Today was our first day at Epcot. I was not thrilled about going on an EE day, but it just worked out that way. Then we discover they are forecasting heavy rain for the morning, with clearing in the afternoon. Not good for Epcot, but glad to hear it would clear out as we are going to MNSSHP tonight. We want to get a ride on Test Track before it rains, so we all scarf a pop tart and head straight over to Epcot about 8:15, pretty early for us. I grab the rain ponchos that we brought back from our 2001 trip, and hook the bag on my fanny pack. Wow, they are kinda heavy.
We get to Test Track and grab fastpasses, then hit the single riders line. It says 15 minutes, HA, there is NO line at all. Literally. We go in the pre-show room with the 4 of us, and 2 other people. The kids get sent to the same car and dh and I in two other cars. It starts to rain, right as I round the 64.8 mph sign. We skip the ponchos since we are just going as far as Mission Space. The boys go to ride, and Alexa and I go inside so she can play in the playground inside. I am bored stiff by the time the boys are done. Finally they come out and we let Matthew play for a couple minutes and then we go back to do Test Track again. I am hoping its not raining yet, but I have been seeing tons of people buying ponchos. As it turns out, its dry at the moment and the 4 of us share a car for a change.
The kids choose Innoventions next, and decide to save Ellens Energy Adventure for another day. They like the video games and the Toon Tag game, and the games with the footpads you play. I did the DDR game with Alexa, and got us through all 3 levels. That is not easy, we failed miserable on our last trip. Its hard work!!! I am now starving so we go the the Land for Lunch. We love eating lunch here, because my extremely picky daughter can get one of her favorite foods, the baked potato. We also always grab a fastpass for The Land ride before we eat. This time the fastpass return time is an hour away, we havent had to wait that long before. The standby line is 45 minutes. I love this ride, but I would NEVER wait that long. We eat our lunch and we have to kill another 10 minutes or so before we can finally ride. We wander to wait the last few minutes by the fastpass entrance. The guy lets us go in early. We still had to wait a few minutes to get on a boat once we are in. I guess October is really more crowded than early December.
After we finish we go to see Figment. My dd is suddenly nuts for him. This is the shortest line I think Ive ever seen. There is not even anyone in the building where you enter. It was kinda creepy. It was also freezing. Dh and I thought it was almost hard to enjoy the ride because we were so cold. When we get off we found all the people, they were using the photo stations LOL. We play at the fountains for a few minutes and hit another dd request, Ice Station cool. There was no snow in the hallways this time for some reason. We only tasted 1 or 2 this time and left. I guess she was not so interested after all. Now its my turn, Mouse Gears!!!!!!!!!! If I dont go the downtown Disney, this is shopping heaven. I always spend too long in here, but I tried to keep it short LOL. I bought myself a really cute red Mickey jacket, and a few other items for everyone. Not too much damage (at least compared to last years trip to World of Disney LOL).
After my room charge recovers from the purchase, we head back to the hotel to rest. We skip the pool today, as we only have an hour and a half or so, not enough time to swim then put costumes on. Its still quite hot today too, so I thought some down time before the party would be a good idea, since well be out late.
