Just a brief general update - I hope to get the next installment of the TR posted later today! I really want to finish the TR by the end of February and get started on a Pre-Trip-Report for the October/November trip. That will then also include a mini TR for the trip Katharina and I have planned in March to Disneyland Paris!
That's next month already!!
Regarding Disneyland Paris: Thank you very much to everyone who posted their opinion on choice of hotel. We decided to stay with our original choice, the Newport Bay Club!
The one issue I had with it: breakfast has also been made a bit easier now since we will be able to have at least a snack in the park for free!!
DLP has something called the "Shareholders Club". If you own shares in the company which owns DLP, the Euro Disney Company (of which the biggest shareholder still is the Walt Disney Company), which is a French share company, you can become a member of this club. Members receive several perks, discounts on park tickets and hotels (however, the discount we got was cheaper, so we won't use these), discounts at table service restaurants
thumbsup2) and most importantly: access to Salon Mickey. This is a lounge which can be entered from just outside the DLP park and it offers beverages and croissants in the morning. It even has its own private entrance into the park. So if we want an early start at the park and not want to avoid breakfast crowds, we will just go there. Katharina as a member is allowed to bring a few guests with her. Thanks to DISboards we knew about it and could get it all set up in time!
We also booked a private shuttle (from a recommendation on the DLP DISboard) to take us from the airport to DLP and back! They will pick us up at our arrival terminals (Katharina arrives at a different terminal than me and our friend), so we don't have to worry abot where to meet in the airport and get to the bus or train stop. CDG is a hge airport and I always find it a bit difficult to navigate.
Oh, and the most important thing today:
