Ok, so like 6 or 8 long weeks ago I posted a question on this board asking for help and advice planning a one day assault on the Studios and IOA. I got lots of great advice, and it recently floated back up to the top of my oh-so-fuzzy brain that like an ungrateful wretch, I never came back here to let you know how it worked out.

In short, it worked out great. I followed the advice I was given and my family and I had a wonderful first day ever at Universal. We got in everything we wanted to do and had a great time doing it. The Mummy was our absolute favorite. The Hulk was good, but I freaked out a little bit on Ice Dragon. I don't know why it seemed so much scarier to me than the Hulk, but it did. Maybe I was just getting tired by then and my resistance was down. I enjoyed the atmosphere better at the Studios than at IOA. Marvel Superhero Island in particular made me want to drop everything and run just to get away from all the noise of the pounding music and the screams all around.

We had lunch at Mel's, and thought it was decent fast food. I was so excited to find Starbucks in Citywalk on my way in (after days of WDW coffee), but I slipped on the wet metal flooring at the top of the escalator getting there, did the splits (sort of) and landed hard on one knee, rendering me a bit of a gimp for the rest of the day. As a matter of fact, 6 weeks later, that knee is still a little sore. This was slightly made up for by the fact that when I hobbled on into Starbucks after this incident, the nice ladies in there made me an ice bag out of a rubber glove to ice the knee with. I got an inordinate amount of pleasure out of how goofy that ice glove looked. All I can tell you is I don't get out much.

Anyway, here is my official thanks for all the help:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! You guys are great. :love1:

I'm glad the plan worked out. Sorry to hear about your fall. That sounds like something that I would do. There was also a Starbucks near the Mummy ride. It was in Louie's. Could have saved you time and, with no escalators to get to that Starbucks, could have prevented the nasty fall. Next time, hit that one, ok? Also the one by the Mummy is also right near the first aid center in Universal Studios in case you decide to do a repeat performance. ;)

The people on these boards are great--so much great advice! ;)

We are also going to attempt a "one day assault" on Universal and IOA. We are most interested in Universal--my mom isn't into roller coasters but I think she will want to walk around IOA and see everything. She probably will go on Spiderman and maybe Jurassic Park--but that's about it!

I'm sorry you took a spill at Starbucks--hope your knee gets better! I will be heading to Starbucks myself to get my mocha first thing the morning we go to Universal/IOA! :teeth: I wish WDW had a Starbucks!

I thought that we'd start off at Universal, eat lunch at CityWalk and then head to IOA, then finish at Universal. Does that sound like a good plan?

If you can give me some info on your touring plan for the day that would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, I saw that other Starbucks as I limped into the Studios with my ice glove in hand. :rolleyes1 Next time I promise I'll wait till I get to that one before I take my first dive of the day. :smooth:
