Fries and Onions

1) Where are the best onion rings in the world? Or are the same everywhere?

2) Where can I find other kinds of fries (steak or crinkles)? Or are the same everywhere?

I believe at most of the counter service places, the fries are the same- thicker than McDonald's fries, but not steak fries. I did get crinkle fries at 50's Prime Time and they were YUMMY.

Onoin rings...hmm...I enjoy these more than fries, but they're not too common at WDW. I know you can get them at Flame Tree BBQ.

The onion rings at Flame Tree BBQ are so good. I make the side order my lunch!! They are big and greasy and crunchy--love them!! I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Flame Tree may be one of the few or only restaurants where onion rings are served. I always look for them on the menus, never see them and end up settling for fries.

As for fries, I think for the most part they are same everywhere, the standard theme park french fry and then McDonald's in certain areas. I've heard that Capt. Cook's at the Poly have really good fries, but I've personally never tried them.

50's Prime Time has great onion rings! They are cut really, really thin and piled high in a basket. A yummy horseradish sauce is served on the side.

The ones at Beaches and Cream are great, too. They are the more traditional thick cut type.

Casey's at the MK have fries more like McDonalds. Not crinkle cut, but thinner.

The onion "rings" at 50's Prime Time I thought were very good. If I remember correctly they are what I've seen called onion straws. Very thin and crispy.

The best onion rings has to be at Beaches and Cream. They also have the best burgers!!

I agree! Beaches and Cream has the best onion rings but Prime Time has the best onion strings with that great dip!

I agree with the others that 50's Prime Time has YUMMY Onion strings!!! We had them as a starter and didn't want to move on to the entree at all

The onion rings at Councourse Steakhouse were nasty....way too greasy

The onion rings @ Sci-Fi are delicious !!! DS has to have them every time we go to DW

As far as fries go I never really noticed but I'd vote for McDonalds?

But I agree with CoolDisneyCat 50's PT has the best thinly sliced onion rings ever!

First time we went we didn't order any and noticed then at the next table so when we went to SciFi we ordered them but they weren't then same. Sci Fi has the thick slice o rings.

Depends on how you like them.

We've gotten onion straws at the Sandtrap - the restaurant at the Osprey Ridge/Eagle Pines golf courses.

They were really good and plentiful - they served them in a small driving range bucket!

Onion rings at Beaches & Cream are really good. If you like fries with toppings, we found a new favorite in the "Figaro Fries" at Pinocchio's Village Haus at the MK. They are topped with cheese, tomato, lettuce, bacon & some kind of dressing (ranch??). Delicious!

I LOVE the onion straws at Prime Time. They will even substitute them for those awful green beans and not even make you stand in the corner for it

Can't help about onion rings but most of the full service restaurants do serve steak fries in our experience. And that is a lot of WDW experience as we've been going since 1980 and for one of our sons, dining nirvana is a cheeseburger and fries!

I'll have to remember that, I got in trouble for not eating all my green beans in December.

I know there's a little stand on the Boardwalk that sells Onion Rings (Remember where Samantha Brown gets her corn dog on TC?). Anyone know how those are?

Best onion rings hands down is Sci Fi! I can make a meal on them.

YUM just thinking about them makes my mouth water.
