From Bride to Bridapotamus, 6 Days of Magical Deluxe Dining with the Hubs! Day 5* 8/4

Yeah I have readers!!!! Hello everyone, thanks for joining in! I am also doing a trip report so bare with me for those of you that are following both there might be a little bit of overlap.

Day 1

I booked DH and I a really early flight for that day so we could get the longest Disney experience possible! So we left at 6:45 the morning, lol. We arrived to our hotel at POFQ at around 1:00 pm, which for those that don't know is an amazingly themed resort and they have an exclusive dish to their resort. It's a flaky little pastry called a Beignet! Everyone raves about these on the boards so I had to try some. Once we got settle we headed down to our resort food court and ordered a couple with our snack credits.

SAM_0172-1.jpg

Yummy, airy, flaky, goodness is all I can say! They were sweet, but not too sweet. The pasty tastes like a warm fresh hollow doughnut with powered sugar all over it. I loved, loved, loved this. DH enjoyed his, but he is not a sweets guy. I gave mine a 2.5 DH's rating a 2. You all have got to try these they are amazing I even ordered them two more times before we left!

After the yummy beignets we headed out to DTD, because we were starving for some sandwiches. We headed out by ferry and when we arrived we headed straight to Earl of Sandwich

SAM_0198.jpg

We had never been and they had a huge selection of sandwiches so we had to ask a CM for a little guidence.

SAM_0199.jpg

We were informed that with our plan we got a sandwich, a drink, and a side. It could be either a dessert for side item so we began to scan the lot,
SAM_0200.jpg

For my meal I got the Original with a chocolate brownie. It's a roast beef sandwich with horseradish sauce.
SAM_0202.jpg

SAM_0203.jpg

Scott ordered the Hawaiian with the macaroni salad. The sandwich was chicken and BBQ sauce and bunch other stuff I forgot to write down, sorry :)

SAM_0201.jpg

We both felt like for a quick service restaurant it was really well done. The CM's were awesome and made sure to let us know what was on our dining plan and how we could use our credits. The food came out really quickly. I really liked mine a lot. It had a heavy roast beef taste and I love roast beef. The one thing I didn't like about mine was the horseradish sauce. It was really strong. I normally love it, but it had a weird after taste. Scott enjoyed his sandwich, but he felt there wasn't enough BBQ sauce on it. My brownie was really good, but it was really rich and the cream in the middle was a bit strong. Scott didn't really enjoy his macaroni salad very much. He said it was a bit bland. Overall we both gave our meal and service a 2.

We shopped a bit and eventually ended up at Ghirradelli's. We hadn't been there before and it was a non snack option so we had to pay out of pocket, but it was worth it. We got the Very Berry Sundae and split it.

SAM_0214.jpg

This was amazing! We both loved it. It had many different kinds of berry favors in it and chocolate covered blueberries on top yum. We both gave it a 2.5

Once we left DTD we went back to our hotel and took a nap. After the nap we got dressed in some fancier clothes and headed off to the Polynesian Resort for our 'Ohana ressie. I was super excited about this one as well because every gives this place major kudos. We took the bus to MK and took the monorail to Poly.

Once we got inside it was really easy to navigate because of the great signs they had. The Poly is beautiful we are really thinking about staying there sometime. After we explored the resort a bit it was time for our ressie.

SAM_0268.jpg

Now I have heard that some people have had problems being seated at a descent time here, but we didn't have a problem with this. We checked in and were seated within 10 mins. I requested a fireworks viewing table and we got it. As soon as we said down we were quickly greeted by our "cousin" who explained to us the importance of family :) I new exactly what drink order to order because of all the meticulous research I did prior to the trip, haha! With our free drinks we both ordered the pomegranate lemonade.

SAM_0275.jpg

This my fellow cousins was absolutely wonderful. Very good stuff and we found out later they had it at our resort as well. We also ordered some mix drinks as well Scott got the blue glowtini because he wanted the cool light he said, haha!

SAM_0289.jpg

I got the pina colava

SAM_0288.jpg

All I can say is wowwwwwwwww!!! BEST. DRINK. EVERRRRRR! I loved this thing I can't believe how good it was. Scott also enjoyed his glowtini, both agreed that it need to be chilled more though. I gave mine a 3 while Scott gave his a 2.

After our drinks came out the food was flying! This restaurant is what is called served family style where they just start bringing food out and it doesn't stop. They started with the coconut bread
SAM_0270.jpg

We didn't eat much of it, because we wanted to save room. The bread was warm and good with a hit of coconut. Then the salad with lime dressing. This was one of the best salads I have ever had. Very sweet I like it.

SAM_0281.jpg

We just got a taste of this because then came everything else.

BBQ wings

SAM_0284.jpg

Pot stickers and steamed broccoli

SAM_0282.jpg

Noodles

SAM_0283.jpg

Shrimp, in the middle

SAM_0286-1.jpg

and those were just the appetizers!!!

After that they brought out the chicken and steak which were the entrees, but I forgot to get picks of those. Here's a pic of my plate

SAM_0285.jpg

This is literally how it looked all evening, because they kept refilling my plate! Everything this was so good. Even the broccoli stood a chance with everything else. Our favorites were the noodles and shrimp I think out of everything, but everything was delicious. After what seemed my third plate I took a little break because a man with a ukulele came out.

SAM_0280.jpg

He then he invited all couples out to the dance floor and played a song and gave us all leis and we danced a slow dance to his song, it was so sweet and romantic! After the song we ate some more and then the fireworks started. they drummed in the music from Wishes and we watched.

SAM_0291.jpg

After Wishes our "cousin" brought out the dessert for the evening bread pudding.

SAM_0293.jpg

I didn't really care for this because I am not a bread pudding lover, but Scott really enjoyed his. Overall we both had an amazing time. The night was fun and the environment was super romantic and the food was absolutely stellar. We both gave it a 3 The only thing we didn't like is they forgot to give us our dipping sauces and we were so busy eating we didn't realize until after the meal was over. Oh and one other thing after we were completely done our cousin brought out this

SAM_0290.jpg

A gift to celebrate our honeymoon! A sweet ending to an awesome first day at Disney!

Awesome! Definitely planning on beingets! And I'm looking forward to Earl of Sandwich - last time I went I didn't get anything there, but my friend that I was with insisted he have a sandwich there because they're so good. I had a bite of whatever he had and it was amazing... I wish I remembered which sandwich it was!

And Ohanas looks so good. I'm thinking this will definitely be on our list of places we want to try next time. I didn't want to make a lot of ressies at the resorts we weren't staying at because of travel time, but it sounds like this one is pretty easy to get to! Yum!

Love your review of O'Hana's. A question about the chicken entree...how is it served? Breaded? Baked? Sauce?

Hi Vickie!!! Such a great name you know :thumbsup2

Love your review of O'Hana's. A question about the chicken entree...how is it served? Breaded? Baked? Sauce?

Thank-You! They serve the chicken grilled on a skewer. They come up to your table with these really long skewers and they have the grilled chicken and steak on them. They also serve the shrimp this way as well. I think the chicken has a light marinade in it. What ever it is it is amazing

Loving the reviews so far and your wedding pic is awesome! Looking forward to reading more
