They can certainly visit you in your room but as mentioned, they are not supposed to use the pool. If you ever have room to add them, just do that and then they can! Without a dining plan, its not an issue.

I've done it a number of times since we have family in the area. As long as the number of guests doesn't exceed the room capacity, it's not an issue (just add them).
However, I also try to be respectful - if the pool is busy, we find something else to do (like mini-golf) and leave the pool to staying guests first.
