From Oil Wells to Jingle Bells-Bells,pg.66, See you in September!

Boy, I got totally lost where I left off here, didn't help when I got up in the middle of the night and posted under Smidgy's name, no Ponzi, Smidgy isn't appreciative of some of the more upscale cultural forms of entertainment like M*A*S*H.

No worries. I figured it was you. Wasn't the first time, probably won't be the last. :goodvibes

How about zebra domes, can you make them at home too?

http://chowtown.wordpress.com/2009/...disneys-animal-kingdom-lodge-boma-restaurant/

or an easy version...

Ive mentioned before that my guy is a tad on the old side, just this side of 110 so he is only there 2 days a week and on those days this office is realy crowded, even though there's other retina specialists in the office he's got quite a following, maybe it's because people like to hear his stories about when he was a young waiter and got a 12 top at the Last Supper...
People are starting to come in now and the room is filling up, finally, I see him walk by, Peter behind him.

:lmao:

When he was done, he sat back in his chair reading my chart again and making notations, wasn't saying a word and his silence was not only unusual, but a tad ominous so I broke the silence and just said, "Thoughts?"

"Yes, After I go and see if the film is ready from the OCT and read them, Then you will get my thoughts."

Yep, the ominous feeling was getting stronger now, Diane said she felt that way herself, wasn't just me.

He came back in ten minutes and pulled up a chair.
Normally he's gonna show me the pictures and diagrams of the eye and pics of his grandkids as he explains things to me, but not today.

Okay, at this point you had me really, realllly worried. :scared1:

...I think things will improve a lot when we can get the swelling and inflamation down. "

PHEW!!! :scared:

So, yes, I will get back to the report, still gotta finish this baby off, guten abend, neb:hug:

Just about coming up on guten morgen for me. So happy to hear that the eye's getting better. Looking forward to the next installment. :goodvibes

Glad to hear this news!! As always you are in my thoughts and prayers, I hope that eye just gets better and better with the meds.

We are split staying with the Poly and Boardwalk Villas on the November trip. I have stayed in mods or Pop so this will be an experience :rotfl:. We are popping down to Pop in May though for another D23 event, they suckered me into it. I love stuff about Disney history and this is supposed to have a ton of it! I finally get to see the Flower and Garden fest too so that is a bonus!

I can't wait to read about your deluxe split stay experience, don't let people hog the pool chairs!!

tracy, we stayed at boardwalk villas. very fun! on a non park day, it's fun to watch illuminations from the bridge between Boardwalk and Beach Club.

this will be the first time for us at a Deluxe resort as NON smokers!!! this was the thing we hated about Deluxes. the long walk to an elevator, and out and another walk to the DSA. and.. who can enjoy a cocktail on a balcony without a cig? well, now.. WE CAN!!! yay!

Fabulous news! So glad to hear your eye is improving! And that you've both kept up the not smoking too! I quit many years ago now, and I really applaud you both, cause quitting is KILLER.

Congrats on the good news Nebo!!!

Hopefully you can use those good eyes to watch your beloved Chicago Bears this fall, though I'm having my doubts!

The way my Pats ended the season it might be good for me to have a year away to recover!!

Jay

Nebo - So happy to hear thing went will with the Doc! Nothing feels like being told you DON'T have to get a needle in the eye!:cool1::cool1:

Smidgy - We have never stayed Deluxe, but plan on it the enxt time we go (Hence the BIG gap in our next trip). Maybe I can quit smoking by then:goodvibes

So glad to hear your appointment with the eye doc went well. AND that both of you are still not smoking! :goodvibes

Nebo, YAY!!! SO happy for the good report card! :yay::yay::yay:

Sandy, thanks for the suggestions for Montana, got them saved.

Nebo, Summer may leave Montana on July 5th, but he says 30's there is short and flip-flop weather, and I tell him that snow is good cause it means he can use the new snowblower he just bought!

Forgot to say, my Montana plans also include making Heart Attack on a plate, been ages, but sooo good!

Do i have this right? You are going all the way to almost Ponzi land to make bacon and eggs? or is it bison and eggs up there? Or is there something I'm missing? Give, always looking for new bad things to eat.

I have so much to go back and catch up on. I have been MIA lately and have only recently got back to posting on my own TR!

So glad to hear you got a thumbs up on the eyes again. I bet that was a huge relief.

Ok, going back now to read what I have missed.

hi Tammy, to be honest, I'm looking more forward to when I am the one that can tell things are getting better. I never much cared if the thermometer read 98.6 if I still felt like crap.

Have you looked at Costco for the pills? I've bought Occuvite there for my mom (macular degeneration). It looks like they're out of it right now, but they have Preservision, which is very similar. http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...=3&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1
Costco is a lot cheaper than most drugstores.
And once again I say, better than a poke in the eye!

Danielle, as a matter of fact, he specifically mentiioned Costco, but we aren't members, guess I'll have to llook more into it now. And I bought instead the Walgreens brand of Occuvite, almost half priced and all the ingrediments matched up almost identically. What I found funny was both teh Occuvite and Walgreens version also have Lutien in them,,,,, a whopping 2 miligrams,,,,,,, he wants me to take 40 mgs.

I bought these pills, not cheap, the lutein was over 20 bucks for only 30 count, and you can tell there's zinc and metals in the Occuvite, it smells like an old tin can when you take the lid off.
Not sure how this kind of thing is good for eyes but even after only taking them a few days now I can feel a difference already:
I keep turning to the north!

:rotfl::happytv::rotfl2:

except .. I don't believe you. Nebo NEVER turns to the NORTH! it's SOUTH, always SOUTH!

Wow, I got a few laughs out of Smidgy, where's the calender? Nope, not April 1 yet. :happytv:
She has always been my harshest critic but in a little bit she's not gonna have ol' Nebo to push around anymore, who's gonna volunteer to take my place here? Oh, here comes a candidate;;;;

Trace, what a great combo of resorts, especially for someone who's never stayed there before.:banana:

Ok, Disney trivia question: (and I am not responsible for any mistakes in accuracy concerning my questions since I may have dreamt the whole thing or heard it when I was drunk.)
The writers of that little known Disney song, It's a Small World, also wrote two other "ditties" associated with Disney, and yes, I took muchly care typing that word just now.
What are the other two, and no fair googling.

No worries. I figured it was you. Wasn't the first time, probably won't be the last. :goodvibes

The first couple years we were on the dis we were both constantly posting under each other's names, and sometimes it would be almost embarrasing.

Hmm , I've got the time now to cook, now, all i have to do is order some desire.....

Just about coming up on guten morgen for me. So happy to hear that the eye's getting better. Looking forward to the next installment. :goodvibes

I'm sure Marita will be quick to tell you that I probably used guten abend incorrectly the way I used it, a better quote would have been "guten nacht", right fraulein?

I suspect it's South: turns south, North: dragged kicking and screaming?

You know, if it was you instead of me, and everything else was the same like in where we live,,,, would you have just kinda turned around in circles?:lmao:

tracy, we stayed at boardwalk villas. very fun! on a non park day, it's fun to watch illuminations from the bridge between Boardwalk and Beach Club.
So true, Tracy, you can even hear the music from there! And then you can walk over to the Swan and watch folks make idiots of themselves singing karaoke there, it starts at 9:30, every night of the week,,,, not that I would know anything about singing and making a fool of myself.:rolleyes1

this will be the first time for us at a Deluxe resort as NON smokers!!! this was the thing we hated about Deluxes. the long walk to an elevator, and out and another walk to the DSA. and.. who can enjoy a cocktail on a balcony without a cig? well, now.. WE CAN!!! yay!

Smidgy and I have talked about this and it DOES have ma a bit concerned,, there are just SO MANY triggers at Disney that are going to make me reach for my smokes. And yes, I did look forward to a lot of the smoking sections and spending time in some of them, and not just for the cigarette, cuz it got to where sitting in the rocking chair at BTMR or having a coffee from Min and Bill's and enjoying it with a smoke by Echo Lake.

So glad that your eye is starting to heal itself.

hey Reelmom's still here, nice to see you, got any more Nebo pictures? :rotfl:

Fabulous news! So glad to hear your eye is improving! And that you've both kept up the not smoking too! I quit many years ago now, and I really applaud you both, cause quitting is KILLER.

Yah baby! Over two months now for daboteofus! And for me, personally, I am stil in shock and awe, to use an overused and misused phrase.

Congrats on the good news Nebo!!!

Hopefully you can use those good eyes to watch your beloved Chicago Bears this fall, though I'm having my doubts!

Na, they will get it straightened out by then, too much money at stake. But will the Bears get their own act straightened out? And I see you made a point of making sure I see your regular name in your signature, they are still slamming him here in Chicago and Lovie too the way the whole "What in the hell is the matter with Cutler" thing was handled.

I'm glad you got good news about your eyes!! :thumbsup2

Hi Big Z,,,,ok, that's what a Cubs fan would call you,,,,,luckily, I don't have that disease,,,but anyway, I'm hoping they are right, I just need time.
I'm also hoping that the new changes they are making to Star Tours are worth it, unlike every time the try to "FIX" , Journey into Imaginaion or Alien/Stitch/encounter/escape, and it ends up getting worse, that's why 7 years ago I promised to leave my eyes to Michael Eisner.

Just the fear of that drove his ouster!

But I could still leave my back to Bob Ygor if Start Tours 2 sucks,

Nebo - So happy to hear thing went will with the Doc! Nothing feels like being told you DON'T have to get a needle in the eye!:cool1::cool1:

What I would think ranks right up there with receiving a shot in the eye would be,,,,,,having to GIVE someone a shot in the eye! Picture doing that!:scared1:

Smidgy - We have never stayed Deluxe, but plan on it the enxt time we go (Hence the BIG gap in our next trip). Maybe I can quit smoking by then:goodvibes

Janet, I teased you before on the "big gap" as yuou call it between trips, I'm sorry, the "gap" you talk of isn't covered so much by the calender as it would be by a DeLorean. :happytv:

So glad to hear your appointment with the eye doc went well. AND that both of you are still not smoking! :goodvibes

Yep, I did it, I did it I did itididitididitididit,,, yeah, I know, WE did it,,, but sometimes I want to just blow my horn,,,,FORTY YEARS of 2 and a half packs a day, pretty much Viceroy the entire time until December of '07 when they quit making them and I had to find another brand. ( I chose Pall Mall cuz they were generic priced) and no, Smidgy didn't smoke near as much as I did.

Dat's it for now,,,,,, and the answer is????????

Oh what the heck, I also want to know who is the Dad's voice in Carousel of Progress, this one is easy.

The Sherman brothers also wrote:

Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow and the Tiki Room song, along with songs for The Parent Trap, Winnie the Pooh, and one of my favorite movies Mary Poppins. I am so excited we get to see Richard Sherman at Destination D.

WOw, this is what happens to me a lot, the teacher becomes the student, sure am glad i'm not teaching anything about undertaking or embalming.
I didn't know about Tiki room involvement.

But I am wondering if YOU knew there is still ANOTHER song that will get stuck between your frontal lobe and the Sea of Kardashian that you haven't named yet. And it also seems to me that your assignment is ,,, ahem,,, only half finished,,,as in, there was another question along with "famous composer".
Geesh!, kids these days!

Hmm well "One Little Spark" and "Winnie the Pooh" both get stuck in my head and they are Sherman Brothers songs as well. Would it be one of those?

You're doing this on purpose, right?
Wanna see me crack!
Just gonna answer one question at a time
Gonna keep ignoring the second question
Just to see what happens
Seehowlongitakeit!!!

Yes, itjk's ONELITTLEE SPAERK FO THE FIRSTkwestiyn. .....................................................

AND WHO THE *&^&** IS THE DAD IN C.O.P.???????????????????????????

where's my smokes?

aaaaaahhhhhh

So glad that you got good news about your eyes Nebo. I've been praying that you would.

Do i have this right? You are going all the way to almost Ponzi land to make bacon and eggs? or is it bison and eggs up there? Or is there something I'm missing? Give, always looking for new bad things to eat.

Bacon and eggs?? HAAH!! Amateur!
No, sirreee, a proper Heart Attack on a Plate involves pork cutlets (schnitzel), onions, heavy cream, sour cream, gouda cheese, mushrooms and salt pork all baked together in the oven. Eat with some fresh french bread.

I'm sure Marita will be quick to tell you that I probably used guten abend incorrectly the way I used it, a better quote would have been "guten nacht", right fraulein?

Well, guten abend is right for earlyish evening when there is still some left of it. Gute Nacht is for late nights. Note that Abend is masculine (der Abend), thus "guten", whereas Nacht is feminine (die Nacht), thus "gute".

This concludes your German lesson for this quarter.

You know, if it was you instead of me, and everything else was the same like in where we live,,,, would you have just kinda turned around in circles?:lmao:

Oh, probably. I usually turn around in circles before I go to bed anyway. Mmmm.... bed... I vaguely remember sleep...

Oh what the heck, I also want to know who is the Dad's voice in Carousel of Progress, this one is easy.

Gee, I don't know if I wanna answer that... Will you give me a Red Ryder BB Gun with a compass in the stock, and "this thing that tells time" if I get it right?

.
the point being?
but I AM 54 years old. and been smoking since I was 15. yes, I DID cut down the last few years, but I REALLY miss smoking... a LOT! It was (and is) hard for me, too. but, as I know Nebo has high blood pressure, and how bad smoking is for the eyes, I have been saying for a couple years now, "let's quit. together!" because Iknow there is no way Nebo could quit if I didn't. but, hey, I'm not the one to make the comparison.....
um, just sayin'....
