From Newstletter: Bear Rug Contest!!!!!!!!!

Cute or boot?
Should the Bear Rug have a permanent home in VMK, or should it disappear, never to be seen again? You tell us.

Between Saturday December 31 and Monday January 2, stop by specially-labeled staff rooms throughout VMK to see the Bear Rug and decide for yourself. Then, stop by the Emporium and check out the Specials. If you want to Vote, buy the shirt that matches your sentiments: Bear Rug - CUTE or Bear Rug - BOOT

Want to campaign for your point of view? Here are some suggested activities:

Wear your shirt proudly all weekend.
Step into the spotlight on the stage of the Mark Twain Riverboat and proclaim your position.
Create a debate room and invite Players to join the discussion.
Stand in the middle of the Frontierland Hub (or any other public space in VMK) and discuss the topic with others.


The shirt sales will be tallied after closing on Monday, and the results announced in the next Newsletter. If the Cute vote wins, the Bear Rug will go on sale next week. If the Boot vote wins, the Bear Rug goes into permanent hibernation.

Yes it's a virtual bear rug! No bears were harmed in the makin of them so i say we all say yes! I'm hoping the t-shirt will be something i already have like the last voting event we did! It's only 25 flippin credits! I wonder if ppl complained about it or something? Sounds interesting, no?

I actually made a debate room! The debates go mostly like this:

People FOR the rug: No bears were actually hurt. It's nice that VMK would come up with a rug, we should be happy that they are doing something new.

People AGAINST the rug: Bears are nice. Why do they hurt them making the rug? That is just wrong. (blah, blah, blah)

The whole thing is kind of weird. If you get a chance and I haven't been disconnected, look for my room, it's Dizzy Bear Debate Room. (They still don't have Mulan in their dictionary.)

I'm "for" the bear rug, so after the person gives a speech, they get to spin the generator and if they get a "for" they get a prize. Come visit me sometime

Come on peeps, this is a VIRTUAL bear rug! Yavn did not go out into the woods, kill a bear with his own hands, drag it back to VMK and skin it so that we may all have a CUTE bear rug!

I'm just so glad it is NOT a Pooh bear rug! That would make me really sad!
I think the whole idea is silly, considering those with 100,000 credits could sway the voting significantly if they so chose (not that they would want a huge stock of silly voting shirts!)
But I will be buying a yes vote, just so we have new things to purchase again!
I very much look forward to hearing Moussedudes pro & con debate...it should be good reading thats for sure!

Actually it's not a faux bear, or faux fur, it's pixel paint.

Yavn would never harm bears! Stephen Colbert from the Daily show might....but never Yavn!

I actually think it would only be 500 credits. Maybe 700 or something but it doesn't seem big enough to be 1000 credits. I guess we shall see! Oh yes and 4 more votes for CUTE....me and my mules will be showing off our tees!
