From Oil Wells to Jingle Bells-Bells,pg.66, See you in September!

Wow I'm glad we can't go in the summer months (that is our terrorist season up here, Dh and I can't get away due to our jobs) we always go end of Feb, first part of March. But I must say most our foreign tourist are really nice and well behaved. I really think that if the brazilians came here they would be feed to the bears.:rolleyes1

Ps I hope your knee is alright. That sounded like quite a fall.:flower3:

Hey Nebo! I am a long time lurker, finally coming out of hiding...DH led me to your post (can you guess who DH is?) who found it on RigLee's TR and told me I had to read it. I am now hooked! I had planned on coming out of hiding last week but an unexpected death in the family kept me away. I am here now! and i am absolutely loving your TR. I have to say that the laughs you have given me so far on this report alone are enough to give you a huge hug, as i have needed the humor this past week, however, I promise I won't do that, as I am accident prone as well and would probably end up tripping over something in the process and then you would have to write about it.;) Anywho...off to catch up on your other TR's and wait for a new installment on this one. Just wanted to say Hi! :wave2:

I am so enjoying you trip report.

I thought I was the only one that could hurt myself just by walking, lol. On my right side I have broke the humerus bone (the ball part of the socket bone to my shoulder) in three places. I either tripped on air or a dust bunny (think I will go with the dust bunny, it was a big dust bunny), but I went down and a couple of hours later my friend was calling the rescue squad that I had fallen and couldn't get up. They came in and thought it was an eighty year old lady, surpise surprise when it was a lady in her early 50's, lol.

Also got hit by a car and broke my leg in three places, okay I was 5 and walking across the street counting candy but the guy ran a red light and knocked me for a loop (good thing out of school for sick months, bad thing even though I had a teacher come to my house failed the 1st grade). :sad2:

I also broke three toes on my right foot going after my daughter. She had been bad and I was going to get her and put her in her room and hit the edge of a brick hearth and went down like I had been shot, can we say ouch, lol.

No more broken bones though in March I did fall off the edge of the sidewalk and jam my pinky finger, still hurts.

So I am one of those people that are considered an accident waiting to happen.

I have so enjoyed reading you report but at the same time it makes me sad. My husband passed away last year and I just can't imagine goint to Disney for the first time without him being there with the grandkids. I expect I will be doing a lot of tearing up. Reading about how much fun you and smidgy are having just makes my day.

that is SO funny!!! I thought I was logged in, but I guess I was still under Nebo. so I just posted (under Nebo). and now it looks like HE called TyRY a liar for saying I look good! (guess I'll leave it like that.. I should have left it without an explanation!:rotfl:)

Hey - (as we are discussing elsewhere) you get to wear you hair down in Florida! Mine makes me look like a wild bush. :rotfl2:

Tracy, unfortunately, we are just getting started with the tour groups. And I thought she looked good too or I wouldn't have posted them.
ACK!!!

Wait a minute, Nebo is calling Tracy a liar but I'm Nebo and now reading this but Smidgy says she's Nebo calling Tracy a liar so that would make Smidgy the liar!:confused3

Let's blame the tour groups! :lmao:
But not as hard as I did.
With my right shin.

I never saw it. I went down hard, tray went flying, crushed some petunias and ended up eyeball to eyeball with a blackbird that wasn't fazed in the slightest.
At first I had no idea what went wrong, I swore there was nothing there in front of me to trip on. But I leaped to my feet, tried to pick up all the junk that's now scattered around, and tried really hard not to look at anybody sitting at all the tables around me.

I couldn't have made more of an entrance if I had jumped up naked singing "Stayin Alive", "Stayin Alive".

That would have be interesting....

To make matters worse, a passing by cast member apparently witnessed the whole thing and ran up to me, "Sir, oh my God, are you ok?"
"Honestly, I'm not sure yet, think I am." And I looked down and blood is running down my leg.

On further inspection, it was just a deep scrape on my shin, there was a small gouge on my already swollen knee, and I lost some skin off my right big toe.

She kept trying to get me to go to the first aid station, but someone else handed me some napkins and I used them to hold on my leg until the bleeding stopped.

Eventually Diane said, "You finished?" "Can we go see Philharmagic now?"

I'm kidding, she got a cup of ice to help stop the bleeding, THEN we went and watched Philharmagic.

Just like a good Diser should...fight through the pain! ;)

Shall we see what's in the mail bag?

Can't wait for the next update tomorrow!
I can't believe how rude those Brazilian people were!
I like lists too. So will you put your value resorts in a list of best to worst? We've only done two and I'm curious what you think.

Well, as you can see OKittysquared, I lied. Ended up not going anywhere, just wasn't sure so I thought I'd warn everyone.

As almost any Disney resort veteran can tell you ranking the resorts in a favorite list order is purt near impossible because you have different favorites about each one, but then you have to throw in the stipulations. Such as;;

If you are going to spend most of your time in the parks, with just some intermittent pool time, my list would be;
1. Sports (but not in July or December, and you must stay in preferred area, Surf's Up
2. Pop
3. Movies (but you must stay in preferred area Toy Story, in particular, Andy's Room)
4. Jazz section

If we were going as cheaply as possible, no preferred;
1 Pop, fifties section
2. Music, Jazz section
3 Movies, Dalmations or Mighty Ducks
4 Sports, Home Run

Even though the y took away the frozen cokes for the mugs at Pop, it still has a great walking path along an actual lake that is just used for looking at and feeding ducks and birds, but Pop has the most choices at the foode court, a better location that doesn't share busses with the other All Stars, and an extra pool. This is my opinion. We are booked right now to go back to Pop in December if we keep the trip, this will be our sixth time there, and the total for the previous 5 trips there comes to , um, 30 nights that we have already stayed there.
Wow, that's a month!
Ok, how's that for being OCD?

We live 3 hours south of Anchorage on the Kenai Peninsula. There is a town call Kenai but we don't live there. The witch came from my dad he always calls me witchie. I thought it was so cool that smidgy called me witchie.:thumbsup2

Witchy woman it is! Great, all I have to do is think of that song and it's already running a constant loop in my head.

TOO DARN CUTE!! I didn't even know they HAD Boo dolls! I'm going to have to look while I"m down there. There USED TO BE a Dis store in the mall right by my house, here in Indy.. but they closed it about 6 months ago.. SO SAD! Or else, I'd totally have one now!

I never saw Boo dolls before either, but you can't always trust Colleen. She is such a good photographer that she even made me look good once. Oh, and they just closed our Disney Store back in April, so they weren't just picking on Indianoplace.

all jesting aside, Nebo often puts his own disabilities aside so I can enjoy things. :lovestruc
and he is able to joke at his own expense. which means: ... post if you dare!!! he will joke at your expense, too!:rotfl2:

Diane that was a great post, you're really getting the hang of inserting comments in somebody elses post. But.... I'm sure the Steven Wright line has occured to more than one reader that tried to read your comments; "How will Smidgy know when she runs out of invisible ink?"

Wow I'm glad we can't go in the summer months (that is our terrorist season up here, Dh and I can't get away due to our jobs) we always go end of Feb, first part of March. WW, yeah, knee is ok, it looked worse than it actually was, and as far as the tour groups go, just stay away from the whole month of July and early August, first week and a half in December, (Pop Warner), and first week or so in February. (cold, cheerleader competiions, but for some reason, the cheerleaders didnt bother me so much. :lmao:

Hi TMW, we are glad to have you come out of the closet, and there is always a strong kinship it seems with people that share the accident prone gene. I'm sorry to hear about your sudden loss in the family, if this report has brought a few smiles to you during a difficult time, then writing it has been well worth it.

I am so enjoying you trip report.

Wow Shirley, I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to say. I can totally understand how you would feel about going back without your husband and I'm sad just thinking about what that would be like for you. i couldn't picture going without Smidgy.

But I hope that somewhere down the road you do end up opening another chapter in your life with someone else and instead of replacing your husband, which I'm sure cannot be done, you can just realize that your own book hasn't been finished yet and there are more chapters that need to be experienced with someone else, and especially along with your grandkids.

As for your accidents, you have been a busy girl haven't you?
Sounds like a bunch of us here should arrange and accident prone Dissers meet for a hayride at Fort Wilderness, just to see what might happen!

Welcome aboard Shirley

I like my Boo~ dunno where you could find her tho since my hubz found this one at a flea market for me. She got to go to WDW cause she was already dressed for the holiday ;)

Sorry, couldn't help myself:lmao:

I thought the song went "Nebo wabbles but he DOESN'T fall down...?? :rotfl:

Thank you. and Yes, trust me, you brought many smiles when i thought there wouldn't be any.

For the longest time I thought i was the only one with the accident prone gene, now coming to the disboards and reading your TR I know i am not alone!!!! There should be a group just for us, "Hi my name is Heather, aka TMW, and I trip on air." (response from the crowd: "Hi Heather!").

Whew. Finally caught up again. I was behind on yours and RigLee's TR's. I know a few choice words I can teach you in spanish (if you like) the next time you run into the soccer players. But given the condition of your foot (and now you're knee :lmao:) I don't think you would be able to run very fast from them. Especially since running is part of what they do best. Lets just say I know the words that will enable you to cuss at them in their own language. :rolleyes1

Thank you for your kind words. I am actually thinking about taking a couple of days and do a solo trip. That way I can have all the emotions without upsetting the grandkids and also remembering all the wonderful times we had.

As for your accidents, you have been a busy girl haven't you?
Sounds like a bunch of us here should arrange and accident prone Dissers meet for a hayride at Fort Wilderness, just to see what might happen!

Do you think Disney would have enough liability insurance? :lmao: I see myself finding the proverbial needle in the haystack because by gosh I would be the one to sit on it, or get a splinter from the wagon or better yet they would hit a bump and I would fall off the wagon. There I would be chasing the wagon and falling down and breaking what ever part of the body I haven't messed up yet. Oh and did I mention I was bit by a horse when I was little so it could happen again. :rotfl2:

Welcome aboard Shirley

Thank you.

I answered in black because I'm so forgetful, by the time I answered one thing I would have forgot the rest. Yes I am the one who stands up and then sits right back down because she forgot why she stood up in the first place.

Back in the room, I grabbed my car keys, and I'm sure you knew this was coming, went to the lot the check on the car.
I gave it the once around, everything seemed fine, then I pressed the unlock button on the fob, then the lock button to hear all the doors lock and make the "cheep" sound that says the alarm has set.
Then I pressed the lock button again, and cheeped it again.
Yep, now it's really locked!

Oh good, glad everything was okay!

(Ok, the reason that we still have the pool to ourselves is because there must be a big tournament going on at Wide World of Sports, and all the Brazilian soccer teams and the tour groups from there must be attending. The bunch we ran into either weren't due to play yet, or had already been elliminated, it was similar to when we were there when Pop Warner was there in December.

My dad would always give up his hours ar WWOS when the soccer tournaments were there. He said they are the rudest people!:headache: Obviously he was not wrong:sad2:

But at least there were no more confrontations.

:cool1:.

But the woman either couldn't, or pretended she couldn't speak English and turned her back on her.

HOW RUDE:mad:

But not as hard as I did.
With my right shin.

Oh no:sad2:

I couldn't have made more of an entrance if I had jumped up naked singing "Stayin Alive", "Stayin Alive".

OK, now I have this picture in my head:rotfl2:

With that I am going to say goodnight, but trust me, we are not yet even close to being done with the wonderfull soccer players.
neb

This does not sound goodpopcorn::

"Which witch is which?"
Sorry, couldn't help myself:lmao:

Uh huh. Try harder.:rotfl: Actually, we all need to try harder and not mention any of the Eagles work, before they come out of retirement again for ONE MORE REALLY LAST FINAL TOUR!

I thought the song went "Nebo wabbles but he DOESN'T fall down...?? :rotfl:

Rebecca, either you are older than I thought, or you have peeked at a previous trip report, cuz I have already used just that line in the past. I think it was some kind of bounce back up toys, but the tag line was "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down.

You see the problem with that though? Those programs all require 12 steps, anything more than 8 and I'm asking for it! Now, if they had a 12 stumble program......

I have never laughed so hard. Have to read all of your TR
The best, cannot be any better.

Well thank you very much, but don't read the others yet. Then you'll wind up as sick of me as I am. Actually every once in a while I will go back and look at the first one just to laugh and embarrasss my self again. It looks like it was written by a 6th grader, I had no idea what I was doing, not the well oiled, gramatically correct, dangling participle and typo free masterpiece that you are now reading. :happytv::lmao::rotfl2: :scared1:

Whew. Finally caught up again. I was behind on yours and RigLee's TR's. I know a few choice words I can teach you in spanish (if you like) the next time you run into the soccer players. T man if you go to the bathroom you have fallen behind on RigLee's report. As for swearing, I do know one short little phrase sure to get someone to swing at you, the first word sounds something like juva and I'll leave it at that.

I answered in black because I'm so forgetful, by the time I answered one thing I would have forgot the rest. Yes I am the one who stands up and then sits right back down because she forgot why she stood up in the first place.

Shirley, a solo trip sounds like an emotional time bomb waiting to go off, I'd try to get a girlfriend to join you, but solo is better then nothing I guess.

Oh good, glad everything was okay!

Oh yes, everything was fine with the car.

so far

My dad would always give up his hours ar WWOS when the soccer tournaments were there. He said they are the rudest people!:headache: Obviously he was not wrong:sad2:

I had to think about that sentance for a minute before I remembered, your folks work there.

This does not sound goodpopcorn::

Since I am not sure how many people read the call outs, I'm going to throw a little cookie there way right now for the ones that do.
A small spoiler alert.....

When Disney ends up comping you a night's stay when you are only staying there 2 nights, which they did, well,,,,,,,,,,,,,they don't do things like that unless they really feel they need to!

Ya tease...

No, I am not older than you thought... I may actually be younger than you thought... but either way-- I've seen the commercials before, and yes, they were for a toy-- I think made by playskool called Weebles... and that was indeed the song. However, I thought that line was funny. Seeing as how this is only the 2nd TR of yours I've read, it's possible you've made the same funny and I missed it. Either way... no, don't ask.. I'm not telling you how old I am.. it's inpolite to ask a lady such things!

The main reason I don't go in July since my daughter got out of school is not the crowds or the heat, it's the behavior of the people in the Brazilian tour groups. I have absolutely nothing against Brazilians, that's why I made sure to say behavior, and their behavior was horrible. Blocking doorways, cutting through lines, arrogance and the apparent belief that any resort rules were not for them was so aggrivating! I was so glad when Cindy (dd) graduated and we could go any time we wanted. Of course then she decided to become a teacher, so it was almost back to the summer, except, luckily she got a job with a school system that has a week's break every two months, so our choices have widened! Wow, quite a little vent there, but I do feel better, thanks!

We're staying at Pop for the first time soon and I am so looking forward to it. We needed 2 rooms, and being retired with limited funds, that put us in a value resort. I've stayed at All Stars Music and Sports. I was at Sports during the Pop Warner games last year and made it through that one just fine so I'm sure Pop will work fine as well.

Of course we all read the call out's, we hang on your every word!

I'm all caught up on your TR RigLee's and Tiggerbell's How did that happen ???

When I was a castmember the only thing I hated about working at WDW was July and August ! Back in our day and I'm sure it still holds true, they were required to listen to a lecture of some kind on our culture and what bahaviour was acceptable. It went in one ear and out the other. I always said the only things they needed to be taught was "wait your turn" and when we say "excuse me" It means "Get out of my way"
I am older now and more tolerant of other cultures and realize that to them it's just normal and not rude, except the blocking the sidewalk thing. I am however not tolerant enough to go to WDW in July or August. Sorry you guys didn't have that little piece of information.

:rotfl2: at the mental picture of your tray of food debris flying all over the place. Yeah I'm laughing at your expense I know you'd return the favor.
Lynn
