I too would like to know where to watch Hallowishes from! We were in front of the castle, up pretty close and couldn't see much more than you did. We watched the Christmas fireworks from the same spot in Dec. and it was a perfect spot so I was confused. The colors from the HM and the castle were really cool!

Good luck to Nick's team today!:thumbsup2
Sorry this is a little after the fact of the question I just found this TR today.... I am addicted I started reading it at work on my blackberrry! I have been to MNSSHP twice and my DH and I were in front of where main street ended if I remember correct we had to fight a little bit with some trees in the way but it was an awsome view! When we took my DS back the following year we stood in almost the same area.... I think you really have to see the front of the castle they play with shadows and what not on the front but I think if we would have been closer it would not have been as cool. And by far my favorite soundtrack for fireworks.... but I love Halloween. Best parade also and I am not a big parade person! I HIGHLY recomend anyone that has not gone to try to go end of September to get the first weekend of F&W and MNSSHP my sister and I got to ride SM back to back they just let us stay on the log it is not busy at all for MNSSHP or any park that time of year. Counting down to 2010!

Hey ME...

Just remembered...(I'm so behind on life in general right now...:lmao:)...

planning on decorating the house for the holidays this weekend...(I have a seminar thing on Sat morning but when I come home...ho ho ho...)

Anyhow...I had forgotten we had purchased the Lincoln Log Wilderness Lodge...:lmao:...we usually build it for the holidays and leave it up and then take it down in January...it makes you smile...I'll post a picture for you...:goodvibes

(hmmm...I kind of started with a "winterwonderland" theme (since I'm a snow man freak) but Disney stuff has crept in...the LL WL, we have a Disney train around the tree and a couple of ornaments...and now I see the stocking are on sale at the Disney store...m.u.s.t. r.e.s.i.s.t. I am a grown up and have will power...:rotfl2:

Hi Jaimiebear5 and Welcome!!!!!! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: Thanks for posting and I am glad you are enjoying the TR.

Normally I would go to Main St., but I had a little "situation" last year during MMVCP where, in my exuberence to get pics I accidently separated a mom and her kids. Then in June I got in front of someone on the train platform while I was trying to change the batteries in my camera. This year I decided I would not take the chance of blocking someone else's view, so that's the reason I stayed put. I knew if I tried to move I would, inevitably, get in someone's way.

I agree with you that MNSSHP is the best! I absolutely loved it and I loved how vacant the rides are. It's the best!!!!!!

Well, we finally made it. Made it to day 5, the final day. We woke up in a reasonable time and finished the packing that we started the night before. We decided to go for a quick run. It was to be our last day of really warm weather for a really long time. As I sit here watching the snow fall outside our window, its hard to believe that it was just a few months ago.

So off we went, for our last run around the lake and the buildings of POP century. Our boarding passes had been printed the night before. We were down to our last couple bottles of water, our last TS credits, and about 6 snack credits. That's one thing about me, I am one of those people who likes to use up every last bit of the dining plan. We got a few extra drinks and filled our mugs one last time.

We were off......Or where we?????? Psych - of course we were. No last minute surpises or drama here. The original plan was MK, LTL lunch, and a possible DIS meet with C (aka "too excited to sleep"). Today was her arrival day and she had an ADR at the plaza. The only thing was, I had tried to text C twice and had not heard back from her. I wasn't feeling too optomistic about our DIS meet that morning. There was also a part of me that wanted to hit the World Showcase one more time, just to see if they had opened any of the food and wine kiosks early.

So I made a suggestion to Denny. I said, "Why don't we drive to Epcot. Then we can go there OR take the monorail to MK". Denny was OK with that. I forgot to mention that it was also early EMH at MK and, not surprisingly, we had missed the 8am opening. I'm not a big fan of early EMH, but that's probably because I can't get it together quick enough in the morning to get there.

When we got to Epcot it was about 8:45 and people were going through the turnstyles. But when we got to the turnstyles (yes - we almost went in), the crowds looked heavy. It was probably just my imagination, but the impression of a busy Epcot was enough for me to look at Denny and say, "Oh, let's just go to MK".

So off we went. Denny had never taken the monorail to MK, so he was looking forward to seeing the sights. Except, as you probably know, there aren't many sights to see between Epcot and MK. So we just sat back and enjoyed the quick ride and the comfortable AC.

Here's a quick picture I took as we were leaving Epcot to board the monorail...

When we got to the TTC we had an important decision to make. Monorail or boat? It was actually a pretty easy decision. I hadn't been on the ferry since our very first trip to Disney in 2002. I have a pre digital picture of Nicholas, who was not quite 7, standing on the upper deck of the ferry. Boy does that being back memories. So we hurried to the ferry and got on just moments before departure.

The ferry (well, not our ferry, but A ferry)......

Once we arrived in the park, we took the train back to Frontierland and grabbed FP's for Splash Mtn. Much to my surprise, there was no line for splash mtn, so we got right on. I actually tried to take a few pictures right before we loaded the boat.

I'm not sure why, but Denny got a littl wiggy when we first got on. He said, "I really don't feel like getting wet". And I said, "ohhhhh - we aren't going to get wet. Get the camera out to take some pics".

Well, let's just say that just as I got the camera out, I got whoomped in the back with that perfectly timed fountain of water. You know the one I talking about. The giant geyser that is timed to look like it is created by the boats going down the "big one". My shirt was soaked and my hair was soaked. I immediately thought of Wigd's infamous shower cap and wished I had one just like it. So, after our near drowning, we didn't take too many pics, cause even the camera got a tad wet. But here's the few we managed.....

Still feeling pretty wet at the end of the ride, we decided to pass up BTM and head back to the interior of the park. Then a funny thing happened. I started feeling a little bit sick to my stomach. I'm not sure why.....was is the hot sun? More than likely it was the wine I had the night before. But it was a weird, unexpected feeling and I asked Denny if we could go over to Peco's Bill to sit for a moment. I thought I might be dehydrated, so I grabbed a big swig of water. Just then I received a text from one of my coworkers. It said, "Your cleaning lady wants to know if its OK to clean"

HOLY CRAP! I forgot to cancel my cleaning lady. She only comes twice a month and I had meant to cancel her at the beginning of the week, but I completely forgot. uggghhhhhh! So I desperately tried to reach her and she was already at my house. I usually do a made clean up before she comes and I was worried that the house was a disaster. She siad it wasn't too horrible, and she was already there, so I told her to do her best.

Oh well - I hate when I screw up. But no harm, no foul. My nausea cleared and we made our plans for the rest of the morning.

Up next......a trip to the treehouse, haunted mansion, hall of presidents, and a much anticipated DIS meet.

Awwww...well I'm behind too...how did I miss this Mary Ellen LOL!!! Loved your update! I'm so glad you guys had such a great meal at Artist Point! I hope to visit WL someday and check out the resort. Leslie talks very very fondly about it!

Don't feel bad. I almost missed your post. Good thing I scrolled backwards and say it. Geesh! Our meal was really yummy and it was such a perfect evening. I look forward to eating there again in the future. As far as the WL - I can't wait to stay there! :woohoo:

You know it's always that first mega splash that gets me....
Next time you might want to put on a rain bonnet, shower cap, or poncho.....
:lmao:

aack! I missed a whole update! I can't beleive it! Between turkey day and our getaway I am SO behind on TR's! Not to mention life, holidays and works.

excuses excuses!

Isn't it funny? While a meal might be the most amazing ever, it really is the WHOLE experience that stays with you. What a lovely lovely night at AP an you summed it up beautifully. I love the fact that you just went with your guy on the Epcot crowds and hopped the monorail and then the ferry.

Spontaneity, and the ability to actually embrace it, is a wonderful thing.

Jeff is in love with WL. I like it but...it feels just like home lol! Which, while a good thing and very comfortable, doesn't feel very "away" to me.

Still, I'm sure we will stay there someday!

I am totally going to find a cut shower cap for next trip. That's the first time I ever got that much of a dousing. It was pretty painless, because it was 90 degrees out, but I felt like my hair was dirty for the rest of the day.

I feel the same way. Ever since the state soccer tournament I have gotten impossibly behind on everyone's TR (including my own). Heck, my last update was 11/25 and now 12/5! Yikes! :scared1: And I felt like I was forcing myself to do this last update. Now that its done, I have my momentum back. In fact, I tried to DIS last night, but the boards were down. So now I'm sneaking in a quick hit before I start getting ready for church.

That's exactly right. It wasn't one individual thing, it was the sum of all the little touches in customer service, the food, the wine, the extras, the ambiance, that made it such a perfect evening. I love that they gave us the menu to take home. I take a peak at it from time to time.

I love the fact that you just went with your guy on the Epcot crowds and hopped the monorail and then the ferry.

I'm glad we did that, too. It really was pleasant and not too time consuming. Pluse, as you will see, we got to ride back with C.

Jeff is in love with WL. I like it but...it feels just like home lol! Which, while a good thing and very comfortable, doesn't feel very "away" to me.

I can understand that. I have always been a fan of the mountains and skiing, but I can't say I have ever stayed anywhere that resembles the WL. A few years ago (2005), before DVC, I was tempted to stay there. But I just couldn't justify the extra $1000 for the trip. So I forced myself to be happy with my choice to stay at CBR, which was an excellent trip, by the way. But I guess I just never got the WL out of my system.

I love the pics from your ferry ride! Glad your nausea cleared up quickly and you could enjoy your morning!

I really should be going over my music one more time, but I can't seem to get the motivation. So, I think I'll post about the trip that almost was. Yes - that's right - I almost planned an extra trip this year. One in late January of 2010.

I'm not sure if you remember, but I have a coworker who owns many DVC points. She had a reservation for this week (infact, starting today) at SSR. She decided she did not have the $$$$$ for the trip and tried to rent the reservation. No go! That's hard for me to believe because it seems like a great week to go.

Anyway - she has to use these points by the end of January. 140 points to be exact. I got this great idea and decided to see if the soccer moms wanted to go in January. We could have gotten a 2BR at SSR for 150 points and my friend was going to charge us a shockingly low price of $7.5 a point. It would have been $375 per person for the three of us for 5 nights. Personally, I think that's a steal.

So when my friends seemed interested I shot them an email to break out the costs:

$375 resort
$280 ticket
$155 flight
$200 dining plan

Well - once I had the $ part all out in the open like that, they got cold feet. My one friend said she would rather designate that $ to her summer vacation. I explained that we could make the trip less expensive by (1) adding another person (which I really didn't want to do) (2) purchasing non park hoppers (I already have an AP so doesn't matter to me) (3) doing the quick service dining plan (4) praying for a better flight price, although $155 is probably the best we would get.(5) have a garage sale (kind of late in the year for that)

Anyway - my friends know that I had offered to take them next year on points, so I guess that crushed the incentive to come up with the $. I had to tell my coworker that we were going to pass.

Right now my coworker has a 1 BR booked at the WL from 1/17 to the 23rd. She is working with someone on the boards, so I hope she gets this settled. It's been alot of work for her. I'm sure she is trying to get a slightly higher dollar per point (because my price was rock bottom).

I am a little disappointed that my friends did not appreciate what a great deal this was. I won't be able to cough up the points for a 2BR next spring. My plan is for 2 studios at OKW. And if my friends want to go in the fall, we will have to plan for free dining and probably stay value, or no more than moderate, to undercut that price I listed above.

So that's my story - the trip that almost was!!!!!

Mary Ellen, I would have gone with you in a heart beat. Well you know any one of your DIS friends would have jumped at that offer!

Oh I feel your pain! I did the same thing with 2 different groups trying to put together a girls only food and wine trip, either with my gourmet club or my mom, sisters and SIL.

Couple of takers but not enough to make it pencil and it was such a great deal!

I'd love to run away in Jan....though I can't afford it either lol.

Still, it is so painful to see the deal that got away...........

I love the pics from your ferry ride! Glad your nausea cleared up quickly and you could enjoy your morning!

Thanks Dawn. My nausea was gone very quickly. I only remembered it because it seemed so out of character. It came on really suddenly and then was gone....puff! Weird! :confused3

That reminds me - I have to go look at your pics from your last update. I think I read it at work. Better get Crackin'!

Mary Ellen, I would have gone with you in a heart beat. Well you know any one of your DIS friends would have jumped at that offer!

Well Wigd - now that I know, that I am pm'ing you the second another good deal comes along. I thought about soliticing Dis'ers, but I had to let her know it a short period of time and I wasn't able to Dis much while all this negotiating was going on. I was away with one of the soccer moms last week and that's when we decided just to forget it until neck year.

Is Shocker OK with you going without him? Denny told me I could go, but he said it was with one condition - after I went in Jan and then May (with him) he wanted me to take a year hiatus. Yeah right!!!!!!

I would have felt a little selfish if we had gone, but I have been getting a bit of extra money lately from some recent singing jobs, so I probably could have justified it! Plus my mom is giving me some cash for Christmas, so that would help. I would basically need to decide - new Cannon camera or trip to Disney world.

Anyway - its a non issue. I will check with my friend tomorrow, but I'm hoping she got a taker.

Mytake is you gotta find a couple people who really love it and really get it....and then you've got a trip!

Oh, MEK! I am so bummed. You would have been there when Jen and I are going! :headache:

Seriously???? I was JUST going over to your TR to see what your dates where, because now that I posted about my "trip that almost was", I have been bitten by the worst Disney bug and I really want to go in January. I am heading over to your TR now........

Last day blues...:sad1:

I am a little disappointed that my friends did not appreciate what a great deal this was.

 They are clueless! I would have been all over that!

Well Wigd - now that I know, that I am pm'ing you the second another good deal comes along.

Pretty please, can you add me to the PM list, too??? I'm a really quiet, tidy roommate! :littleangel:
