Hey!

We are spending the first three nights of our stay at Old Key West! We want to stop and get some snacks and drinks, but don't want to spend the insane prices at the food-store outside of WDW village! I was wondering if anyone could reccomend any places en-route from Orlando Airport to Old Key West or any places near Old Key West.

So whats the best place you have stopped at?

Thanks
Mike

I understand there is now a Winn-Dixie very close to the Gooding's shopping center. From Hotel Blvd. you would turn left instead of going straight into the Crossroads Shopping Center.

I also think there's a new Publix in the general area....turning right instead of left. I'm not exactly sure where this one is but I'm sure others will jump in with directions.

Right off Orange Blossom Trail, from the toll road that you take from the airport, there is a nice grocery store - Albertson's, I think, it has reasonable prices. Also at that exit is a Super Target store. I have not been to it, but someone here posted about it.

I, too, was wondering where everyone stops on the way in if arriving on that toll road. I have seen the SuperTarget, I believe, from the road, on the left of the road if you are headed towards WDW. We will be flying in September and not able to pack the drinks, snacks we normally do. A stop will be in order to get water, drinks, snacks for the trip.

I also have been to the new Winn-Dixie that Pam mentioned. When you come to the stoplight at the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd, instead of going straight across to the Crossroads center where Goodings is, turn left. I don't know how far it is in miles, but keep driving until you see the Winn-Dixie on the right. The prices are reasonable - not like those at Goodings. It's a really nice store, and the traffic going in that direction is nothing like going RIGHT at that light. I have also shopped at the Super Walmart in Kissimmee on 192, and it is a madhouse! The distance and location for this new Winn-Dixie is wonderful - especially if you are staying at OKW!

We went to the Albertson's which is right off exit 11 on Rt 417. It is easy to get to and a nice big store which sells beer and wine.

We used the new Winn-Dixie in May. It was only 5 or 10 minutes from OKW using the back way by the Disney Institute. The entrance is right after a liquor store, there is not a light at the right turn into the store. It's probably about a mile down the road from Goodings. It just opened earlier this year and is very nice.

I heard there is a new Publix in the Premium Outlet Mall complex. We might try that in December since we are staying at Boardwalk, it would be closer (go 536 to 535). Plus we can go to the Character Premier store while we're there!

Do you have the adresses of those two stores you just talked about? I want to print out directions to have!

Thanks
Mike

From OKW, to get to either Winn-Dixie, Goodings or the new Publix, turn right out of OKW. Follow the road past the Disney Institute and turn right at the end. Get in the left lane and make a left at Hotel Blvd (across from Downtown Disney). At the end of Hotel Blvd, go left for Winn-Dixie, straight for Goodings or right for Publix (this is 535). Goodings is straight across in the Crossroads Shopping Center. Winn-Dixie would be about a mile down the road after you make the left, it's on the right side. I haven't been to the new Publix, but from what I heard it's in the Premium Outlet Complex. To get there, make a right at the end of Hotel Blvd, get in the left lane and make a left at the light, right after the I-4 overpass (Vineland Road). Follow Vineland about a mile and the Premium Outlets are right after the Shrine Church. There is also a Publix farther down on 535 on the left, at the 192 intersection. The Superwalmart is a couple miles from the 535/192 intersection on 192, turn left at the intersection, it's next to Medeival Times.

We visit Albertson's on Orange Blossom Dr near the toll road on our way to OKW from MCO. The prices are very reasonable and is a fairly new store with most of the things you would need.
