Will our friends be allowed to swim at Stormalong Bay, or just at the DVC quiet pool area? As DVC members we almost always have our friends (family of 3) who live in Florida come to our DVC resort. We've done this at Bay Lake, Animal Kingdom, Old Key West, where they have spent the day at the pool with us, then off to dinner/park. We've stayed at BC before, without entertaining, but will it be possible for our friends to swim at Stormalong Bay as long as they are with us?

No. All individual entrants to Stormalong Bay have to scan their magic band to prove they are staying at the Yacht Club or Beach Club themselves.

This is supposedly true, but it is not. We were at Yatch Club in January and we went to the pool a couple times and we didn’t have to scan our magic bands once. We ran into to few people that were taking advantage of that lack of security at the pools.

Well maybe scanning the band depends on how much they expect pool attendance to be. I have always had my band scanned, and I have been there when they made someone go back to room for a MB.

January may be a time they are lax.

We've stayed there during two different summers and they were always diligent about scanning bands. I agree with a PP that they're likely just lax during winter when few guests choose to swim.

Well, the 3 times I stayed at YC in Dec/early Jan. they scanned every time even though SAB wasn’t busy.

I'm just home from there, and they scanned every single day. I've been a BCV owner since 2002, and honestly, we have gone every year since then and I can't remember a time they have not scanned or asked for ID (years ago before MB's). So the answer, no. The only way your friends could get in, is to be on your room reservation. The DVC pools are for members only, not their visiting friends? Not sure where you heard its okay to invite non members to use these pools. I'm surprised this thread has lasted, skirting the rules are a big no no.

At both BCV and BWV I have seen cast members not not check for keys now magic bands .
On days where there began checking later in the day .i have seen them approach people and ask for a key card or magic band.

I do wish they would be more aggressive in clearing out hairs that are reserved for hours with a flip flop and a magazine.

I have not seen any enforcement at quiet pools.

Unless your friends are on your reservation or staying at the same resort as you, they are not permitted at the pools at that resort.
