Hi there! Welcome to my very first trip report!

My family & I just got off the Disney Fantasy and had the most wonderful time. I found the disboards about 9 months ago when I first booked my cruise and I soon realized what a great place this was for people to keep their trip memories alive and vibrant. You have all provided a wealth of information and kept me so excited about my cruise for those extremellllllly long 9 months, and for that I cannot thank you enough. So here I am, hopefully you will come along as I share our journey through the Western Caribbean!

My name is Crissy, wifey to one and mommy to two. I'm a lover of photography, people, food, travel, & adventure. I'm known to have fun and I try to make sure everyone around me is having fun too! I brought along the man who always keeps us laughing, my hubby Mike, who also is also a lover of food, adventure, movies, and beer. He also happens to be a huge sports fan (go Cowboys!!!)

And along for their very first cruise are our little princesses, Kylie & Kennedy. Kylie is 6 and is obsessed with Disney Princesses, in particular, Queen Elsa. She loves horseback riding, dancing and loves all animals, she is goofy and fun and brings so much joy to everyone around her. And then there's Kennedy, our newest addition, she's 7 months old and is always smiling. She is one of the happiest, most easy going babies I have ever been around. We are so lucky they are in our family!

Oh and did I mention that we are from a city that knows how to have fun, a city called LAS VEGAS, maybe you've heard of it?? :rotfl2:

See you all soon!

Travel Plans

Day 1: Las Vegas to Orlando
Day 2: Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure
Day 3: All Aboard the Fantasy
Day 4: At Sea
Day 5: Cozumel
Day 6: Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Day 7: Falmouth, Jamaica
Day 8: At Sea
Day 9: Castaway Cay
Day 10: Heading home

We chose a 6am flight out of Vegas in hopes that the little ones would sleep. That didn't go quite as planned, but then again what does?!
When the alarm went off at 3am I jumped out of bed. I don't know if you all feel the same but I simply cannot sleep the night before a vacation!

:jumping1:

I was thankful that we packed everything we could the night before, the only thing left to do was get our dog, Daisy's stuff together because she was going to Grandma's for the week! (Little did we know that she would gain a full 5 pounds while on vacation...what happens at Grandma's house stays at Grandma's house even applies to the dog LOL)

When we got to the airport we didn't have to wait long for boarding, since we have small children we got to join the family boarding line & we pretty much walked on the plane. 5.5 hours later we landed in ORLANDO! The plane ride was rather painless, Kennedy slept quite a bit since it fell in the middle of her morning nap routine, and when Kylie wasn't staring out the window she was doing one of the activities that I put together for her. In her travel bag I packed a new notebook, stickers, crayons, a new toy, and some great Disney coloring/activity pages that I printed off the internet & last but not least...the iPad. (Thank you Southwest for the free WiFi!)

After reading quite a few reviews we went with Happy Limo for our transportation. When I turned on my cell I already had a text message from our driver who was waiting for us in baggage claim! Pretty great service! The ride to Cabana Bay Beach Resort was about 35min and check in was a breeze. It felt like we stepped back in time, the resort was 50's and 60's era complete with cool classic cars and retro signs all around the hotel.
We booked a standard room, which was nice for a family with children.

Since the sun was still shining and the weather was warm we just couldn't stay in the room, we decided to hit the pool.

And grab a yummy drink from the bar.
Hubs got a beer & I got the Hideaway Colada, this was DELICIOUS guys!

The pool was warm and had a cascading entrance which was nice for the little ones. I looked up to see that they also had 2 life guards on duty watching the pools, I loved this. There was a large pool in the middle, a sand box with toys to the left, and a large jacuzzi tub which was all surrounded by a lazy river. There was even music playing in the background, I often was seen singing along to the songs... :ssst: Overall we had a very fun and relaxing time, it finally felt like we were on vacation.

As the sun was starting to go down we decided to go back to the room and get ready for dinner. They informed me at check in that the resort offers a free tram to Universal Citywalk so we decided to have dinner there. And thats when we discovered The CowFish.

What is a CowFish you might ask?

Stay tuned to find out....

That's a really cool resort! Love the throwback theme...and the VO5 shampoo! I totally remember using that when i was younger. Sounds like a great start to your vacation! Your drink looks yummy! Cowfish...sounds like a surf and turf kinda place! But it sounds good! Looking forward to more!

Day 1 : Part 2

We didn't have to wait at all for the tram, in fact they seemed to have two or three trams running constantly. The baby was quite happy that she didn't have to sit in her car seat.

The wait for a table at The CowFish was 45mins so we decided to walk around a bit...

Seeing a few of the rides poking over the gates made us so excited to be headed to the parks in the morning!

Before long we received a text stating that our table was ready.

The Cowfish seemed like the popular spot to be, every seat in the house was full. We were seated at a booth inside overlooking the CityWalk. Our appetizer and drinks came out rather quickly. Mike had whisky on the rocks with a garnish of black cherries and candied bacon and I had the Ruby Panther. Both were very good.

& Parmesan Bacon Truffle Fries. Oh. My. Word.
:earseek:

Kylie ordered a kids bento box complete with a rice krispy treat sushi. How cute is that?!

We also enjoyed The Rainbow Roll & the adult Bento Box, both were delicious!

With our bellies full we decided it was time to head back to the hotel and rest up for tomorrow.

To be continued...
