Sunday 27th October
Tonight was Formal Night. When leaving the kids earlier, I had given them express instructions to be back in the room, showered and dressed in their finery by 5 as I wanted us to have some pictures taken before dinner. Of course, that was all very well and good but I didnt take into account the fact that Gary and I would be only just getting back to the room, three sheets to the wind at that point. Lets just say that we were not very popular. We felt like naughty schoolchildren, giggling our way through showers, make-up (me), hair drying (also me) and getting dressed while Sian and Daniel stood by, arms crossed and toes tapping impatiently. Things were made even more manic when I got a panicked phone call from Jen, who had forgotten to bring hairspray. She was relieved to find out I had some and came down straight away to pick it up.
Needless to say, we did not make it down to have pictures taken before dinner. We arrived at tonights restaurant, Enchanted Garden, with minutes to spare. The others were gathered outside, taking family pictures. I offered to take some of Jen and Rob, Bobbie and Gerald and the families and, in turn, Rob took a picture of us.

Although not a great photo, this is the only one we have of the four of us that night so it will have to do.
We all filed into the dining room and were soon sat at our respective tables. Sian took a picture of Daniel and I. I think Daniel was doing an impression of Goofy

It is at this point that I feel I should apologise. Due to my inebriated state, not only do I have no pictures of the food, I cant even remember what we ate. I am such a bad DISer.
I do remember we had a lot of fun at the table that night.
Gary taught the boys, Evan and Lane, how to tie a Windsor knot.

Char came to visit with us at the table.

I can only assume the food was nice, Im sure it was.
We had arranged to meet Abby and family outside their dining room (Royal Court) so I could get some pictures of Daniel and Abby together, in their formal outfits. Given that theyd spent most of the afternoon together, I had thought they might be a little less stand-offish but, despite encouragement from both Jody and I for them to move closer together, they remained in their formal (and slightly uncomfortable) pose.

Sian wanted to get changed so had gone back to the room. I was still hoping we might get some pictures so I wasnt quite ready to get out of my finery just yet. As we were leaving Abbys family, we spotted the rest of our group and joined the line with them, to have formal pictures taken.
As it was, none of the shots of Gary, Daniel and I came out well but at the last minute the girls decided to have a group picture, which came out really well.

While we were having our girly picture taken, the Captain came up and started chatting with us. I wish we had asked him to have his picture taken with us but none of us were quick enough and he wandered off.
Tonights show was Aladdin and I nearly didnt go since I had a bit of a headache (hangover kicking in?). After a quick trip back to the room to change and grab some Tylenol, I decided to go along and I am so glad I did. It was fantastic, I absolutely loved it. The Genie was the star of the show, that guy was a hoot!
Later, there was an adults only show featuring a hypnotist called Ricky Kalmon. To begin with, he asked for volunteers to come up on stage. I have always wondered whether the whole hypnotism thing is real so almost volunteered but I was feeling a little self-conscious so didnt. However, he then gave the audience a chance to try and go under themselves. I decided to participate in that and, although I felt very relaxed and almost as if I was drifting off, I wasnt sure if it was down to the alcohol or the effects of his instructions. He asked those who had tried to go under to stand, then said you may have a feeling of heat in your feet. Well, I didnt so I sat down again. He offered for anyone who was feeling the heat to go on stage, shake his hand and that would cool them down. A couple of the people who went on stage, he invited to stay. The rest of the show was the usual hypnotist agenda of making the participants do incredibly stupid and amusing things for our entertainment. I just wasnt convinced. There were several times where people seemed to not be under when they should have been the odd smirk here and there, over-performing, that kind of thing. I remained very pessimistic and grew more so as the show went on. Char and I discussed it afterwards and discovered that we were both thinking very similarly. I figured that, the next evening when he did the family show, I may volunteer.
Given that we were all really tired now, we all went our separate ways. Gary, Sian and I headed back to the room where were Cassie had left us a message.
Back story: Cassie has something of a reputation for fraping her Mum and Nate whenever she visits them. In the summer, when Cassie came to visit with us, Nate warned us to make sure everything was password protected. On her first day, I actually fraped Sian and poor Cassie got the blame. However, during her stay, she was very good whether she was on her best behaviour or whether we just had adequate security on our phones, tablets and laptops I dont know but we ended the week un-fraped. Prior to the cruise, Tony had dared Cassie to get hold of my phone and frape me, however he (and she) had failed to realise that, without the benefit of free wifi on the ship, my phone remained in the safe for practically our entire cruise.
So, back to tonight and it appeared that, in the absence of my mobile phone and access to my Facebook account, Cassie had settled for the next best thing.

We had a good laugh about this. We went to check if the kids were in bed they were in the room but were about to head upstairs to get some drinks and a slice of pizza. Sian got us a couple of diet cokes, which she brought back to our room for us. Since we were heading off separately to them the next day, we said we would see them for dinner, if not before. It wasnt long before Gary and I were fast asleep.
