From Europe to Africa in America - A Sisters' Expedition

I really loved this chapter! I so enjoyed seeing all the empty park shots- you 2 must have been really enjoying having the whole place practically to yourselves! What a treat!

I think Mary might have gotten one of those buttermethfingeramphetamine cakes too, but I'll have to go back and check. That picture was pretty dang funny, Katharina!! :lmao: (whom I haven't see post in a long, long time!)

That was quite the rain you were getting. I'm very impressed you were some of the very first ones on TSM even with that sort of downpour!! :worship: Great job in your mad dash to fun!

Your picture with sully and mikey is so cute!! I love how you got paired off! :thumbsup2

Excellent work getting to TSM at rope drop. Your DIS experience obviously served you well.

Amazing to see the pictures of a nearly empty park. I think if you gave me the choice of being dry and dealing with crowds or soaked and an empty park, I'd go with soaked!

Hello Magdalene! I'm so far behind...but I wanted to drop you a big congratulations on your DVC!! :cool1: How exciting!! I love your plan of catching MNSSHP *and* MVMCP! We were there 10/26-10/31 this year and had a blast. We had record breaking heat days (heat index was 105) so that made it more difficult but we still had a great time.

I'm thinking about you being so close to the Christkindlesmarkt and how I'd love to pop over! :lovestruc

Heather

CONGRATULATIONS on being a DVC owner!!! Are you waitlisted for a standard view? We couldn't get standard in September this past year, the waitlist never came through. But, we were quite happy with the "garden view" which turned out to be partial Boardwalk! :goodvibes I haven't recently looked to see if our Standard waitlist for Feb/March has come through....

I loved your Munich update! All the beautiful buildings and the history bits had me dreaming. Plus your coffee looked delish!

Great WDW updates too - sorry to hear about all the rain, but sounds like you two didn't mind at all. That Butterfinger cupcake is tasty, but I agree with you-it's a lot! Joe, Henry and I shared one back in December and still ended up throwing part of it away. Katharina, the picture of you with the chips and your comment below it made me laugh out loud! Have you seen the "Worst Family Self Portrait EVER" picture I put on my recent update? Henry has the same look as you!:goodvibes

YAY!! A great big cupcake for a second breakfast- dining like champs!:thumbsup2

I'm here, but I really barely manage to keep up with reading, too many things happening right no. Work is really busy with lots of things that have to happen before Christmas. My boss was sick last week and this week got stuck in Frankfurt yesterday because of snow everywhere. So today I spent my time finding alternative flights or train connections for him, while calming him down on the phone and doing all the stuff he couldn't do, because he was not at the office. Love those days. This weekend I'll spent volunteering again, which I have to prepare in the evenings. I even bought all the stuff for baking four different Christmas cookies, but managed only one recipe so far. And don't let me get started what there is still to do in the new flat. I'm sorry that I don't manage to post so often, but let me assure you that reading along on all the thready is my special treat every day!

And there is still a Dirndl picture I promised you all...

Yes, I saw your pictures absolutely hilarious! Maybe it is some kind of Disney virus...

I"m so glad it wasn't something I said. :lmao: I know just how you feel, Katharina!! It's been crazy busy here too. I'm afraid with our impending move next month things may go very far downhill in the posting department.

I am glad I have time today to Dis !!! I had Our Management Christmas Party today !!I made Sausage Rolls instead of my Sherry Trifle Cuz someone told me to many desserts !! All I heard was where;s the Trifle !!:rotfl2:Anyway we had a real feast as always !!! We had a Gift exchange for which we each brought a gift that was for either male or female as we did not pick names !!It was a lot of fun !!I got a gift certificate to a Local Supermarket which is MUCH appreciated !! I gave a gift of a Dozen Wine glasses and a gift card to a Liquor store ! The Gal who got it kept saying she got the best gift of all !!So I was very happy!! So it was a good day !!:cloud9::cloud9:

Great job staying toward the front during your TSM dash. :thumbsup2

I just read about the Butterfinger cupcake for the first time about a week ago. It looks completely over-the-top, ridiculously huge, way too sweet, and therefore I must try it!

I love your umbrella pictures, with actual umbrellas.

WOW Katharina you do have a lot going on! We still want to see the Dirndl! :rotfl:

I loved the pictures the one of you with the sad expression under the umbrella and the chip picture! :rotfl: It had me laughing out loud. Does Magdalene let you see what pictures she's posting of you?

Magdalene,

Loved the update and all the pictures. Sounds like you didn't let a little rain get in the way of your touring. Days like that make for nice low crowds in the parks. ;)

Thank you again for you help with the other matter I emailed you about yesterday. :)

Have a wonderful weekend. I was looking at the calendar and Christmas is 2 weeks away! :scared1: I got to get a move on with shopping, cookies ect.... Time has really flown by!

I am LOVING your TR!:goodvibes I found it last night and have read all of the updates. My family and I are going nearly the exact same time this January. I was etremely pleased to see how low the crowds were from your pictures but I can certainly do without the rain! I hope that trend didn't continue for you on your trip! The cold I can do without as well.

You and your sister look very sweet! I would love to take a sister trip with mine but alas, she does not share my love of Disney. Isn't that awful? Anyhow, I am thoroughly enjoying reading all the updates here and appreciate your side notes on German pronunciations/culture.

Looking forward to the rest! Are you planning another trip?

Hi everyone, sorry for no replies... I have been home with a bad cough and headache the last two days. While reading the DIS is a lovely distraction, I am not up to serious posting. Will reply properly to everyone soon (this includes all the other discussions I have with people on other threads about Christmas and such), I hope I will feel better tomorrow!

Magdalene, take care of yourself and get better! We'll all still be here when you feel up to joining us again! Hope you are feeling super duper soon!!! :flower3:

Get some rest.

I hope you feel better soon.

I sure hope you're feeling 100% very soon, Magdalene!! NOT fun to be sick during a what should be festive time of year! I imagine Nuremberg is all decked out, and very beautiful right now! Post a picture, when you're feeling better!
