From GF to HDD

SO on our first night I've decided to do Hoop Dee Doo. We fly in at 10:30 a.m., plan on checking into GF and then hitting MK for a few hours.

What time should I plan on leaving the GF to make the 715 show? Am I being realistic in planning this the first night? Thought it would be a FUN way to kick off our trip

I'd give yourself an hour to get from GF to HDD. I would also reconsider doing it on the first night.

Last time we went to Disney we booked the Luau for the first night thinking it would be a great start to the trip - we would fly in, take our time getting settled into the WL and then head to the Poly for dinner.

Well of course when we got there it was way too tempting to go to the Magic Kingdom - just for a little bit . We get into MK and went on a couple of rides and then thought it was time to start leaving, but we timed it so bad because the parade was beginning so we had to fight our way out of the park and then make our way to the Poly. By the time we got to the Poly and settled for dinner we were all exhausted from such a long day. We didn't even stay for the whole show because we were all miserable.

We vowed never again to make a big show reservation on our first night.

If leaving from the GF, allow an hour to take one of the launches from GF to MK, then transfer to launch from MK to FW. You will be let out at the Marina which is just a few hundred yards to the HDDR. This gives you plenty of time to allow for full boats or any unforeseen delays and gets you there in time to check in.

You could drive if you have a car, but you have to go to the main parking lot at FW way at the front and bus to the HDDR, then reverse this to get back. Not ideal.

To get back to the GF, walk out of HDDR and turn right, you will see MANY buses lined up, one or more of which will take you directly back to GF.

Alternate route, take the bus from GF to MK, then the launch from MK to FW.

Almost all point to point Disney transport, you allow about an hour.
