OK, we've decided this time to DRIVE :scared1: to Florida, actually St Pete's to start and then backtrack to Orlando later in the week. So, being geographically challanged, I've been looking at the maps and checking out the route and trying to decide where to stop for the night to break up the trip.

Does this look about right? Ottawa to St Pete's is coming in at about 25 hours. I'm thinking Fayetteville, NC is about 15 to 16 hours. This sound about right?

Anyone know of any motels in Fayetteville that are passable for a night stay? I was looking at Expedia and apparently Fayetteville has a lot of....hmmmm.....non-five star accomodations! Although I don't need luxury, I do need no bugs, clean sheets and a bathroom that is wiped down between guests!!

Thoughts greatly appreciated!

If you know for sure that this is where you are going to stay- bid on a 3 star room or higher at Priceline. I save sooooo much $$$$$ using this. (i.e.) Toronto- 3 star- $45 a night- Holiday Inn- try and see what you get using it! popcorn::

When we've driven from Ottawa we stay in Roanoke Rapids NC, right after you get across the border from Virginia. There's a bunch of hotels right along the highway there. First day ends up being 13-14 hours and 10-11 hours the 2nd day. On the way back do do similar amounts of driving each day and stay around Richmond, VA.

Holy crap!!!

Let's all behave well when in Georgia!!!
