl's, though!

I remember seeing the ECVs down with the surrey bikes at the Boardwalk, Marc wanted to take one of the ECVs out for a test spin. He thought it was much to hot for the surrey bike....
He's also tempted to drive any kind of Disney vehicle that's left sitting unattended, but we all know that will land him in Mickey Jail!:lmao:

I recently found out the giant yo-yos were made in the town I used to live in back in Minnesota. Joe recalled seeing something like it being built years ago and after seeing them in person wondered if they were it, but I figured it couldn't possibly be! But sure enough, it was. The Mickey & Minnie are very cute...as are the girls in their swimsuits all ready for the pool!

That breakfast pizza looks delicious!!!

The stuff Spaceship Earth is made out of was made in John's hometown. It's called Lucabond or something like that. The plant that made it is right next to the Walmart.

Brooklynn ended up with 3 more animals this trip, I think, and each girl got a baby doll. I am going to have to clean out Trent's room and make it into a warehouse. The girls can store their friends here and take a few home at a time and then change out on the next visit. They have so many, but they are all very loved. :lovestruc

Brooklynn actually got 5 stuffed animals and Bella came home with 2 plus a doll for each.

See, my thought was to slip that poster out and replace it with another Disney poster that I would buy on-site. It could be weeks before anybody noticed, and I'd be long gone. They couldn't pin it on me!

Well you know they were letting you stay in the room for free the first 4 or 5 days, they probably would just keep calling your phone and leaving voicemails about the missing poster!

It did catch me off guard and he was already out the door to your table by the time I woke up out of my fog to put it all together.

Jill didn't mention it, so I don't know if she knew who he was or not. No surprise that he saw her at Earl's, though!

I was in the Earl's zone and didn't put it all together until he had already walked outside.
