FRIENDS, PHOTOGRAPHS, and Birthday FUN! 3/3 30 Day Photo Challenge Day 21

The white chocolate slipper! Oh.my. This thing is GOOD- and that raspberry sauce. :cloud9:

I have tried to recreate something similar at home. I made chocolate cups filled with chocolate mousse for Kya's birthday last year that were similar to the little boat next to the slipper. They were good but they were NOTHING like this. So.freaking.AMAZING.

ETA: I feel compelled to add that the churros with the milky caramel dipping sauce from the CS outside Mexico were a close runner up- but I don't have a picture of those.

A picture of your "home resort:

ASMusic will always hold a special place in my heart because it is where I stayed with my kids the first time I showed them the World. We loved the piano pool because it was quiet and rarely crowded. My kids love water and spent a lot of time here- on this night they were enjoying the pool while I did laundry. I'm sure I'll have more experiences at nicer resorts but I'll always think of this place with fondness. :lovestruc

Do you realize what today is?!?!?!?!? 1 YEAR until our trip today!!!!!!!!!

:cheer2: :woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: :cheer2:

A year is going to FLY by! :yay:

wait...that means it's nearly a year until I turn FORTY and run a half marathon. :scared1:

40 is the new 20!

I can celebrate- I won't be 40 for a few more years. :p

Show off ;)

Be glad I can't curse here on the DIS! :p

I'm with ya, Karen! :lmao: JK

Back to the pictures: Good choice to post that airport pic of Kya. I wish Disney was closer too! I love the picture of the slipper dessert! I must have that! We had the churros before but never with the caramel dip! I must have that too! :p

I'm behind on your PTR. Sorry!!!
I loved the chocolate slippers on our trip! Yum!!!
I'm already 40 so I can curse you and Karen! :lmao: It's really not so bad afterall....

You MUST try the dip! I found a churro stand in Chicago that had caramel dip and milky dip but didn't combine them and I decided to pass because the dip was the best part!

Hi Amanda! :goodvibes

I really don't so much mind closing in on 40 so much as I mind NOT being 20. :rotfl:

I had a sick kiddo yesterday and didn't get a picture up. I'll be back later to do two for today!

Okay folks, I'm going to finish up the 30 day challenge her but for all of our trip planning fun we are moving to a new thread. This one has drug on for TOO long (I knew that would happen when I started it so early!) :rotfl:

Too many things have been discussed and changed and it's hard to keep up so a fresh start seemed like a good idea. :thumbsup2

Our BFF Birthday Bash

Two for one tonight folks since I forgot last night!

A picture of your favorite night time activity (existing or past) on Disney property:

MNSSHP!! We loved it- the dance parties, the short lines, the great character interactions, the Headless Horseman, the parade, Hallowishes and especially the Villain Show! It was just perfection. :lovestruc

I have a sneaky suspicion that my new favorite night time activity with Karen will be walking around WS drinking and eating.

A picture of what you do when it rains in the parks:

As you can tell from the look on Kya's face, first and foremost WE COMPLAIN! :rotfl2:

I'd like to say we just put on the ponchos and went on but that is not the way this played out folks. This was not the typical afternoon Florida showers and then it clears off. It POURED. When we walked back to the buses the water was over the tops of our feet and sloshing up onto our legs as we walked!

Thankfully at this point we'd done everything on our list except the LMA! show. And the show does not include jumps or fire when it rains so really, what was the point? :confused3 We did duck into The Little Mermaid in hopes that it would clear off but no such luck. We waddled like ducks back to the buses and got caught up on laundry and had some much needed rest that afternoon.

A picture of your favorite place to shop:

Where else but DTD! I never spend much money on souvenirs but I love to just walk around, browse and soak in the atmosphere. :goodvibes

:lovestruc

One of my favorite places! AND, I realized that it feels more magical at NIGHT, so we need to make sure we go in the evening! It's those twinkle lights, the smell of Ghirardellis and disney music playing! :goodvibes

OMG- Take two folks. I posted this in Erin's thread earlier because I am so exhausted from my work schedule the last couple of days. Seriously- I just posted like it was my own thread. :rotfl2:

Anyway, here goes...

A picture of your favorite Disney character:

272.jpg

Okay, this is a TERRIBLE pic and I've never let anyone see it but, I was trying to use my own photo and this is the only one I have of the Evil Queen. She's out of focus because I did not get great shots of the Villain show- I just didn't have the right lens for night shots at that time. :sad2:

Anyway- I LOVE her. She is so deliciously evil and vain. Plus Snow White annoys the crap out of me. I am EXCITED about Mirror Mirror and can hardly wait to see how Julia Roberts handles the portrayal. :goodvibes

I cannot believe you posted in Erin's thread! :rotfl:

I'm excited for mirror mirror too, I'm hoping since this is a more modern story, that Snow White won't be as...uh...well, as much like Snow White! :lmao:

I know, right!? I knew it was time for bed when I realized what I'd done. :rolleyes2

Trying to take over my thread, I see! :lmao:

I'm really excited about going to see Mirror Mirror too!

A picture of your favorite Disney guilty pleasure:

What else but a delicious slushie! ;)

Honestly, it's a pleasure but I don't know how guilty I feel about it. :lmao:

A picture of something in the parks that deserves more attention:

131.jpg

In all my research I heard very little about Sum of All Thrills. I read a lot on the DIS about the place at Disney Quest where you design your own coaster but it was only through a guide book that I found out there was a place to do it at Epcot in Innoventions. :confused3

We were actually almost prepared to pay for DQ entry just so Jace could do this when I discovered this little gem. He LOVED it and even went back to do it again on our 2nd Epcot day. :thumbsup2 It was also really cool that he got a card with a code on it which gave him access to some online features (games I think). I really don't understand why it's not talked about more but hey, it kept the lines short.

A picture of the best way to beat the heat at Disney:

495.jpg

There are MANY great ways to beat the heat at Disney- water rides, fountains, misters, those little misting fan bottles, ice cream, cool drinks- the list goes on and on. Disney knows their stuff when it comes to keeping the crowds happy in the Florida humidity. But I think hands down the best way to beat the heat is on an air-conditioned ride with an air conditioned queue. Cool down and have a fun adventure at the same time. :thumbsup2

The best place to take a picture at Disney:

Well it has to be MS with the castle in the background and I just :lovestruc the view from the train station. :cloud9:
